Readers, meet Betty. In the Fall of 2014, she decided that she needed to open an online sex toy shop founded on the idea that sex should be enjoyed without reservation, judgment, or guilt. So, Betty’s Toy Box was born.

Six women share the joyful duties of selecting products and educating customers.

Betty’s Toy Box carries products for everyone and every body. They have a pretty extensive collection of vibrators, dildos, strokers, anal toys and more.

I do have to say one thing. Betty’s Toy Box does carry toys made of porous materials and I don’t recommend those in anything other than strokers. They aren’t the only shop I work with that sells those products but I want to be clear that I don’t endorse porous dildos, vibrators or anal toys.

They do, however attempt to educate their customer on what material the toy is made of and how to care for it. It comes down to one thing for me; you can’t sanitize a porous toy. Not by boiling (which you can’t do anyway because the material can’t stand up to the heat) and not by washing in a bleach solution. Porous materials always have the potential to harbor bacteria, viruses and mold.

So, just stick with me and the products I recommend and you’ll be fine. I even have my own page over there with some of my favorite toys and lube. And just because you read my blog, you always get a 10% discount on your entire order. Just use code: DIZZY at checkout. Oh and, they offer free shipping on orders of $29+. That’s the best deal I’ve seen.

The hugely annoying over-commercialized day that so many love to hate is coming – Valentine’s Day. What should you get that special someone? Well, chocolates and flowers are pretty standard fare but what if they’re the more adventurous type? What if a new sex toy would quicken their pulse more than a bunch of flowers and pink heart covered crap?

First of all, make sure your partner has an interest in sex toys. I can’t think of anything more shocking than opening a gift and seeing a vibrator inside when it’s something that I’ve never even expressed an interest in before.

If you’re unsure, you can always go with some tamer sexy accessories like:

But if you know they’d love to receive a sex toy then I have some suggestions. Get an idea of what they’re looking for – clit vibe, G-spotting dildo, anal toy. If they already have a favorite toy but it’s made of jelly or TPR then consider replacing it with a similar toy made of body-safe materials.

And of course, if you’re flying solo this Valentine’s Day then many of my suggestions would be a great way to treat yourself.

You want my specific recommendations to help you find the good toys and where to buy ’em? I can do that.

Lust L2First, clit vibes:
Actually most vibrators made for insertion can also be used on the clit but here I’m talking about the small vibes that are meant for stimulating the clit.

LELO Mona 2How about G-spotting vibrators?

Fun Factory Miss BiDue to variances in anatomy, it’s difficult to recommend a dual stimulator or, rabbit vibe but these are a couple that I like:

Magic Wand RechargeableMaybe they’re interested in a Wand massager?

Nobessence SeductionHow about a non-vibrating insertable – like a G-spotting dildo?

Vixen Vixskin MustangThey don’t like much G-spot stimulation?

njoy Pure Plug 2How about an anal toy?

Stronic EinsThen there are toys that are in a category all their own:

Sliquid Organics Natural GelDon’t forget the lube. Your partner’s experience with any toy, and with you for that matter, will be greatly enhanced with some lube.

If you want to save your beloved from having to wash the sheets after sexy time activities then I highly recommend the Liberator Throe* – Get it at: SheVibe, Good Vibes

Speaking of Liberator, if you want to switch up positions, I can’t recommend the Wedge* enough. Dizzyguy and I use it all the time – Get it at: SheVibe, PeepShow Toys, Good Vibes, Vibrant

If none of these suggestions help and you still can’t decide, you can never go wrong with a gift card. Then your significant other can choose whatever tickles their fancy.
You can get them from: SheVibeGood Vibes, Tantus, Lovehoney, PeepShow Toys, Vibrant

While I am not properly equipped to personally vouch for penis or prostate toys, these are some that dizzyguy has ejoyed.

Don’t forget that you can get exclusive discounts at some of my affiliated retailers:

  • 10% off at PeepShow Toys with code: DIZZY – Free shipping on orders $70+
  • 15% off at Filthy Dirty with code: TMG15 – Free shipping on orders $75+
  • 10% off at Sliquid with code: DIZZY – Free shipping on orders $60+
  • 10% off at Vibrant with code: DIZZY – Free shipping on orders $50+
  • 15% off at Lovehoney through this link. Free shipping on orders $60+

*These are toys/products that I do own and love but have not written reviews for.

Since my libido hit the wall and went missing in action (and still hasn’t returned) around the middle of the year, I didn’t review as much as I have in years past. But there were still enough reviews to put together this list of best and worst.

As luck would have it, with my ability to review compromised, dizzyguy decided he would like to start reviewing penis and prostate toys. It’s great because it keeps the blog from going stale and it can help those people who I never could because well… I’m just not equipped to do so.

First, The Biggest Disappointments

Bi Stronic FusionThe Fun Factory BiStronic Fusion had a lot of potential. I was really psyched about trying it since one of my fave sex toys ever is the Stronic Eins. I was also a little leery, simply because dual stimulators can be so hit or miss due to variations in distance between the vagina and clitoris. But I still had high hopes for the BiStronic Fusion – that were quickly dashed right from the beginning. I mean, it has all of the quality you’d expect from Fun Factory but it just didn’t work for me. It didn’t fit me right. I don’t doubt that some folks would be happy with the BiStronic Fusion but given the price, I think it’s a pretty big gamble. Read the review.

Jimmyjane Intro VibesThe biggest “wtf – do not buy” products I tried this year were the Jimmyjane Intro Vibes. Can we say… underwhelming? I get it, they’re supposed to be more affordable, battery operated “luxury” toys. But lets just be honest here – they suck – every single one of them. They’re all weak and buzzy and the small clit vibe uses watch batteries. Fucking WATCH BATTERIES. I love the far more expensive Form 4 and hated the Form 6. But since Jimmyjane has been purchased by the same company that owns Pipedream, I can only expect their quality to decline.

Most Unique

Womanizer Pro glowIt has a much detested name but one of kind stimulation. In fact, it’s kind of difficult to describe exactly what it is that the Womanizer Pro W500 is doing to my clit. It’s sort of like puffs of air. It’s strange but I like it. It’s also gaudy as all hell and ain’t exactly cheap. Read the review.

Laid D.2The Laid D.2 is a gorgeous dildo made of Absolute Black Granite and has an asymmetrical shape that can produce some pretty unique sensations on the G-spot. Its unique shape caught the attention of We-Vibe, which bought the Laid company, and they made a vibe based on the asymmetrical shape. And that vibe ended up in my “Loved” list. Go figure. Read the review.

Loved

Prism V 2L’amourose Prism V –  Simply perfection. This is exactly the vibe that I’d hoped L’amourose would make since I did like the Rosa Rouge despite its stubby base. Well, they got everything right with this vibe. It’s definitely one of my faves. Read the review.

we-vibe raveWe-Vibe Rave – This is the vibe with the asymmetrical shape similar to the Laid D.2 dildo. You get a peculiar (in a good way) sensation when you twist the handle side to side. Read the review.

NobEssence Allure 1NobEssence Allure – What’s not to love about this wooden dildo? I said it was sort of like a shoe horn for my G-spot because it hooks in and tugs at it with each pull. It’s handcrafted to perfection, as are all NobEssence dildos. Read the review.

Iroha ToriIroha+ Tori – I love, love, love (Can you tell I love it?) this little squishy bird shaped looking thing of a clit vibe. It has that same squish factor that the Midori does – maybe even a bit squishier. The pointy tip is what really gets me. My clit loves pin-point vibes and this vibe delivers. Read the review.

Tantus Adam O2Tantus Adam O2 – This dildo is a bit of a sleeper. I say that because at first glance, it doesn’t look like it would rock my world but it did. It’s made of Tantus’ dual density silicone which provides a more realistic feel. I was surprised by the amount of G-spot stimulation I got from it and it has this magical ability to feel larger than it is. Read the review.

sliquid-swirl-lubesSliquid Swirl lubes – There aren’t many lubes that I’ll put in my mouth… or, in my vagina for that matter. Sliquid Swirl is probably the only flavored lube I’ll use and recommend. Just like vaginas can be naturally very wet or dry, so can mouths. My mouth is like the fucking Sahara (which I blame on meds) so, I can’t give a good sloppy, juicy blowjob. That’s where the Sliquid Swirl comes in. I first purchased the Blue Raspberry and love the taste and smell of it. It takes my blowjobs to the next level and not being a huge fan of the taste of semen, the flavor makes it more palatable. I’ll be trying all the flavors in a future review.

Best Shops/Companies

PeepShow Toys – their support of the sex blogging/reviewing community is impressive. They’ve been huge supporters of my blog. But even more importantly than what they do for bloggers, is their commitment to selling only body-safe, nonporous sex toys. They won’t even sell porous strokers, which is something I’ve even recently made an exception for. They’re a small business and definitely deserve your support. They  even gave me my own picks page and a 10% discount code for my readers: DIZZY

PeepShow Toys 468X60

Tantus – Always one of my favorite companies. They’re one of the pioneers of creating body-safe nonporous silicone sex toys. They support the sex blogging community as well as important organizations like Woodhull. In other words, they’re a company that puts its money where its mouth is. The quality of their products is top-notch. And while not everything I’ve tried has worked for me, I’ve never been disappointed by the quality of the product.

Tantus

Sliquid – Hands down, some of the best lube you can put in your holes. All of their lube formulas are vagina friendly and as you read above, I feel safe putting their flavored lubes in my mouth. They don’t compromise on quality and their mission is to make sex better with premium lubes. Because lube makes everything better! Plus when you buy directly from them, you can save 10% with code: DIZZY

Sliquid

Vibrant – They’re sort of newcomers to the sex blogging scene and while I’m not working with them yet, I’m planning to. Why do I think they belong on this list? Because they’re a sex positive shop that shares proceeds from every purchase to Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains. They’re committed to selling only body-safe, nonporous sex toys so, you know I love that. A comment from Vibrant that pretty much sums up their mission:

Vibrant is dedicated to providing a space without stigma for all people to take control of their sex life with fun body-safe and quality products.

And there it is, another year of sex toy reviews gone by. I hope you all have enjoyed reading my blog through the year and I’d really love it if you stuck around for next year too. Hopefully, I can get to a place where I can start reviewing toys again. Until then, we can rely on dizzyguy to provide the entertainment. I hope each and every one of you has a wonderful New Year and please know, I appreciate you all.

Don’t forget, if you’re buying from PeepShow Toys, you can save 10% with code DIZZY.
Also save 10% at Sliquid with code DIZZY.

Hey Gang,Kinkly 2016

Happy Fall everyone! I can’t believe it’s October already. August was long, hot and miserable. September seemed to fly right by. But you know what this means? It’s that time of year again to vote for your favorite Sex Blogging Superheroes! And I do hope that I’m one of your favorites.

If you like my blog, what I do and think I’m a pretty cool chick then all you have to do is take a couple of seconds to click on this link: https://www.kinkly.com/top-sex-bloggers/novelties-toy-meets-girl and then click the “Vote” button. That’s it. That’s all you have to do to make me a happy girl.

I need at least 5 votes by October 9th to make the list at all. Really hoping that shouldn’t be a problem but make sure you don’t wait too long to vote. And the more votes, the better because there will be categories like, Readers’ Choice, which I won last year thanks to all of you. So, tell your friends, family and strangers on the street why they should vote for me.

While you’re there voting for me, don’t forget to check out the other great sex bloggers and vote for some more of your favorites! It means so much to us to know that our readers appreciate what we do.

LELO Hex

LELO, the once prestigious brand behind such iconic and beloved sex toys as the MONA 2, never seem to stop outdoing themselves – but not in a good way. From sexist ad campaigns to gimmicky overpriced toys 1 and general asshattery 2, LELO seems dead set on ruining everything that once made them great. What’d they do this time that made me feel like I had to write this? It’s their new “innovative” HEX condom. Part of me didn’t want to give this thing more publicity but I just had to publicly rant a little bit.

Before I get to why I’m not a big fan of the condom itself, let’s just talk about their ad campaign. They actually chose none other than the notorious Charlie Sheen as their spokesperson for the product. You read that right… Charlie Sheen. The guy that’s known for his reckless lifestyle and well documented domestic abuse and general dude bro persona with a long history of treating women like shit.

Sheen, has somewhat recently publicly announced that he is HIV positive. I don’t shame him for that. It’s something that can literally happen to anyone who has sex. Condoms aren’t a 100% guarantee against contracting it. So, it’s just a really unfortunate thing to have happened to him, regardless of his lifestyle. However, it has been suggested that he had sex without disclosing his status and if true, that’s just reprehensible and there’s no way he could ever redeem himself of that.

When Sheen was announced as the spokesperson for the new HEX condom there was a swift and blinding backlash from the sex positive blogging community. There’s absolutely no question where most of us stand on the issue. It was insensitive and downright stupid of LELO to choose him to represent their product. It’s an especially harsh slap in the face to survivors of abuse.

LELO Sheen tweets2Then there’s this from Bryan Menegus at Gizmodo :

[He] also insisted on showing me that, once fully unrolled, the HEX has the word “respect” printed in some sort of latex bas relief at its base. “Respect, what?” I asked, genuinely unsure of the message’s implications. “Respect the man who wears it,” was his impromptu answer.

Not everyone who wears a condom, especially a poorly thought out one like this, deserves my respect.

So OK, that’s where LELO began to fuck up with their marketing and message but why am I not a big fan of the “groundbreaking” HEX condom itself? Let me explain.

Initially, I didn’t really understand what all the hype was about. At first glance it just looks like a textured condom. Then LELO released this rather confusing image:

Hex needle test

What were they trying to demonstrate here? Were they actually piercing their HEX condom with a needle? For what purpose?

Well, it turns out that LELO thinks they’ve made a safer condom with the HEX. They say that while a traditional condom is destroyed by a single needle prick, their condom stays intact, even after being breached by many needle pricks. They say their HEX technology makes the condom stronger and even if it does fail, it doesn’t fail as badly as a regular condom and so therefore continues to provide “some protection”.

Some protection… I find that notion problematic. Once a condom fails in any way, you should consider that you’ve had zero protection. You should take immediate action to prevent pregnancy and diagnose/treat possible STIs. LELO’s claim that you’re still sort of protected even if there’s a small tear in the condom is actually pretty reckless and could lead some into a false sense of security.

See, I want my condom to completely rip apart and make it totally obvious that it has failed so I can get Plan B as soon as possible and get to the doctor to be tested/treated for possible STIs. I don’t want to assume I was protected the whole time only to find out way too late that I really wasn’t.

I don’t think it’s a great idea that their HEX condom could make it easy to miss the fact that it had a small tear in it. That’s all it takes to get pregnant or contract an STI. This idea that you still have “some protection” is kind of ridiculous. And some people might think: Hey, looks like there’s a small tear in the condom but it’s nothing to worry about because we still had “some protection”. Wrong.

I think the HEX condom is just a bad idea all the way around and I’d never recommend it to my readers. It’s like someone or several someones at LELO didn’t think this thing all the way through. Or, it could be worse than that, maybe they just don’t care. Maybe in their fervor to bring “innovative” products to market, they willingly overlooked the fact that the HEX condom actually puts people at more risk by either making condom failure difficult to notice or by instilling a false sense of security. I don’t want to think that they’d knowingly sell a product that could hurt people. But they aren’t listening to the sex positive community about the safety of their condom or their choice of spokesperson, for that matter.

In fact, and I have no way of proving this but, I heard it through the grapevine that someone at LELO called us bloggers a bunch of “whiny SJWs” (social justice warriors). Are we? Or, do we just care about people more than LELO does?

Oh, and I almost forgot… don’t even get me started on the fact that they’re crowdfunding it. Really LELO? A company that charges easily over $120 for a vibrator can’t come up with the revenue to bring a new product to market? Tacky much?

If you want more perspective from the sex positive blogging community, I recommend you read these posts by Sarah, Dangerous Lilly, Cara Sutra, Lunabelle, Horny Geek Girl, MollyFormidable Femme and @AfterrDarkk made a video. Also, from a retailer’s point of view: Sex Siopa

Bottom line? I haven’t been promoting LELO for a while now. I don’t expect that I’ll be reviewing any of their products any time soon. I still do really like the Mona 2 and the Siri 2 but after LELO’s price hikes, it’s hard to justify recommending them. If after reading this, you still want to purchase LELO products, that’s totally your call but at least understand what kind of company you’re giving your business to.

It’s hard to be a sex toy reviewer when your libido is in the shitter and unfortunately, that’s where I am now. Why? Who knows? I struggled with a nonexistent libido for a long time. Maybe it was depression. Maybe it’s the birth control pill. Maybe, it’s just me.

Then my shrink increased one of my meds to the highest possible dose and my libido took off like a rocket. It was truly wonderful. Dizzyguy and I were having sex almost as frequently as when we first met, which I know, made him very happy.

But it would seem that the effects of that med adjustment have worn off. There are other symptoms too. I can’t seem to get really excited about much of anything these days. I have no motivation and put off doing things that I need to for far too long. All I want to do is sleep. Sounds like depression to me.

But I’m not crying at all and I’m not having suicidal thoughts. My irritability isn’t at ridiculous levels like it usually is when I’m depressed. So, maybe what I’m dealing with is like… depression lite.

I was kind of wrong about one thing. Since the weather has been warming up and I’m seeing my garden come to life, I am excited about getting back into gardening and spending time out on the deck. Dizzyguy and I really love relaxing on our deck where we’re right up to the edge of the woods and we can watch the birds come and go from the feeders.

One of my favorite things in the world is when the hummingbirds get here, which should be in a couple of weeks and my butterfly garden is in full bloom and there are butterflies everywhere. Those things make me feel happy. But when it comes down to it, I don’t know how much energy I’ll really have for the gardening. I don’t seem to have energy for much of anything lately.

So, as you can imagine, being in this state makes testing sex toys and writing about it damn near impossible. I have no interest in masturbation. Ya know, it’s a cruel joke… I went so long not being able to have orgasms and now I can but I just don’t care. If that doesn’t say something’s wrong, I don’t know what does.

Feeding into the depression and anxiety, I feel crushing reviewer’s guilt like a motherfucker. I owe so many reviews and I don’t know when I’m going to be able to get them done. Talking to other bloggers/reviewers, I know that I am not alone in this. But that doesn’t make me feel much better about it.

I also need to learn to say “no” or, at least “not right now”. Because, when the wonderful companies I work with want to send me stuff, I don’t want to let them down. I haven’t been requesting review items for some time now but somehow, they keep showing up at the door. I’m not complaining. It’s wonderful that companies have such faith in me and want me to write reviews for them. And I feel so unprofessional about disappointing them when I can’t write the reviews in a timely manner.

Adding to the difficulty, I don’t think it’s a great idea to try to evaluate sex toys right now anyway. Since I’m not excited about anything, I feel like I might not give the toy a fair chance. I might think a toy is just “meh” but it might really be that I feel “meh” about everything.

I’m not sure what to do to get out of the funk. Take a break and focus on something else I enjoy (like the gardening) for awhile? Talk to my shrink about a med adjustment? Fake it until I make it?

I was so distressed about low libido in the past that I tried this herbal supplement pill (can’t remember the name) and it made me extremely ill. I don’t know if it was just the pill itself making me sick or, how it was interacting with all of my meds. But I wanted my libido back so badly that I kept taking the supplement for probably longer than I should have, considering how it made me feel and what it must have been doing to me.

I tried Zestra in the past too and my overall opinion on it is, “meh”. It’s a topical product that you’re meant to apply to the vulva and it’s supposed to increase arousal. It’s an interesting sensation but it doesn’t make me want sex. My problem is not lack of arousal, it’s lack of desire. So, I’m kind of done with trying supplements and stuff like that. It’s probably not even safe for me to take the supplements with my meds anyway.

My overall health isn’t the best it’s ever been. Well, it isn’t that exactly – I don’t feel sick. I’m just the most overweight I’ve ever been and I get physically worn out way too easily. I know I need to eat better and I know I need to exercise. Knowing it and doing it are two completely different things though. But who knows, dropping about 40 pounds would probably work wonders for my libido. It’s just feels impossible when you’re down in the funk though.

So, if the activity on my blog slows down, these are the reasons why. If I do happen to churn out a review, it’s probably because I was having a rare burst of energy, which does happen sometimes. I sincerely hope that companies can understand and that my readers don’t leave. Before I publicly admitted to feeling this way on Twitter, someone was telling me that a lot of bloggers get burned out at the three year mark. I just had my three year blogiversary last month. Coincidence? I don’t know.

PeepShow Toys is a small independent retailer of body-safe, phthalate-free, nonporous sex toys and adult products. They’ve been around for a little over two years and I’ve been working with them for nearly all of that time.

The owner created PeepShow Toys with a mission toward sex-positivity and selling a carefully curated selection of quality, body-safe sex toys. They don’t sell any jelly rubber or toys made of other porous materials. You can find sex toys made of plastic, glass, silicone, wood and steel. They have often asked for my advice on new products to carry and I always recommend the ones that I think are the best. They offer a selection of toys from respected manufacturers such as Tantus, njoy, LELO, NobEssence and more.

They’ve been big supporters of the sex-toy-reviewing blogger community by providing products for review so, you can make more informed decisions on your purchases. They even helped me get to Woodhull’s SFS last year.

Based in New Jersey, PeepShow Toys will always ship your purchases and bill you discreetly. They understand the importance of privacy. When you contact them, you’re communicating directly with the owner. They offer free shipping on orders over $75 and often throw in a free gift of lube or toy cleaner. They also run occasional sales and host giveaways both on their own site and with the bloggers.

Why should you shop with PeepShow Toys? Frankly, they don’t want to sell you crap. Many other retailers that claim to be sex-positive carry toys made of questionable materials but PeepShow Toys decided right from the beginning that they would not. When you purchase from them, you’re supporting a small independent retailer that only wants to offer you the best products. You also help support the bloggers who review sex toys, making it easier to choose which ones are best suited for you.

Next time you’re shopping for a new sex toy, lube, light BDSM gear or, other adult products and accessories, make sure you stop by PeepShow Toys. They have competitive prices and you can always save 10% on everything on the site with my discount code: DIZZY. I also have my own page on their site with some of my top picks.

LELO isn’t a company that I promote anymore. I encourage you to read this before purchasing their products.

This comment was posted on my review of the LELO GIGI 2 and then deleted by the person who submitted it.  I really wanted to be able to respond to them so I decided to answer their questions in a post.  Hopefully they see it and maybe it can be helpful to others as well.

This is embarrassing but my boyfriend bought me one and I can’t reach anything I mean is the first time I’ve ever use a g spot vibrator and I’ve never masturbate before with anything inserted so I don’t really know how it suppose to work, should I leave it there until I feel
Something? Should I move it when is inserted? Should I get inside and outside like I’m having real sex? I just inserted until the silicone ends and I don’t feel any kind of arousal I don’t know what in doing wrong or if is possible that I can’t have a vaginal orgasm, it work when I use it on the clit but it takes forever because it’s not strong enough. So can someone help me to know how to
Hit the g spot with this?

First of all, there is nothing to be embarrassed about.  I have a good amount of experience with sex toys and even I still have to experiment and try different things to get some toys to work for me.  That said, we’re all different and what works for me might not work for you and some toys might not be right for your body at all.  But it’s not anything that you’re doing wrong because there is no right or wrong way to masturbate. You can feel free to experiment until you find something that feels good.

So, I never felt G-spot stimulation in my life until I started using toys.  Sometimes, it can take a while to find it and figure out how it likes to be stimulated.  Some people never do experience G-spot stimulation or orgasms from it no matter what toys they use. And some folks find out they really aren’t huge fans of the sensation.

In general, my G-spot prefers really intense stimulation, like applying a lot of pressure against it.  To do this, I push down on the  handle of the toy and that pushes the head of it into my G-spot.  I don’t always thrust with G-spot toys, it just all depends on the toy.  With some toys I like to do more of a rocking up and down motion with the handle. Sometimes, I like to just apply constant pressure to the G-spot while stimulating my clit with a vibe.

Speaking of the clit, you might want to try stimulating it with your fingers or another vibrator while you are using your GIGI 2 internally.  Sometimes, arousal makes the G-spot easier to find.  I can’t have orgasms from G-spot stimulation alone and that’s pretty common, though some people can.  But I always have to use a vibe on my clit while I’m stimulating my G-spot to be able to orgasm from it.

The best advice I can give is to just relax and try different things until you hit on something that feels good. Try not to get too worried about it not working for you and have fun experimenting. I don’t know if you’re only trying to use your GIGI 2 with your boyfriend or if you are masturbating on your own but it might help if you spent some time alone with your toy. Not that there’s anything wrong with using it with your boyfriend but it might take the pressure off if you took some time on your own to figure out what feels good.

Try not to get discouraged and don’t try too hard. Just relax and have fun with it. If you never do find a way to make the GIGI 2 work for you, it may be that it’s just not the right toy for you. It happens, not all toys work for all bodies. I know it would be disappointing if you can’t make it work for you and I realize that these toys are not inexpensive. However, I think I’ve heard of more people having success with the LELO MONA 2 than the GIGI 2. I do like the GIGI 2 but the MONA 2 is more powerful and it’s larger, which might help.

Since these toys are rather expensive, one thing I can suggest is that you purchase them from Lovehoney. They don’t always have the lowest prices on stuff but they’re the only ones I know of that have a return policy, even if you’ve used the toy. So you might check that out next time you’re shopping for a new toy.

Wow, where did the year go? I know people always say that but it really seems like 2015 flew right by. It’s been another great year of reviewing and I am always so grateful that you all have continued to follow me and support my blog.

I was going to do a best and worst of 2015 post but ya know what?  There’s already plenty of negativity out in the world so, I decided to focus on the best products I reviewed this year. That’s not to say there weren’t some duds (cough, PicoBong Transformer, cough) but there were some really great products that deserve the spotlight. Plus, I just didn’t have it in me to turn on the snark.

VibratorsLust L2

This year I found a new favorite clit vibe, the Jopen Lust L2. I honestly have been reaching for it more often than my We-Vibe Touch so, that’s saying something. It’s just perfect for me in every way and it has every single feature that I want in a clit vibe plus it lacks one I don’t – patterns. It’s also at an unbeatable price for the quality and features you get. Read the review.

LELO SIRI 2OK, I have mixed feelings about LELO lately. I kind of feel like they’ve been focusing too much on gimmicky features and they just recently raised their prices across the board which makes it really hard to justify buying or promoting their products. That said, one of my favorite vibrators that I reviewed this year is the SIRI 2. It has a gimmicky sound response feature that I have no use for and I wish they would have done without it and just lowered the price because it is a nice clit vibe. Read the review.

Next, we have an iconic wand massager with updates that make it damn near perfect. The Magic Wand Original (Hitachi) is one of the most well-known wand massagers and it’s been around since forever but it has some shortcomings. The new Magic Wand Rechargeable addresses those issues. First, it’s rechargeable, obviously. It also has more than the tMagic Wand Rechargeablewo uber powerful settings that the Original has and they’ve given it a silicone head, which is so much better than the vinyl head on the Original. This is still a powerhouse wand massager but I’m so glad that it has a couple of lower settings because the higher settings can be too much for me. Read the review.

L_amourose Rosa RougeRounding out the bunch, this vibrator is truly luxury class and the price reflects that. It’s hard for me to recommend this vibe because of the high price tag but it really was one of my favorites for the year. The L’amourose Rosa Rouge is one surprisingly powerful vibrator. It’s actually built to be a dual stimulator with two motors but it doesn’t work that way for me. I still love it for G-spot stimulation though. This vibe has gotten praise amongst reviewers and for good reason. The Rouge has an extra feature – heat – and it’s more expensive than the Rosa. So if that heating feature isn’t important to you, and it really isn’t for me, then definitely go for the Rosa. Read the review.

The one thing I wish they’d done differently with the Rosa/Rouge was change the base and just make it into a handle, effectively creating a G-spot dildo, instead of a dual stimulator. I even mentioned that in my review… and to my delight, it looks like L’amourose had the same idea. They are coming out with two new vibrators, the Prism V and Prism VII (which is like a rabbit vibe). I desperately want to get my hands and vagina on the Prism V and I’m going to try like hell to get one for review. So cross your fingers for me that I can get one and it probably wouldn’t hurt if you told L’amourose that you want me to review it.

Dildos

Is it really any surprise that I have three Tantus dildos on my best-of list this year? Well, it shouldn’t be because they really are one of the best companies making some of the best silicone sex toys money can buy. They’re an ethical company and a joy to work with as a reviewer. They’re one of the few that really care about the customer’s experience with their products and actually have real people test their designs and make changes based on feedback. What a concept, right?Duke and Duchess

The first Tantus dildo that I loved this year was a brand new design – sort of. The Duchess is an O2 dual density vibrating dildo but the shape of it is exactly the same as the Duke, which is made of Tantus’ standard firm silicone. I liked the Duke but I love the Duchess. It’s a large dildo for me to handle but that squish of the O2 silicone makes it easier for me to manage and that massive head gives me fantastic G-spot stimulation. Read the review.

At the time it was released, it was Tantus’ only O2 vibrating dildo available but now they’ve added a new one – the Alan. Alan is a super realistic O2 vibrating dildo and it comes packaged with a bullet vibe (as all Tantus’ vibrating dildos do) and the compatible suction cup that is usually a separate purchase. I may get around to testing the Alan in the new year.

Tantus G-spotThe next two Tantus dildos that I loved this year are classic designs that have been around awhile and that’s probably because they’re so perfect. The G-Spot vibrating dildo is one of my faves but I kind of think it’s underrated. In fact, it’s not something that really caught my attention but Tantus sent me one out of the blue (they’re known to do that sometimes) and I’m so glad that they did because this dildo rocks my G-spot. Read the review.

Then there’s The Vamp and I love it because it’s just a workhorse of a dildo. There’s nothing overly fancy about it but itTantus Vamp gets the job done. There’s no annoying texture and it’s not an extremely realistic dildo. The girth is satisfying and if you can handle the size, I do recommend it as an introduction to Tantus’ products. The good news is that the Vamp is often in Tantus’ Grab Bag selection and comes at a significantly discounted price, which is another good reason to make it your first Tantus dildo. Read the review.

A Vixen dildo made it onto my Best of 2015 list – the VixSkin Buck. I am one of the many who are obsessed with the VixSkin Vixskin BuckMustang and since trying Vixen’s dual density VixSkin, all I wanted was to get another one. I’ve heard wonderful things about the Maverick but I’m concerned that I wouldn’t be able to handle the girth so, I went for the Buck and let me tell you, it is heavenly. VixSkin silicone feels like nothing else you can buy and Buck is nice and girthy but not too much. It’s hard for me to say which I love more – the Mustang or the Buck. They’re both great choices. Read the review.

The last item I’m going to add to the best dildos list is actually an attachment for a wand massager but it is a dildo too. TVixen Gee Whizzardhe Vixen Gee Whizzard paired with the Magic Wand Rechargeable produced some seriously intense squirting orgasms. I highly recommend this Wand attachment and it also fits the Magic Wand Original and Doxy Wand. Read the review.

Kink

Mushroom ElectrodeI don’t test/review many kink or BDSM products. It’s just not something I’m into in a big way, though I do like to occasionally experiment with “tamer” products. That’s where the KinLab Neon Wand comes in. This thing is just seriously cool. It looks and sounds kind of scary but trust me, if dizzyguy and I can handle it then you know it’s not all that hard-core. It’s definitely an item that can add a whole new dynamic to how you play in the bedroom (or kitchen, or wherever). To give you an idea of what it does, take a look at this picture I captured of the electricity arcing to my nipple. The pic is obviously NSFW. Read the review.

Lube

Wrapping up my Best of 2015 list are a couple of water-based lubes that became instant favorites. First is Sliquid Organics Natural GelSliquid Organics Natural Gel. I love Sliquid and I can pretty much recommend anything they make, even if I haven’t tried it because I know they use safe ingredients in their products. The Organics Natural Gel won me over with its wonderfully thick consistency that works so well for coating my toys and not dripping all over the place. It feels great, lasts long and doesn’t leave me feeling sticky or gross. Read the review.

Good Clean Love Almost NakedThe next lube I fell in love with is Good Clean Love Almost Naked Lube. I like it for the same reasons as Sliquid’s Organics Natural Gel. It’s made of safe ingredients and it’s so thick that it clings to my toys without dripping everywhere. I only wish I could get the stuff in bigger bottles. Read the review.

And there you have it. The best products I tried in 2015. There are actually a couple more items that I would add to the list but I haven’t reviewed them yet and I probably won’t get to them before the end of the year. Those are the Fun Factory Miss Bi, which is a rabbit vibe that actually works for me, and the Fucking Sculptures G-Spoon, which I can’t rave about enough. It’s as equally beautiful as it is effective for hitting my G-spot and AFE Zone, depending on how I use it.

So, I just noticed that there are no anal toys on the list. I don’t think I even reviewed any this year. Not sure what’s up with that but my interest in anal play waxes and wanes so maybe 2015 just wasn’t the year of the butt. Better luck next year.

If you follow me on Twitter then you probably already know about the little side project I’ve got going on. Or maybe you’ve noticed the banner in the right sidebar. But for those of you who do not know, I have created a new blog – That’s Not a Vagina.

Why? Because I was sick to death of hearing people call the vulva, a vagina. Actually, it all started out from some joking between sex bloggers on Twitter. You see, many sex bloggers get irritated when people misidentify the vulva.

Lunabelle from Ninja Sexology, who is a contributing author on the site, posted this tweet and it got the ball rolling.

I started throwing out possible domain names for a site about teaching the difference between vulva and vagina. ThatsNotaVagina.com seemed to stick. It’s easy to remember and has the word “vagina” in it so… people would probably notice it. But at this point it was all still just a joke. I had no real intentions of creating a brand new website.

Then I woke up the next morning and my very first thought was, I must buy the domain, ThatsNotaVagina.com. I announced on Twitter that I’d purchased it and got tons of positive feedback from other sex bloggers. They really all seemed supportive and excited to see what this website would turn out to be.

In three days I had the site up and running with the first post published on 10/19. That posts explains it all – the reason I created the site and what a vulva is, complete with a labeled anatomical diagram. So give that a read if you’re at all interested in this little side project of mine.

If this doesn’t interest you in any way, that’s cool. I’ll still be here testing sex toys and writing reviews.
