California Exotic Novelties Mini Marvels Marvelous Flicker

I don’t think I’ve ever been able to say that I LOVE a California Exotic Novelties toy but here we are. The Mini Marvels Marvelous Flicker earned my adoration the very first time I used it. It delivered orgasms so good that I had an asthma attack (no this isn’t something I strive for, it just happened).

When I was looking at the Mini Marvels line, the one that I thought would work best for me was the Marvelous Teaser and I was very pleased with it. I didn’t think any of the others in the line would do it for me except maybe the Marvelous Flicker. But looking at it, I was a little put off by the whole tongue-vibe thing. I wasn’t interested in that flappity-flap-porno-lingus action that doesn’t really work. Then I read Cy’s review and knew I had to give it a shot.

Marvelous Flicker 2

Much to my relief it doesn’t do that flappity-flap thing at all. In fact, the vibration travels down to that wonderful pointy tip in the most perfect way possible and my clit is a huge fan of vibrating pointy tips. Just like the Teaser, the Marvelous Flicker has a nice, strong, rumbly motor. I am so impressed with what CalEx has done with these vibes and especially at this price point. I’m thrilled that I get to add another vibe to my list of Sex Toys $50 and Under That Don’t Suck™ .

The first time I tried the Marvelous Flicker, I forgot to bring my trusty, go-to, back-up vibe that I usually have on hand if a new toy lets me down and I can’t get off. Turns out, I didn’t need it at all. The second I put the tip of the Flicker on my clit, I knew I had a winner. Just thinking about it makes me want to go rub one out.

Marvelous Flicker 3

I even had an orgasm using a pattern1, if you can believe that. I hate patterns as a general rule but that third, pulsating one actually works for me. It’s hard to believe I’m saying this but the Flicker is almost as good as my go-to vibe, the Lust L2. The only thing that really puts the L2 ahead of the Flicker is that it has incremental speed control, whereas the Flicker only has three set speeds.

The Marvelous Flicker gives me such deep, satisfying orgasms – the kind that make it impossible for me to be discreet. It passes my personal test of delivering multiple orgasms in a sesh and I know if a vibe can do that, it’s a cut above the rest.

Just like the Teaser, the Flicker checks all the boxes, making it an awesome vibe at an awesome price:
Silicone – check
Waterproof – check
Strong and rumbly – check
Rechargeable – check
Travel lock – check
One year warranty – check

This vibe, like most of them out there now, is USB rechargeable so, if you don’t want to use your computer to charge your vibrator, you’ll need one of those A/C to USB adapters.

Marvelous Flicker charger

There really isn’t anything I can complain about. If I absolutely must find something to nitpick… I don’t love the color and it doesn’t come with a storage pouch. If that’s the worst criticism that I can muster then you know I must really love this vibe.

Mini Marvels Marvelous Flicker Measurements

I am just so excited about the Mini Marvels Marvelous Flicker. I want to tell everyone to buy one but you might not want to if you don’t enjoy pin-point vibration. However, if that’s your thing then I truly believe the Flicker could be your jam. I really hope that CalEx continues to make good quality, strong and rumbly vibes like this at this price point. I made sure to let them know that I enthusiastically approve of the Teaser and the Flicker. Hopefully, with that kind of positive feedback, they’ll keep making great vibes like this at more affordable prices.

Marvelous Flicker Box

I’m happy to be doing my first review for Vibrant. When you purchase your sex toys from them, you’re supporting Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains. That’s one big reason why I decided to start working with them. Plus they’re a sex positive, gender inclusive company.

You can always get 10% off your order at Vibrant with code: DIZZY, which means you can get the Marvelous Flicker for $44.99 and they offer free shipping on orders $50+ so, maybe add a bottle of water-based lube.

California Exotic Novelties Marvelous Teaser

To be honest, not a single one of the other designs in the California Exotic Novelties Mini Marvels line looked appealing to me1 but that’s only because I’m a pretty good judge of what my clit likes. Then CalEx released the Marvelous Teaser and it sent my heart aflutter.

I haven’t often been able to say wonderful things about CalEx toys. Once, I was so mean that they decided they didn’t want my opinion anymore (but I really hated that thing). Then again, there was that one time they surprised me with what has become my favorite clit vibe – made by their luxury brand Jopen. So, they do know how to make a good vibrator. And with the Mini Marvels Marvelous Teaser, they nailed it.

This isn’t just a vibe that’s eh… OK for under $50. The Teaser knocks my socks off for under $50. When I embarked on this project to find Sex Toys $50 and Under That Don’t Suck™, I was most excited about trying to find those diamonds in the rough – those toys that shock the shit out of you because they’re so good for such a low price. That’s exactly what I found with the Marvelous Teaser.

Marvelous Teaser 2

The first time I used it, I had one of those orgasms where I’m glad no one was home. Although, I might have scared the cats. I lay there stunned by how good it was. I’d stop right there and declare the Marvelous Teaser a fabulous clit vibe but it also passed my personal test of giving me multiple orgasms in a sesh. Yes!

The Teaser has 3 levels of steady vibration. I’d love to have more but really, the low and medium settings are all I need for toe curling, involuntarily vocalizing orgasms. The high steady setting is a little too much for my clit but it’s not buzzy, which often happens at many vibrator’s high settings.

If you know me, you know I could cast patterns straight to hell but I know some folks enjoy them and the Marvelous Teaser has 7 of them in various rhythms of pulsation and escalation. I’m terrible at describing patterns so, you’ll just have to forgive me for not trying.

CalEx Marvelous Teaser under

I do have to talk about the shape – the good and the… what were they thinking? The great part of the shape is how perfect it is for how my clit likes to be stimulated. That thin tip can nuzzle right up against the side of my clit and it honestly feels like it was custom-made just for me.

CalEx Marvelous Teaser holding

The head-scratcher is how CalEx designed the Marvelous Teaser to be held. They intended for you to hold it between your index and middle finger and I just have to say – NO. It feels awkward and how the hell are you supposed to control the buttons holding it that way?

This weird design thing isn’t a deal breaker though. I just hold it like a normal human being would with my thumb above the buttons. When I first saw the Teaser, it reminded me of the Leaf Life, probably just because of the shape and color. I’m not sure if they were trying to set it apart with that weird design.

Can we talk about the motor in this thing? Right out of the box, I turned it on and it really impressed me with the strength and rumble. I was talking about how impressive it is on Twitter and one of my followers agreed. They said it was so nice to be able to recommend something to their customers that’s under $50, with a strong motor that won’t crap out in under a year. It was validation for me that I judged this vibe correctly.

Marvelous Teaser charger

Like my other favorite little clit vibe, the Marvelous Teaser has it all at a surprisingly low price.
Silicone – check
Waterproof – check
Strong and rumbly – check
Rechargeable – check
Travel Lock2 – check

It doesn’t come with a travel/storage pouch but I suppose I can forgive that. Caring for this vibe is as easy as any other waterproof, silicone vibrator. Antibacterial soap and water works just fine and water-based lube will keep that wonderful tip gliding along your clit nicely.

CalEx Marvelous Teaser size

I rarely care about packaging enough to even mention it but because of this vibe’s price I feel like I have to touch on how substantial it is. It’s not some flimsy box with that cheap plastic mold inside. This feels like a durable box and I even kind of like the kitschy artwork.

CalEx Mini Marvels Marvelous Teaser packaging

The Mini Marvels Marvelous Teaser is the kind of vibe that I daydream about using. Not many vibes do that to me. But I often find myself thinking, “I need to go rub one (or more) out with that thing.” This is definitely one of those fabulous bargains that you’re so excited that you found. I’m really happy to be able to recommend a vibrator that’s this awesome and this affordable. I told CalEx that I want to see more of this. I hope they listen.

I’m trying to find y’all some more affordable sex toys. So, I requested the CalEx Silhouette S12 because it looked interesting and had some nice features. Not that $42 is chump change but in the world of rechargeable silicone vibrators, it’s relatively inexpensive. Can you get cheaper sex toys? Absolutely. But as you go down in cost, you encounter more of the materials that I don’t recommend. So at first glance, the Silhouette S12 looked like a contender.

How did the Silhouette S12 measure up? Well, in a literal sense, it’s kind of petite. Size Royalty will look at this vibe and yawn. But then, the smaller size will be appreciated by some. The bulbous head, which is the fattest part, is about 1.5” in diameter. I actually measured 1.47”. The insertable length is close to 5”, depending on how you measure it, but the product description says 4.25”. Most folks’ G-spot is situated rather shallowly in the vagina so the length is probably sufficient for most.

What do I like? The silicone is so silky and has almost zero drag (more of this please). It’s rechargeable through a magnetic connection and at the contacts, the charging cord is the same color as the toy so, I didn’t lose it in a rat’s nest of charging cords. Also, I had this thing sitting dormant for almost a year and still, when I picked it up and pressed the button, it turned on. I was stunned by that. And it’s waterproof… can’t forget to mention that. It’s important.

Silhouette S12 charger

I wouldn’t say that there’s anything I absolutely hate about this vibrator. To me, it’s kind of mediocre overall. A sex toy newb would probably feel like they didn’t waste their money but an aficionado will likely not be impressed. And that’s largely because of the vibration – both its tone and strength. It’s a little on the buzzier side, with the first setting (lowest steady vibration) feeling the least buzzy. Most folks I talk to want rumblier vibration than this but not everyone – some prefer buzzy. And in terms of power, it ain’t no Swan Wand, that’s for sure. Not everyone needs that kind of power though.

So, those are just my initial observations. What did my vagina think? Let’s just say, I didn’t have a good jerk session, which is not entirely the S12’s fault. I thought I’d go for some dual stimulation with my beloved L2 (if you follow my blog you’re probably tired of me talking about that vibe).

I started out trying to get the feel for using the S12. Once inside my vag, my suspicion was confirmed that I wouldn’t be able to stimulate my G-spot the way I like to. I prefer rigid toys that I can really jam up in there and apply a lot of pressure. The rigid curved ones like the Comet II are great for this and the rocking motion that I sometimes employ.

You can’t really do that with the Silhouette S12. The bulbous head is rigid but the shaft is flexible so it’s just not compatible with my way of jerking off. I think you need to use more of a subtle in and out movement with this vibe. By doing that, I was able to get some G-spot stimulation, just not as intense as I like. If you like more subtle G-spot stimulation and the Pure Wand terrifies you then the S12 should be a good fit.

So, things are moving along and starting to feel like I could have an orgasm and… the L2’s battery dies (sad trombone), leaving me quite frustrated. Doing the only thing I could at the moment, I pulled the S12 from my vag and started using it on my clit. It wasn’t easy but I was able to squeak out an orgasm. It just doesn’t nuzzle my clit the way I like my clit vibrators to do and as I mentioned before, the tone of the vibration isn’t right for me.

Silhouette S12 button

I think as reviewer, I have a certain amount of privilege. We do get to try the best of the best in sex toys but they’re usually at a much higher price than the Silhouette S12. I don’t know how much this privilege is affecting my overall evaluation of this vibe.

I’m going to say that this toy might be good for a beginner and I hate using that phrase. However, I’m not recommending it to a newb because I think it sucks (which some people will do) but because I think they’d be more satisfied with it. They’re not as jaded as I am. If you’ve used sex toys a long time and you’ve refined your taste, you probably won’t be too impressed with the Silhouette S12.

In a nutshell… it ain’t bad. I can’t give it a glowing review but I do like it for the features you get at the price.

If you want the CalEx Silhouette S12, you can get it from PeepShow Toys and get a 10% discount with code DIZZY. If this vibe doesn’t appeal to you, check out my picks page for some of my favorite toys. And don’t forget the water-based lube to use with this or any other silicone sex toy.

Entice Natalie

Horrible. Simply horrible. And I knew it would be from the moment I laid eyes on it. From its 2 AAA battery power source to its stabby little rabbit ears… it’s all just so awful. Finding a compatible rabbit vibe for me is tricky and I would never have chosen this one. But that’s part of the Cal Ex Sexpert review program – it’s kind of like a box of chocolates and you never know what you’re going to get. In this case, someone dropped a giant deuce in the chocolate box.

The Entice Natalie doesn’t even come close to fitting me right but that isn’t the only reason I hate it. I resent those bunny ears. I really do. Have those things ever worked for anyone? And these particular rabbit ears are stiff and stabby, which did not feel good just below my clit where they jabbed me incessantly. I mean, unless you’re a masochist (and if you are, that’s cool) a vibrator should not create stabby sensations on your delicate bits. For a moment I was compelled to commit horrible acts of violence against this vibe, just like I did to this one. I really wanted to amputate those wretched ears but I knew it really wouldn’t make this vibe suck any less. This is another one of those rabbit vibes that are made for folks with short spacing between their vagina and clit. I am not one of those people.

Entice Natalie handle

I’ve reviewed a few things from Cal Ex’s Entice line and haven’t been really impressed with any of them. They’re cheaper vibes and I know we need options for those who can’t afford luxury vibrators but I can’t help it if they suck. My advice is always to save up and get something that will last and won’t let you down. I wouldn’t recommend this vibe even as a low cost option. I just don’t know what kind of person it would actually work well for and I don’t want people thinking that this is how sex toys are… that this is how they’re supposed to feel. I think you deserve so much better than what this vibe can offer you.

I think the Natalie might be a touch rumblier than the other Entice vibes I reviewed1 – which were predictably weak and buzzy. But I can’t compare the vibrations since I cared so little for the others that I gave them all away… for free. So, if the fact that it is ill fitting, has stabby ears and lackluster vibration wasn’t enough, there’s also  not much of a handle and that makes it awkward to hold onto.do not want

I was getting kind of angry trying to make this thing work for me the way it is intended while avoiding being stabbed by the god awful ears. Then I thought to myself, why am I doing this? Why try so hard to make a sucky vibe work for me, even a little? But then I felt challenged by the damn thing to make it induce an orgasm somehow and used it in a way it’s not really designed for. I pulled it out of my vag and used the tip of the shaft on my clit. It’s like, somewhere in my mind I could not accept that this vibe, as awful as it may be, would fail in giving me an orgasm. It was like a personal goal to get off with the stupid thing. It did finally give me an orgasm using it that way. It wasn’t very enjoyable getting there and once it arrived, it was a weak pitiful little thing… just a total let down.

The specs on this vibe? It’s silicone, waterproof, easy to clean, has 3 levels of steady vibration and 7 patterns, is available in 3 uninspired colors, comes in a flimsy box and has no storage pouch. If you do decide to get this2, water-based lube is probably the safest choice since some silicone-based lube can sometimes damage some silicone sex toys.

Natalie sucks

And that’s about it. That’s all I really have to say about this vibe. I don’t like it… not one single thing3. It doesn’t fit me and it hurts my delicate bits. I would not have chosen this vibe for myself because it just looks like one that wouldn’t work for me and the reality is that it doesn’t. Big surprise there. But even though I knew it was going to be a total disaster, I still tried to go into testing it with an open mind because, ya just never know. Right? However, I was not pleasantly surprised by this vibe. It did what I thought it would and felt like I knew it would. And I don’t even know who I could recommend it to. All I can really say is, better luck next time. Maybe someday I’ll find that low priced diamond in the rough.

Update: This vibe needed another strike against it like I need another hole in my head but… I washed and dried it in preparation of storing it away forever and ever.  I went to remove the batteries and there was a lot of moisture in the battery compartment.  So, I’m not really confident in the claim that it’s waterproof.  Is there anything left that positively doesn’t suck?

Want to check out a Cal Ex vibe that I did really like? Take a look at the Embrace G Wand. It’s going to cost more than anything in the Entice line but it’s actually a really good vibe.

Cal Ex Entice Vivien

The affordable, body-safe rabbit vibrator with strong rumbly motors is a somewhat mythical creature. I haven’t yet seen proof that they exist but I keep looking because ever since that TV show about women having sex in city, that made the rabbit vibe wildly popular, it continues to be a toy a lot of people want. Having tried a few, I really don’t know what all the fuss is about. You often have fit problems where its parts and your parts just don’t line up.

Personally, based on all the dual stim vibes I’ve tried, I’d rather just go at it two handed, even though I have found a dual stimulator that fits my anatomy – the Jopen Vr 5.5 – I’m still gonna go for the dildo or vibrator in one hand and a clit vibe in the other. No rabbit vibe has even come close to giving me the kind of orgasms I get using two separate toys. But as a reviewer, I feel it is my duty to keep trying dual stimulators because you never know, there might be one out there that convinces me that masturbating one handed is the way to go. So, in my search for that affordable, body-safe rabbit vibe, I gave the Cal Ex Entice Vivien the chance to wow me.  And it did not.

The first time I tried the Vivien, I walked away thinking… eh, not so bad but not so great. It doesn’t fit my anatomy quite right. I have to sort of smoosh my bits down with my fingers to get the clit arm to touch me where I want it to. It did manage to get me off but that isn’t necessarily the yardstick by which I measure the merits of a sex toy.

The second time I tried didn’t go as well as the first. Maybe because I was noticing all the things I don’t like about it. The way the Vivien fits me, the clit arm clamps down a bit too hard and it’s uncomfortable. I think it would be better if it flexed more easily. But that’s not the worst thing about this vibrator. No, the worst thing is the weak and buzzy vibration. It’s that annoying, prickly feeling, surface level vibration. This is one of those toys where I’m thoroughly convinced that’s it’s not worth trying for a third time. It wouldn’t change my opinion.

Most folks with a vulva that I’ve talked to tend to prefer strong rumbly vibrations that penetrate deep down to stimulate the internal parts of the clitoris and I am no exception. Weak, buzzy vibrations piss me off and often give me that itchy sensation or make just me numb. I haven’t yet heard anyone say that they prefer weak and buzzy vibrators but if you do then you might like this one, provided it fits your anatomy and with rabbit vibes, that’s always a crap shoot.

I think Cal Ex had the chance to make this a decent affordable, body-safe rabbit vibe but the motors are where they failed. They just don’t provide the kind of stimulation that I think most folks are looking for. It does have a lot of things going for it though – independently controlled dual motors, body safe silicone and plastic construction and it’s rechargeable. But none of that really matters if the vibration doesn’t feel good. So, I guess my quest for the elusive affordable, body-safe, rumbly rabbit vibe continues.

This is the point where you can stop reading if you don’t like weak and buzzy vibrators but on the off chance that someone does, I’ll give you some of the particulars.

The Vivien has two buttons to independently control the motors. You press and hold to turn them on and keep pressing to cycle through three levels of steady vibration and 5 patterns. Press and hold to turn the motors off. The packaging states that this vibrator is supposed to warm up to 104°F. I guess I kind of notice it a little but it’s not anything that really improved the experience. I wonder if it’s just the motors radiating heat and they decided to call it a feature.

Entice Vivien Buttons Charger

The USB charging cable magnetically connects to the buttons through which the vibrator is charged. When charging a light that’s kind of hard to see because it’s under the large-ish magnetic connector comes on. There is no documentation about charging time or run time.

You can clean this vibrator with soap and water or a toy cleaner. Sanitizing can be accomplished by cleansing in a 10% bleach solution and rinsing well with water. As with all silicone sex toys, it’s safest to use water-based lube because some silicone-based lube and some silicone toys are incompatible.

Let’s see, what else?  It’s waterproof, comes in pink, raspberry (purple) and purple and does not have a storage pouch.

So, it looks like I’m going to have to keep on searching for that affordable, body-safe, rumbly rabbit vibe. Not so much because I really want one since, like I said, I think two handed masturbation works way better anyway and that’s what I would recommend to my readers. But I know folks out there want rabbit vibes so I’d like to be able to find one I can recommend1. Unfortunately, the Entice Vivien isn’t that rabbit vibe but I’ll let ya’ll know if I find one.

CalEx Mix It Up

Participating in CalExotics’ Sexpert program, I am eligible to get a new sex toy to review every month, as long as I get them done on time, which I haven’t been great at lately. You get to make a wish-list but there’s no guarantee that you will receive anything on it. I haven’t so far. So, it’s very likely that something totally random will show up on my door step and it might not necessarily be something I would have chosen for myself. That was the case with the CalEx Mix It Up vibrator that I received for review. It really wasn’t something I could get excited about, which might account for my delay in reviewing it.

Well, it’s nice to know that I can still be surprised. I wasn’t expecting much from the Mix It Up, especially since it runs on AAA batteries. Vibrators like that are often weaker than I like. I won’t say that this vibrator is a powerful one by any means but it’s really not terrible. Power queens need not concern themselves with this vibrator but for more sensitive folks, this vibrator just might do it for you. It did it for me, totally unexpectedly.

The vibrations lie somewhere toward the middle of buzzy and rumbly, leaning slightly more toward the buzzy side, though not extremely so. It isn’t a numbing kind of vibration at all. The Mix It Up feels pretty good internally and I do get some mild G-spot stimulation out of it. When I pair it up with a clit vibe I do achieve moderately intense blended orgasms. Not the kind of orgasms that have me seeing stars but still quite enjoyable. There are some undulating ribs that swirl around the middle of the shaft and it’s a very subtle texture. My vagina is very particular about texture and it didn’t seem to mind. This vibrator is not squishy at all. It’s silicone over hard plastic, which I tend to prefer since it allows me to put strong pressure on my G-spot.

Where this vibrator really shines for me though, is on my clit. I was totally caught of guard by how good it felt. It had me approaching orgasm pretty quickly. The vibration is concentrated toward the end and that slightly pointed tip nestles down between my labia very comfortably. The orgasm came with relative ease. I’ve had to work a lot harder with much more expensive vibrators. I was in disbelief that this vibrator could get me off so easily. Just goes to show that you can’t always judge something without trying it.

CalEX Mix It Up

The Mix It Up is made of body-safe silicone and plastic and it’s waterproof so, it’s easy to clean. Soap and water will work, as would a toy cleaner. If you need to sanitize it, you can bathe it in a 10% bleach solution. It’s probably best to use water-based lube with this vibrator since some silicone lube can damage some silicone sex toys.

I do have a couple of complaints about this vibrator. First of all, it’s loud. I mean, really loud. If discretion is required then maybe this won’t be the vibrator for you. Then there’s the button. It’s big and it’s sensitive. I’m constantly turning it on by accident. So, that could also be a problem if you need discretion. It’s also annoying when you bump it ever so slightly while you’re using it and it switches to the next mode.

The vibrator starts on high steady vibration, then goes to medium and low. It feels counterintuitive and it’s a small annoyance. There are 7 patterns of varying pulsation and escalation. CalEx names them – Gradient Burst, Intermittent, Surge, Inta-Surge, Even Step, Roller Coaster Spurt and Pulsate. Press and hold the button at any time to turn it off. When you turn it back on, it will start in the mode that comes after the one you were on when you shut it off.

The packaging for the Mix It Up is very minimal and not really suitable for storage. You also don’t get a storage pouch. I find that a zip-lock bag works fairly well. The silicone has a powder soft matte finish that has very little drag and it’s not a lint magnet. This vibrator measures about 7 inches in total length with 4.5 inches from the tip to the silver band where the cap twists on. It has an average size girth of 1.35 inches at the widest point. There are three color choices – Pink, Purple and Teal.

CalEx Mix It Up colors

I absolutely was not expecting to like this vibrator but guess what… I do. Truthfully, it’s not going to replace my favorite rechargeable luxury vibrators but really, for the price of this thing, it’s actually not bad. I think experienced sex toy enthusiasts might be bored with it but I honestly think this would be good for a beginner who’s trying to figure out what they like.1 If you are a beginner, just know that there are much more powerful vibrators out there but the Mix It Up is a good place to start, if you want to try a vibrator that’s body-safe and inexpensive… but good luck finding a place that sells it. I couldn’t find it at any of my affiliates but you can get it on Amazon (which I normally don’t recommend) but beware, it looks like some merchants are charging a ridiculous price for this vibrator. I don’t think it should be a penny over $30 and I found it priced much lower than that.

I can describe the Cal Ex Entice Olivia in two words – weak and buzzy. I wish I could end the review there but I feel I owe more than that to my readers and my sponsor but really, I don’t know what more I can say about this vibrator. It did absolutely nothing for me.

I think the Entice Olivia is meant to stimulate the G-spot but it doesn’t do it for me at all. Internally, I need a lot stronger and deeper vibration than this. In fact, my clit doesn’t even like this vibrator and it’s a lot easier to please than my G-spot. Also, the neck of this vibrator is too flexible so, I can’t apply enough pressure against my G-spot. Combine weak, buzzy vibration with little pressure and I’m just left frustrated.

olivia2

So, I toss it aside in favor of my beloved Mona 2 and maybe I’m spoiled by that vibrator but even objectively, I can’t find anything to like about the Olivia. Granted, it might not be fair to compare the two when the Olivia runs on two AAA batteries and is at a much lower price point but even compared to similar vibrators, I rank this one pretty low. I’ve felt stronger vibration from other vibes that take AAA batteries. This one is exceptionally weak.

So, who would I recommend this vibrator to? Uhm, pretty much no one. Some would say that this is a good vibrator for beginners but I just can’t. I would hate for someone totally new to sex toys to get this vibrator, have it do absolutely nothing for them and walk away thinking that’s just how sex toys are and lose interest in trying anything else. So, unless you’re just super sensitive and you were overwhelmed by other sex toys then this might possibly be what you’re looking for. I don’t even know about that though. I can’t imagine how incredibly sensitive you’d have to be to get any pleasure out of this vibrator.

olivia

If after reading that, you’re still interested I’ll give you the specifics on this vibrator. It is made of body safe materials and that’s about the only pro I can give it. The body is made entirely of silicone with a plastic cap to the battery compartment at the end. These materials are nonporous and phthalates free. So, it might not get you off but at least it won’t make you sick. You can wash it in antibacterial soap and water or use a toy cleaner. To sanitize it, you can wash it in a 10% bleach solution. It’s probably a good idea to use water-based lube with this vibrator because some silicone-based lube can damage some silicone toys.

oliviacolorsThere are two buttons, one for power and the other scrolls through the various modes. It has three levels of steady vibration and they all feel annoyingly buzzy. There are also five patterns of pulsations in various arrangements and tempos. The Olivia is waterproof and comes in 3 colors – pink, purple and raspberry. It measures 1.2” in diameter around the head, tapers to just under 1” in diameter mid-shaft and is 6.75” long end to end. The packaging is very minimal and it does not include a storage pouch.

I know that not every sex toy will be suited for everyone but the Entice Olivia just leaves me frustrated and bored. It’s the kind of vibrator that’s hard to write a review for because I am so totally indifferent about it. I can’t in good conscience recommend this vibrator to anyone except maybe, and that’s a big maybe, those who are overwhelmingly sensitive. If you’re one of those people then this vibrator might not be all that bad but if you get and hate it, please don’t blame me.

The Entice Olivia was provided by a company I no longer work with, in exchange for an unbiased review.

You’re probably not going to believe me but the Embrace G Wand is from Cal Ex and it’s… good. Alright, I guess I shouldn’t give Cal Ex such a hard time but I was totally surprised by how much I like the Embrace G. It’s true, they can make some, how do I say it, less than thrilling toys but what they’ve done with the Embrace G gives me hope. It reminds me a lot of their luxury brand, Jopen. It is priced a bit higher than a lot of their other toys but I think that’s for good reason.

When I saw the Embrace G, I immediately thought of one of my favorite sex toys, the Jopen Key Comet Wand. The head on the Embrace G isn’t as pronounced and bulbous as the Comet’s and the curve is a little different but there’s a resemblance and that’s probably why I was so curious to try it.

The Embrace G doesn’t entirely work for me in all the ways I think it was intended to but I still really like it for the stimulation I can get out of it. It has three motors. That’s right, three. One feels like it’s near the end, one in the middle of the shaft and one in what I assume is supposed to be a clitoral stimulating hump. The hump doesn’t work for me at all. This vibrator doesn’t fit my anatomy in a way that I can get G spot stimulation while also getting clitoral stimulation from the hump. I’m just not built that way. I suppose maybe there are some women who could achieve it but the thing is, to get the hump to reach my clit, I have to pull up on the handle. This forces the head down and away from my G spot. Conversely, to get G spot stimulation, I have to push down on the handle but that pulls the hump far away from my clit. That’s OK though because with the handle pushed down, giving me G spot stimulation, there’s plenty of room for me to add a clit vibe to the mix if I want to. So, I forgive the Embrace G for not working with my anatomy exactly like I think the designers intended it to.

Since I can’t achieve dual stimulation with the Embrace G, you might be thinking that the extra two motors are a total waste and I would think so too, if I hadn’t felt this vibe for myself. There’s something very interesting that happens with all three motors running. They start to resonate back and forth and this creates a sensation that is different from other vibrators I’ve tried. It’s this resonating effect that won me over. So, even though the vibrator in the clitoral hump isn’t touching me anywhere when I use the vibrator, it adds to the unique sensation I get from these resonating vibrations that travel entirely through it. The middle vibrator feels like it hits me right at my vaginal entrance and that also produces sensations that I don’t get from other vibrators. So, I guess you could say I’m a big fan of the triple motors.

Internally, this vibrator feels great. The vibrations have a nice tone and aren’t too buzzy… and then there’s that incredible resonating effect. The vibration is fairly strong as well but to put it in perspective, I wouldn’t say they’re quite as strong as the LELO Mona 2. But this is definitely not a sad little wimpy vibrator. I wouldn’t like it as much as I do if it were. The real surprise is, as much as I like to use this vibrator internally, I think my clit likes it even more. I’m not talking about using the clitoral hump. I use the head of this vibrator on my clit and it feels fantastic. I know I keep going on about it but, it’s that resonating vibration from the triple motors that really gets me.

IMG_1746

Now I know I’ve said more than once that I prefer more focused, pin point vibration on my clit and you’re probably thinking there’s no way I could get that out of the head of this vibrator which is, decidedly not pointy. When a vibrator is strong and rumbly enough I can touch it very lightly to my glans and it feels like I’m getting pin point stimulation. Since my clit prefers a light touch, this works for me but I think if you like to apply pressure to your clit, you could easily do that with this vibrator as well.

The Embrace G has 7 functions: 6 patterns plus steady vibration that has 6 levels of intensity. One thing you can’t do with this vibrator, that I think was a missed opportunity, is control the three motors independently. Say for instance, you want to turn off the motors in the hump and in the middle, leaving the one in the tip running. You can’t do that. They are all running at the same time and you can’t independently control the intensity of each vibrator either. They’re all going to be running at the same intensity. To add such sophisticated controls would no doubt, increase the price of this vibrator and I don’t know that those functions are totally needed but I know many of you would probably be wondering if this vibrator had those capabilities.

The first three patterns are the only time the three motors work independently of each other but you have no control over that. Instead, they are three speeds of the motors pulsing in succession – 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3… And for some odd reason, it really reminds me of this. My mind makes bizarre associations sometimes. The other three patterns are combinations of pulses and escalations with all three motors vibrating in unison. You can adjust the intensity of the patterns which is a feature that you normally only find on more upscale vibrators. The patterns are fun and all but where this vibrator shines is with all three motors running steadily and the intensity turned all the way up; producing that resonating effect I won’t shut up about.

picFrame (4)

There are three buttons. Press and hold the middle button to turn it on. Then press and hold the + button to increase intensity. Press and hold the – button to decrease intensity. You can also quickly press the buttons to change the intensity incremenatlly. To cycle through the functions, press the center button repeatedly. To shut the vibrator off, press and hold the center button.

The Embrace G is waterproof so it’s easy to clean and safe to use in the bath or shower. You can use antibacterembracegial soap and water to clean it or a toy cleaner. To sanitize it, you can bathe it in a 10% bleach solution. This vibrator is made of plastic and silicone which are body safe, phthalates free, nonporous materials. The rule of thumb for silicone sex toys is to use water-based lube and the instruction sheet specifies it. It comes in two colors – wait for it…. pink and purple! The Embrace G is 1.5” in diameter at the thickest point and measured along the inside curve, it is 4.38” long from the tip to the clitoral hump.

This vibrator is USB rechargeable which is great if you like to charge your sex toys through your computer. I really don’t care for it so, I use a USB to A/C adapter (which is not included). You’re supposed to fully charge the Embrace G before your first use. While charging, the indicator light flashes and when charging is complete, it glows steady. It takes about 2 hours to reach a full charge and from that it will run on high for 2 hours and low for 5 hours.

The packaging is more substantial than a lot of Cal Ex products but you don’t get a storage pouch. There is a foam insert with a place to hold the vibrator and the charging cord. If you find the box takes up too much room to store it in, you could always just use a ziplock bag.

picFrame (5)

I have to give Cal Ex credit on this one. The Embrace G Wand produces a unique resonating vibration from its three motors and my body really seems to respond to it. It doesn’t quite work out as a dual stimulator but it gives me nice G-spot stimulation. I also love how it feels when I use the head of it on my clit. I have no reservations recommending this vibrator and I think it can suit a wide range of preferences.

The Embrace G Wand was provided in exchange by a retailer no longer in business, in exchange for my unbiased review.

Using the Cal Exotics Entice Lillian is like déjà vu all over again. I’m running into the same problem I had with the last rabbit style vibrator I tried. The clitoral arm doesn’t reach my clit. It hits me just below where I need it. So obviously, since it doesn’t fit my body, I can’t give it a glowing review but at the same time, I don’t think it’s all that bad either.

Getting a rabbit vibe that fits you can be tough. I assume that manufacturer’s design them according to the measurements of the average vulva. Based on the experiences I’ve had so far, I’m led to believe that my clitoris sits a bit higher on my vulva than average (I’ll have to investigate this further one day). So, whether or not a rabbit vibe fits you is going to depend a lot on the length of the clitoral arm and also its angle relative to the shaft of the vibrator. Pretty complicated things to try to figure out when all you want to do is buy a vibrator. And even if you did make measurements of your vulva, you usually can’t have access to the vibe and don’t have the chance to take it from its packaging to measure it. And who’s going to take calipers and a protractor into a sex shop anyway? Well, I would actually but I’m a weirdo.

So, is it even worth bothering with rabbit vibes at all? I’m not sure about that myself. I keep thinking: maybe the next one will fit right and you never know until you try. That’s all fine and good if you’re getting them in exchange for reviews but it’s a whole different story when you’re spending your hard earned cash. I wish I had something more encouraging to tell you. But I really think the fact is, finding the right rabbit vibe is just going to be mostly trial and error.

SE-4734-25-3_4One thing that would help in my case is an adjustable clitoral arm. Since they hit me too low, it would be nice to have the ability to angle them up slightly. Then just push the shaft in a little deeper and voil`a, I’d have contact with my clit. But I have a sneaking suspicion that even if I could get the clit arm in place, the G spot location will be thrown off. Tedious business, these rabbit vibes. I’m thinking two separate toys are my best bet for dual stimulation. But maybe you shouldn’t take my gloom and doom to heart. You might just hit the bulls eye with the first rabbit vibe you buy. It could happen like that. But I just want to share my perspective so women know that they can run into these problems. I have heard that there are some rabbit vibes on the market with adjustable clitoral arms and I’d be really interested in trying one of those.

So OK, enough with the complaining about fit. I think you get the point. Even though it didn’t fit me, I think generally this is still a decent little vibrator. Now I’m not saying it compares to some of my more expensive, rechargeable luxury vibes but for what it is, it’s not bad. I actually kind of like the tone of the vibration in the clitoral arm. The low and medium steady vibration modes are actually a bit rumbly but unfortunately not as intense as I’d like. But still when I turn this vibrator over, upside down to where the top of the clit arm is against my clit (the only way I can get this vibe to work for me), it feels quite nice. Speaking of the clit arm, I just have to say that I’m so glad it’s not shaped like a bunny, dolphin or butterfly. I’m not really sure what it looks like, maybe something alien but I’m just happy that Cal Exotics recognized that it doesn’t need to be a cutesy animal tickling my clit.

I love the very beginning of the first pattern. It’s like thuddy…thump thump thump and I wish the entire rhythm stayed like that but it continues to ramp up in intensity and into a buzzy vibration, then it drops and repeats. It would be perfect if I could just lock in the beginning of that pattern and play it over and over. I’ve noticed that the strongest vibration is felt in the clit arm and it gets weaker out toward the tip of the shaft. The packaging says there are two motors but I still don’t feel as much in the shaft as I do in the arm.

I think this vibrator is kind of loud. It has an interesting sound, especially on the high steady mode where you can hear it start to resonate. The geek in me thinks it’s pretty cool but someone trying to be discreet might not appreciate it. The first time I turned the Lillian on, dizzyguy said it sounded like it was going to come apart. I wouldn’t go quite that far but it does sound unusual.

I am strangely mesmerized by how the little clit ticklers move on the various patterns. I don’t know why it amuses me but it does so, I thought I’d share and maybe if we’re lucky, some of the sound will come through too.

lillian 4This vibrator uses 2 AAA batteries that are snapped into a small plastic tray that slides into the battery compartment and the cap twists shut. The Lillian is waterproof and made of body safe materials like silicone and plastic. They are safe because they’re hypoallergenic, nonporous and contain no latex or phthalates. Being nonporous means you can sanitize this vibrator in a 10% bleach solution or for everyday cleaning, antibacterial soap and water work fine, as does a toy cleaner. The silicone has a matte finish and minimal drag on the skin. It feels kind of soft and velvety. As usual with silicone sex toys, it’s advised that you use water based lube only because some silicone based lubes can damage some silicone toys. Notice, I said “some”. I have successfully used silicone lube on silicone toys with no damage occurring. It’s up to you if you want to risk it. If you do, just spot test a small, out of the way area to make sure the two are compatible.

The Lillian has a single push button that turns it on and cycles through the various functions: 4 patterns and 3 levels of steady vibration. You hold the button for alillian couple of seconds to turn it off. While in use, the cap illuminates and pulsates along with the vibration. You can get this vibrator in two colors: Purple and Raspberry. The packaging is very basic and not a great option for storage and it doesn’t come with a pouch but ziplock bags work fine for me. As with all battery operated vibes, you should remove the batteries if you’re not going to be using it for a long time. Left unused, batteries inside a vibe can corrode and ruin it. The Lillian is about 6” from end to end and only 2” from the tip to the first clit tickler finger thingy. The shaft is 1” in diameter.

The Entice Lillian doesn’t work for me but so what? It might work for you. And there’s no way that I can tell you whether it will or won’t. But if you luck out and it fits, then I think you’ve got a decent little vibrator at a reasonable cost. It could stand to have a bit more length and girth on the shaft but if you have a shallow G spot and don’t yearn to feel full then the dimensions might be just right for you.

One look at the Roxy sent me into a fit of laughter. My first thoughts were: Am I supposed to lasso my clit with this thing? And would that make me some kind of clit wrangler? Does my clit even want to be corralled?  I usually prefer stroking vibrators up and down my clit so I didn’t have much hope that this vibrator was going to work for me. But of course, I will try something and give it a fair chance before I pass final judgment on it. So, I did and… it’s pretty much what I expected.

The little loopy thing on the end did absolutely nothing for me. For starters, you really don’t feel much vibration in the loop. Plus, I just don’t think encircling my clit is how it likes to be stimulated. I tried putting the body of the vibrator (where you feel most of the vibration) against my clit and rubbing up and down, which usually works with other vibrators but, no luck. I just think the loop concept is all wrong for me and the weak, buzzy vibration didn’t help. So the Roxy is pretty much a total bust for me.

I usually try to find some good traits in a sex toy, even if I didn’t like it, because I know we’re all unique individuals and respond to different things. But I’m having a really hard time coming up with anything. Well OK, there are a couple of things I don’t hate about it. It’s waterproof and made of silicone and plastic. So, it’s going to be easy to clean and safe for your body. The materials used in this vibrator don’t contain latex or phthalates and are nonporous so, you can sterilize it in a 10% bleach solution. For routine cleaning, antibacterial soap and water are fine or, you could use a toy cleaner. You’ll also want to use water based lube with this one since some silicone lubes can damage some silicone toys.

So, I’m glad it’s made of safe materials but I can’t recommend it based on that alone. When I try to consider who this vibrator might work for, all I can come up with is maybe, possibly those who are very, very sensitive and can’t tolerate most other vibrators. Then and only then, do I think the loop thingy has any chance of getting someone off. You also gotta ask yourself if encircling your clit is the way to go in the first place. Obviously in my case, it is not. My clit likes to be stimulated right on top of its head, not all around it.

The Roxy uses one AA battery and has two buttons. One button is for power and the other cycles through its 10 modes, which consist of 7 patterns and 3 levels of steady vibration. Interestingly, the patterns on this vibrator are the same as those of another Cal Exotics vibrator I reviewed awhile back. This vibrator wasn’t strong enough for me in any of the modes and I’ve been known to get off on some pretty weak buzzy vibes but not this one. It comes in one color, soft lavender. So, I know many of you will be thrilled about that. It doesn’t come with a storage pouch (but a ziplock baggie works) and, It’s relatively quiet but for its lack of power, you’d expect it to be.

Overall, the Roxy was pretty disappointing but I can’t say that surprised me. Once I felt the weak vibration, I was pretty sure it wasn’t going to give me orgasms. It is very affordably priced at around $25 so, if you’re really very sensitive, you might decide to give this a try and it wouldn’t be a huge loss if it underwhelmed you. I don’t know much about Dr. Laura Berman but I think she missed the mark on this one.
