Pipedream Ceramix No. 6

Do you like warm dildos? Then you’ll love Pipedream’s Ceramix dildos. They make great chilled dildos too, for that matter. As the name would imply, Ceramix toys are made of… ceramic. It’s an uncommon material for sex toys but it’s a great one because it’s nonporous and phthalates free. The Ceramix line has vibrators and butt plugs as well as these really cool (or warm) dildos. The secret to the butt plugs and dildos is that they’re hollow with a plug in the base. This lets you fill them with warm water from the tap or, chill them in the fridge, making for some outstanding temperature play. And even when you’re not in the mood for warm or cold, they still make great plugs and dildos all on their own. You can use ’em with or without the water.

The first Ceramix toy I tried was the No. 5 and I LOVE it. Filling it with warm water creates such a sensuous and relaxing sensation. It really feels like you’re getting some kind of therapeutic massage – in your vagina. I think the No. 5 is a wonderful dildo and I wholeheartedly recommend it.

The next Ceramix toy that I reviewed was the No. 9. This one is a vibrator and you can’t fill those with water. You could soak them in warm water or chill them in the fridge but it’s just not the same experience that you get from the dildos. The verdict? I didn’t like it. At all. The shape of it offered me nothing and the vibration was too weak for my tastes so, I really can’t recommend that one.

Now I have the No. 6 and how do I feel about it? I LOVE it. Probably just as much as the No. 5. They’re really very similar. The biggest difference I notice is that the No. 6 doesn’t give me quite as much G-spot stimulation as the No. 5 but I still think it’s pretty awesome. Using it filled with warm water gives me that same therapeutic massage-like feeling that I get with the No. 5. It is so incredibly relaxing. I just feel all the tension melt away when I’m using these dildos. The material retains the temperature for a good long time too, just like your ceramic cup keeps your coffee warm, and I haven’t had any problem with the water leaking out while I’m using them. I recommend the No. 6 every bit as much as the No. 5. I think which one you get largely depends on how much G-spot stimulation you’d like or, maybe since they’re so affordable, you could get both. They look really cool sitting on your dresser or nightstand too – if you can get away will leaving dildos lying about.

Ceramic is a great sex toy material. It starts out porous but once it’s glazed and fired, it becomes nonporous, which means it can be sanitized with a 10% bleach solution. Ceramic sex toys can also simply be washed with antibacterial soap and water or, you could use a toy cleaner. Just make sure the No. 6 is completely dry on the inside before you put the plug back in the base.

Another great thing about ceramic is that you can use any kind of lube you prefer. Water, silicone and oil-based lubes are all compatible and with the sleek finish that comes from the glaze, the Ceramix toys get nice and slippery for your thrusting pleasure.

There’s really only one concern I have with the Ceramix toys, especially the dildos (and I presume the butt plugs). They feel a lot more delicate than a solid glass toy. I just get the feeling that they would chip or crack more easily if not handled with care. I’m not implying that these toys will break in your vagina (or ass), I just suggest that you handle them carefully while cleaning and store them in a way that protects them. It’s a good idea to inspect them for damage prior to using them. Also, don’t pour boiling hot water into them or, put them in the freezer.

The No. 6 is 8.88 inches long with about 7.75 inches of insertable length. It is 1.75 inches in diameter at the base, tapering to 1.5 inches in diameter at the head and gives me a modestly full sensation. Since it is a rigid material, it might feel a bit larger than a squishy silicone toy of the same size. This dildo is harness compatible (so you can share the warmth) and it should be safe to use anally since it has a flared base. The gentle ripples provide a very subtle texture that I mainly notice at my vaginal entrance as I thrust. And, in case I haven’t already made it abundantly clear, I adore the warmth that radiates from this dildo when I fill it with water.

The Ceramix toys are very unique. I haven’t seen anything else quite like them and in fact, you won’t find very many ceramic sex toys out there at all. Maybe that will change once it catches on just how great these dildos really are. I wasn’t very impressed by the Ceramix vibrator I tried but I think the No. 5 and No. 6 dildos create sensations that are not to be missed and the price point makes them virtually irresistible.

A ceramic vibrator? You just know I had to have one. I really liked Pipedream’s Ceramix No. 5 dildo so, I was curious about the vibrators from that line. The fact that this vibrator looks like something from Super Mario Bros. made me want it even more (and of course I had to photochop it). Sadly, the Ceramix No. 9 did not do one good thing for me and I don’t like a single thing about it, other than how it looks. OK, the cool sleek ceramic was kind of nice but the shape isn’t great and the vibration is weak… and I don’t know anyone who buys vibrators just to look at them.

The Ceramix No. 9 really just bored me to tears. There was just… nothingness. No stimulation whatsoever. The shape did nothing to stimulate me vaginally and the vibration is so weak that there’s no way it could arouse my G-spot or even bring me to clitoral orgasm. I would be seriously disappointed had I purchased this vibrator for myself, instead of receiving it in exchange for a review.ceramixno9

About the only thing I can say that’s sort of positive about it (depending on your preferences) is that it’s a touch girthy at 1.6″ in diameter (and 5.5″ long, insertable).  The gradually tapered tip, does make it easier to work the girth into you. So, if you struggle with larger toys and you want to try something that’s easier to insert, this might do it. The smooth glossy ceramic finish means it slides in with very little lube.  And if you don’t need very strong vibration then this might very well work for you but really, don’t expect much from the vibration.

It feels like Pipedream used the same vibrator in the No. 9 as they did in the Pure Aluminium Large Blue Vibrator (except the Large Blue has no patterns), which also underwhelmed me.  The No. 9 has 3 levels of steady vibration and 3 patterns.  The vibration isn’t really buzzy but it’s just too weak to do anything for me.

There is a single button and you have to cycle through all the functions to turn it off. It takes 4 AAA batteries and it’s waterproof. You would think that since it’s waterproof and made of nonporous body safe materials, it would be easy to clean and it would be if not for the gap between the ceramic body and the plastic base. It’s a good place for lube and body fluids to collect and get gross so, I use a toothbrush to clean it out. Antibacterial soap and water is all you really need for cleaning or you could use a toy cleaner. To sanitize it, you can submerge it in a 10% bleach solution. Any kind of lube you want to use with it should be fine.

The No. 9 isn’t whisper quiet but it’s also not unusually loud. It does not come with a storage pouch but the box is sturdy and there is a large chunk of foam that holds the vibrator securely in the box. There is no warranty with this vibrator.

I appreciate the No. 9’s whimsy and the sensation of the glossy ceramic but beyond that, there’s just nothing else I like about it. I am happy I had the opportunity to review it but I’m glad I didn’t purchase it myself and I really can’t recommend it. However, if you want to try something from the Cermaix line that doesn’t suck, I do highly recommend the No. 5. It has a nice G-spot seeking head and it’s hollow, which allows you to fill it with warm or cold water for some really unique temperature play.

If Dr. Seuss made dildos this is exactly what they would look like. I love the quirkiness of the Ceramix line by Pipedream. The shapes and colors are whimsical but that’s not all that’s special about these sex toys. As the name implies, Ceramix is made of, you guessed it, ceramic. Yes, pottery for your pu… nah, not gonna say it. They aren’t the first to make ceramic sex toys but it isn’t something you see everyday. And it’s not just the material that makes them unusual. Pipedream has made the dildos and butt plugs in this line uniquely suited for temperature play. These toys are hollow inside and have silicone plugs in the base. This allows you to fill them with hot or cold water and just as your ceramic cup keeps your coffee warm, these toys will retain the temperature of the water for quite a long time.

no51When SheVibe offered to let me review something from the Ceramix line I had a hard time choosing between the No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6. They all appeal to me in one way or another but something about the No. 5 stood out. I’m sure I’ll end up with the others eventually. There are also vibrators in the Ceramix line and I’m very curious about how the material will carry the vibration.

I think I had the No. 5 in my possession all of about 20 minutes before I gave in to temptation and took it for a spin. I filled it with hot water from the tap and let me tell you, the warmth felt amazing! It was nice not getting that initial shock from a cold dildo and I loved how it held onto that heat for my entire session. I was expecting a lot of sloshing sounds from the water inside as I thrust but there really wasn’t much. I was also pleased that the water didn’t leak during use.

The No. 5 is 1.75″  in diameter and since this is a rigid material with absolutely no give, you’re going to feel every bit of that girth. I’m not sure why I wasn’t expecting it but I was initially surprised by how large it felt. Nothing about it was uncomfortable. It just took a little finesse to get it in and get going but once I was warmed up, it was a really nice fit. That up-curved swollen head of the No. 5 found my G spot with ease and the ribs down the shaft added a bit of subtle texture that I mainly felt at my vaginal opening as I thrust. When paired up with one of my favorite clit vibes it delivers intense G spot involved orgasms. This dildo has all the length I need and then some with 7 insertable inches (7.75″ end to end). The base is 2.5″ across and makes the No. 5 safe for anal use and it’s harness compatible.

Ceramic is a nonporous, body safe and phthalates free material. You can wash this dildo in antibacterial soap and water or to sanitize, bathe it in a 10% bleach solution. Allow it to completely dry inside before you replace the silicone plug. Don’t boil this dildo or pour boiling hot water into it. The temperature you get from the tap is probably the hottest you want to use. You shouldn’t freeze this dildo either but you could chill it in the fridge, if cold is your thing. The finish on this dildo is sleek and smooth so, just a little lube goes a long way. And another great thing about ceramic is that you can use any lube you prefer.no5

The No. 5 doesn’t come with a storage pouch but the packaging is sturdy and there is a large chunk of foam that holds the dildo safely inside the box. I’m not certain about the durability of ceramic. I feel like this dildo is lot more delicate than one made of solid glass. I’m not saying that it will break during use but just handle with care when cleaning and storing. Make sure you inspect it for any cracks or chips before use.

Looking like something you might find in the Red Queen’s toy box, the No. 5 is as fun as it is functional. It sits atop my dresser along with the other sex toys I’ve deemed too pretty or unusual to hide away. The Ceramix toys are something that I’ll definitely end up with more of. Each one has its own unique personality. If you’re into temperature play, you really need one of these dildos. And even if you don’t care about warming it up or cooling it down, the No. 5 is still a really great G spotting dildo. If you’d like to get one of these pieces of pleasure pottery, SheVibe carries the whole Ceramix line and you’ll help support my blog if you click through one of my affiliate links to make your purchase.
