I’m trying to find y’all some more affordable sex toys. So, I requested the CalEx Silhouette S12 because it looked interesting and had some nice features. Not that $42 is chump change but in the world of rechargeable silicone vibrators, it’s relatively inexpensive. Can you get cheaper sex toys? Absolutely. But as you go down in cost, you encounter more of the materials that I don’t recommend. So at first glance, the Silhouette S12 looked like a contender.

How did the Silhouette S12 measure up? Well, in a literal sense, it’s kind of petite. Size Royalty will look at this vibe and yawn. But then, the smaller size will be appreciated by some. The bulbous head, which is the fattest part, is about 1.5” in diameter. I actually measured 1.47”. The insertable length is close to 5”, depending on how you measure it, but the product description says 4.25”. Most folks’ G-spot is situated rather shallowly in the vagina so the length is probably sufficient for most.

What do I like? The silicone is so silky and has almost zero drag (more of this please). It’s rechargeable through a magnetic connection and at the contacts, the charging cord is the same color as the toy so, I didn’t lose it in a rat’s nest of charging cords. Also, I had this thing sitting dormant for almost a year and still, when I picked it up and pressed the button, it turned on. I was stunned by that. And it’s waterproof… can’t forget to mention that. It’s important.

Silhouette S12 charger

I wouldn’t say that there’s anything I absolutely hate about this vibrator. To me, it’s kind of mediocre overall. A sex toy newb would probably feel like they didn’t waste their money but an aficionado will likely not be impressed. And that’s largely because of the vibration – both its tone and strength. It’s a little on the buzzier side, with the first setting (lowest steady vibration) feeling the least buzzy. Most folks I talk to want rumblier vibration than this but not everyone – some prefer buzzy. And in terms of power, it ain’t no Swan Wand, that’s for sure. Not everyone needs that kind of power though.

So, those are just my initial observations. What did my vagina think? Let’s just say, I didn’t have a good jerk session, which is not entirely the S12’s fault. I thought I’d go for some dual stimulation with my beloved L2 (if you follow my blog you’re probably tired of me talking about that vibe).

I started out trying to get the feel for using the S12. Once inside my vag, my suspicion was confirmed that I wouldn’t be able to stimulate my G-spot the way I like to. I prefer rigid toys that I can really jam up in there and apply a lot of pressure. The rigid curved ones like the Comet II are great for this and the rocking motion that I sometimes employ.

You can’t really do that with the Silhouette S12. The bulbous head is rigid but the shaft is flexible so it’s just not compatible with my way of jerking off. I think you need to use more of a subtle in and out movement with this vibe. By doing that, I was able to get some G-spot stimulation, just not as intense as I like. If you like more subtle G-spot stimulation and the Pure Wand terrifies you then the S12 should be a good fit.

So, things are moving along and starting to feel like I could have an orgasm and… the L2’s battery dies (sad trombone), leaving me quite frustrated. Doing the only thing I could at the moment, I pulled the S12 from my vag and started using it on my clit. It wasn’t easy but I was able to squeak out an orgasm. It just doesn’t nuzzle my clit the way I like my clit vibrators to do and as I mentioned before, the tone of the vibration isn’t right for me.

Silhouette S12 button

I think as reviewer, I have a certain amount of privilege. We do get to try the best of the best in sex toys but they’re usually at a much higher price than the Silhouette S12. I don’t know how much this privilege is affecting my overall evaluation of this vibe.

I’m going to say that this toy might be good for a beginner and I hate using that phrase. However, I’m not recommending it to a newb because I think it sucks (which some people will do) but because I think they’d be more satisfied with it. They’re not as jaded as I am. If you’ve used sex toys a long time and you’ve refined your taste, you probably won’t be too impressed with the Silhouette S12.

In a nutshell… it ain’t bad. I can’t give it a glowing review but I do like it for the features you get at the price.

If you want the CalEx Silhouette S12, you can get it from PeepShow Toys and get a 10% discount with code DIZZY. If this vibe doesn’t appeal to you, check out my picks page for some of my favorite toys. And don’t forget the water-based lube to use with this or any other silicone sex toy.

Jimmyjane Intro Vibes

Jimmyjane has always been a bit of pretentious brand. I know I’ve said this before but it bears repeating. At one time, they were advertising a ride on a private jet for $35,000. You’d have to spend over $100 to get any of the vibes in their Form line. I really liked the Form 4 but the Form 6 was ridiculously bad and totally not worth the exorbitant price.

Somewhat recently, the same company that owns Pipedream (a company that I don’t support) bought Jimmyjane. So, that might be what led to the creation of their new Intro line of vibes. I do like the idea that they’re trying to offer more affordable toys. These vibes are all made of body-safe silicone – I wouldn’t be reviewing them if they weren’t – they’re waterproof and batteries are included, which are probably the best attributes of any of them.

A couple of their Intro vibes come in the same shapes as their Form vibes (the 2 and 6) but they use batteries instead of being rechargeable. I was disappointed to find that they all use 2 AAA batteries with the exception of the Intro 1, which uses three watch batteries – uhm, no. Early in my reviewing career I would have been more forgiving of a vibe powered by watch batteries but now? Not so much. Actually, I’m kind of surprised that Jimmyjane would put their “prestigious” name on a vibe that uses watch batteries.

Given the fact that they’re powered by AAA batteries and watch batteries, they’re not nearly as powerful as Jimmyjane’s rechargeable Form vibes. I think maybe they could have gotten more power using 2 AA batteries instead. Would it have been that difficult to design them that way?

Jimmyjane Intro 1

Browsing Jimmyjane’s offerings, I realized that if you wanted a small, watch battery-powered vibe, you could get their Iconic Bullet. It probably feels a lot like the Intro 1, which is weak and buzzy, but I don’t think it has patterns. If you simply must have patterns, the Intro 1 is 12 bucks more but since patterns don’t do much of anything for me, I don’t think it’s worth it. Suffice to say, I’m not impressed with the Intro 1. Not even a little. But at least it’s made of body-safe silicone and it’s waterproof.

Honestly, this vibe didn’t blow me away either but if you want something similar that costs less, I can recommend the BMS Factory Rain Vibe. It’s small, waterproof, uses one AAA (instead of 3 friggin watch batteries) and has more power than the Intro 1. Then again, I think a gentle breeze across my clit would be more stimulating than the Intro 1.

Jimmyjane Intro 2

Next up we have the Intro 2, which looks a lot like the Form 2 or, what many like to call… the tooth vibe. I’ve tried one of these pronged vibes before and that one did nothing for me. My clit just doesn’t work that way. I almost always use vibes on the right side of my clit (it’s a righty) or on top. The left side doesn’t get a lot of love but it doesn’t really want any so, the Intro 2 isn’t designed for me in mind. But different clits do like different things and as I understand it, some people actually like the Form 2 so, maybe those people would also like the Intro 2. It might be hard to be objective since the Intro 2 isn’t my kind of vibe but I feel like it’s rather weak and buzzy. It’s like sandwiching my clit between two frenzied bees on meth.

Jimmyjane Intro 4

The Intro 4 looks nothing like the Form 4 (which I love for clit stim) and the shape of it totally did not excite me in any way. And you might be noticing a pattern here… it was pretty much weak and buzzy. I really don’t have anything else to say about this one. It’s totally forgettable and I don’t even think Jimmyjane needed to add it to the collection.

Jimmyjane Intro 6

The one vibe in the Intro line that I thought might have half a chance of impressing me was the Intro 6. Yes, I hated the Form 6 but I thought its shape was OK for G-spotting so, I figured the Intro 6 at least had that going for it.

So, was the Intro 6 the saving grace of the Intro line? Well, I did like it the best but that’s not saying much. As expected, the shape is pretty good for G-spotting but it just doesn’t have enough power for me. My G-spot needs more power than my clit does so, the Intro 6 just doesn’t make the cut. On my clit if feels… just OK. It’s kind of boring and as with all these Intro vibes, it’s weak and buzzy. It’ll work in a pinch but I have other vibes I would much rather use for clit stim. It’s like, I can orgasm with it on my clit but I don’t enjoy it all that much.

A good alternative to the Intro 6 is a vibe that I really do like and it’s only $9 more. The Lovelife Cuddle is more powerful and rechargeable. The only complaint I have about it is that it’s splash-proof and not waterproof. But I don’t use my toys in the bath so, that’s fine with me.

Overall, I’m just totally underwhelmed with the Jimmyjane Intro vibes. I know I can’t expect the same level of quality and powerful vibration as a $100+ vibrator but still… I really can’t get excited about any of these vibes. And that ain’t just the depression talking.

This isn’t an attempt to sugarcoat but I have to say it – if you don’t need deep, powerful vibration then these vibes might work for you. I still recommend you stay far away from the Intro 1. It’s just awful. Get that Rain Vibe instead if you want a small, battery-powered vibe like that. I think for the price points of the Intro vibes there are similar battery-powered vibes that feel about the same and cost less. In other words, I just don’t think these vibrators are anything special.

The Jimmyjane Intro vibes were provided by a retailer I am no longer affiliated with, in exchange for an unbiased review.

Bee

I believe this is a Carpenter Bee. There were many. They didn’t seem to mind the vibrator photo shoot.

Is the We-Vibe Rave really a Tango for your G-spot? Well, I’d say it’s more like a Touch for the G-spot, which means it still kicks ass. This is We-Vibe’s first venture into solo use insertable vibrators and I am more than impressed. The Rave is everything you’d expect from We-Vibe – quality built, strong rumbly vibration, silky soft silicone.

Yet, it lacks one thing and I’m perplexed as to why they cut this corner. The Rave is splash-proof, not waterproof. Which means, you can get it wet enough to clean it but don’t submerge it. Cost savings is the only reason I can think of that they did it this way. Even still, the Rave isn’t exactly inexpensive. I don’t know how much waterproofing would drive up the price but I really wish they hadn’t skimped on this. However, that’s the only real complaint I have about the Rave. I love everything else about it.

we-vibe rave

The first time I tried it was on my clit and it felt incredible. I forgot all about the fact that I could also stick it in my vag. Once I got my fill of clitoral orgasms, I did try it internally and it rattled my G-spot in the best way. The vibration is strong and rumbly. If you’re familiar with the Touch and Tango, the vibrations feel a lot like those. It has more than enough power to stand up to some dual stimulation with another vibe on my clit, which is heavenly I might add. May I just suggest the Touch on your clit and the Rave in your vag? That combo leaves me quivering.

The Rave also has a feature that sets it apart from any other vibrator I’ve seen. Its shape is asymmetrical. Why would they do this? I really wasn’t sure at first. Then I started playing around with it in my vag and stumbled upon a brand new sensation. By twisting the handle side to side, the Rave stimulated my G-spot in a way that my other G-spotting toys do not. That’s where the asymmetry comes in. With a small movement of your wrist, you can produce a rather unique kind of sensation. My G-spot definitely took notice. With the vibration going combined with the twisting motion and a vibe on my clit, I easily had some pretty epic blended orgasms. I wholeheartedly approve and so does my G-spot. We-Vibe took a chance and did something out of the box and it worked.

We-Vibe Rave

we-vibe rave

The company that owns We-Vibe recently purchased Laid – a company known for its stone dildos and they have one that is asymmetrical (the D.2), a bit like the Rave. So, I’m wondering if that’s where the inspiration came from. Whatever it was that inspired the idea, it was a good one.

The Rave has about 4.75” of insertable length until you reach the charging port. Unlike other We-Vibe products that are charged through a magnetic connection, the Rave has a port that you plug into. Though not perfectly round, the thickest part at the head measures about 4.5” around.

This vibe has 9 patterns and steady vibration. Intensity is incrementally adjustable for all modes. Press and hold the (+) or (-) buttons to adjust intensity. The middle button turns it on/off and cycles through the patterns.

Rave buttons

The manual suggests that you use We-Vibe’s cleaner and lube but that’s not totally necessary. You can simply use soap and water to clean it (or a commercial cleaner) and any water-based lube will work with this vibe.

The Rave is also Bluetooth enabled and it can be controlled via smart phone with the We-Connect app. I didn’t test this feature for a number of reasons, not least of which was my frustration with the OhMiBod Nex 2. That’s not to say that the Rave’s Bluetooth capability would be as quirky. It’s just difficult for me to test these features since I don’t have a smart phone.

We-Vibe is one of my favorite companies for many reasons. They make quality products – two of my most beloved clit vibes and now one of my favorite G-spot vibes. I can’t say I love everything they make since, I wasn’t a huge fan of the Pleasure Mates Collection but that’s OK. Not every toy is made for every body. But in my opinion, they created a masterpiece with the Rave. At least as far as my G-spot and clit are concerned. And let’s face it, that’s all that really matters. I do wish it was waterproof but that’s not a huge deal for me, since I hardly ever use toys in the bath. If you feel the same way about that then I can definitely say that the We-Vibe Rave is an awesome G-spotter, with a special twist and it’s totally worth it.

Prism V

This! This is what I wanted them to make! It’s as though I wished it into being. In fact, L’amourose told me that the feedback in my Rosa Rouge review helped to inspire the Prism V and VII. In that review I said that I loved the Rosa but would rather have it on a handle instead of that base. And that’s exactly what they did! Did I really help design a vibrator1? If they kept everything else the same as the Rosa but gave it a handle, I was sure they’d knock it outta the park. So, did they meet my expectations and make my dreams come true?

Prism V Rosa

I requested the Prism V instead of the Prism VII because the VII is a dual stimulator and those can be very hit or miss as to whether or not they’ll work for you. And just from the look of it, I’m pretty certain it wouldn’t fit my vulva. I wanted to make sure I gave the vibe every chance to win my affection. So, I wasn’t fooling around with a dual stimulator… I wanted the Prism V! Besides, I prefer using two separate vibes for dual stimulation anyway. That was one issue with the Rosa and its broad base. It made it a little difficult to fit a clit vibe in there, since the base didn’t work as a clit stimulator for me like L’amourose intended. I wanted all the rumbly goodness and perfectly sculpted G-spotting head/shaft of the Rosa but with clear and open access to my clit. I also wanted a handle that would allow me to leverage more pressure against my G-spot. Did L’amourose give me everything I wanted?

Prism V 2

The answer is a resounding and motherfucking, yes! Everything, and I mean everything about the Prism V is perfect for me. The vibration strength is more than enough and it’s very rumbly at the lower intensities, getting ever so slightly buzzy at the highest intensity but it’s nothing to complain about. I think I like the Prism V as much on my clit as I do against my G-spot. It feels fantastic both ways. Not only is the vibration completely satisfying but the shape of the head/shaft pulls at my G-spot in the most perfect way possible.

Now here comes the question… is the Prism V as powerful as the Rosa? With only the shaft motor running on the Rosa, they feel very similar. But keep in mind that the Rosa has two motors and with them both running at the same time, the Rosa can generate more power than the Prism V. Still, I’d choose the Prism V over the Rosa any day just because the design works so much better for me.

Prism V buttons

That handle is shaped exactly the way it needs to be. It’s great for leveraging pressure against the G-spot. Best of all, it leaves my clit wide open with enough room to add another vibe. This gives me amazing dual stimulation like the Rosa never could.

I also have to comment on the silicone. It is simply luscious – so silky smooth and powdery soft with damn near zero drag. And that azure blue makes the Prism V one of the prettier vibes I own. Also, it doesn’t come in pink or purple. How great is that?

Prism V contacts

It’s true, I’m smitten with the Prism V and struggle to find fault with it. I like it just the way it is but I do wonder how a girthier version of the same silhouette would feel. That’s the only thing it really lacks. If you want a full feeling then the Prism V isn’t going to give you that. And some folks have an easier time stimulating their G-spot with toys that have a larger head. But the Prism V is damn near exactly what I asked for – the Rosa with a handle2. And it turned out to be one hell of an awesome vibe.

On top of how perfect it is, the price isn’t ridiculously high (Hello, LELO?). At just around $100, the Prism V is much less expensive than the Rosa and Rosa Rouge. Sure, we’d all like things to cost less but for an extraordinarily well designed luxury vibe, the price point ain’t bad.

Prism V colors

If I haven’t made it perfectly clear, the L’amourose Prism V is like my own personal little orgasm machine and I love everything about it. Okay, maybe the buttons could be a little more prominent and the packaging isn’t quite as nice as what you get with the Rosa but I’m nitpicking3. It truly is like the Prism V was made just for me and I owe L’amourose all the gratitude for creating it.

OhMiBod Nex 2

The OhMiBod Cuddle has gone all high-tech, changed colors and is now being called the Nex 2.  It is basically, the same exact thing as the Cuddle which, as far as I’m concerned, is the best of OhMiBod’s Lovelife line. What kind of bells and whistles did they add to justify that inflated price tag? You can control the Nex 2 remotely via Bluetooth from a smartphone or long distance over Wi-Fi. That’s basically it. It’s a remote control Cuddle that can connect long distance. Your partner can be anywhere in the world and with an app on their phone and yours, they can control the Nex 2. It is actually a rather cool concept and I could see it being a hit with folks in long distance relationships or maybe if your partner travels a lot.

Aside from the remote control feature, this review could be exactly the same as my Cuddle review. It has the same functions, the vibration feels exactly the same and just like the much less expensive Cuddle, the Nex 2 is not waterproof. I got a bone to pick with OhMiBod on that one. I understand that for the Lovelife line, they wanted to try to keep the prices down a bit and in that they succeeded. But for how much the Nex 2 will set you back, it’s really inexcusable that they didn’t make it water-proof. So, if you don’t mind spending $130 on a vibe that’s not waterproof then read on but I wouldn’t blame you if you didn’t.

I reviewed 3 of the Lovelife vibrators and definitely thought the Cuddle was the best. So, as far as the vibration goes… I do like the Nex 2. It’s moderately powerful and not buzzy but also not the most rumbly vibe out there – it’s nice, ya know? It doesn’t suck.

The shape of it hits my G-spot quite well, though I wouldn’t might if it had a bit more girth. It’s certainly not going to impress girth fanatics. But for folks who need something smaller, it is perfect.

Nex 2 and Cuddle

So, what do you get for $61 more than the cost of the Cuddle? A damn flaky ass app, that’s what. We first tested the Nex 2 with dizzyguy’s Samsung smartphone and it paired via Bluetooth easily and he was able to control the Nex 2 from his phone with the app. But some of the functions of the app just don’t seem to work all that well. It’s like the vibe doesn’t precisely respond to the input you’re giving the app. Still, I guess it was kind of cool being able to control a vibrator from a smartphone.

Trying to set up the Wi-Fi capability is where things really fell apart. In order to control the Nex 2 over Wi-Fi, you need two Android or iOS devices. Imodes don’t have a smartphone, only dizzyguy does. But he also has an Samsung tablet that, according to OhMiBod’s site, ought to work. But for some reason, getting the Nex 2 to pair with the tablet via Bluetooth was like pulling teeth. I honestly don’t know what magical combination of things I tried that eventually made it work but it finally connected.

So, I’m controlling the Nex 2 with the app on the tablet through a Bluetooth connection, we haven’t gotten to the Wi-Fi thing yet, and messages kept popping up on the app about losing communication with the device. But it would only appear for a brief moment and the app would go on operating like normal.

You have to set up an account with OhMiBod to control the Nex 2 over Wi-Fi, so I tried to do that through the app on the tablet and had a hell of a time. It kept disconnecting and then buttons wouldn’t do anything when I tapped them. I had just about had enough when on like the 5th try, everything went through and the account was created.

At this point, I wasn’t liking this thing very much at all but I begrudgingly set out to test the Wi-Fi capability and it was just as much a pain in the ass as I thought it would be. After several attempts of trying to get dizzyguy’s phone to make the Wi-Fi connection to the tablet that was paired to the Nex 2, it finally did but not without a lot of screwing around.

So, I spent some time playing around with it. Hmmm, cool… I guess. I’m controlling a vibrator across the internet with a smartphone. What a time to be alive. I’d probably be more excited about it if the app and whole connecting process wasn’t so quirky. At one point during the Wi-Fi connection, the connection was lost and at another point, the app just locked up and stopped working on dizzyguy’s phone.

Maybe I missed it somewhere but what I really would like to have seen was a way to just increase and decrease the intensity of steady vibration through the app. Every one of the app’s functions are pattern-like. For example, in one mode you can tap your fingers on the screen and make the Nex 2 vibrate. But even then, it doesn’t really feel like it’s vibrating to the exact pattern that was tapped.

So, what if you’re like me and you just enjoy steady vibration? I didn’t see any reliable way of a partner remotely controlling the vibe in that way. Seems like an oversight when you consider all the other fancy modes built into the app.

If the app were more stable, I’d say it might be something fun for a LDR couples to play around with but I have no use for it. I don’t think I’ll be looking for another Bluetooth/Wi-Fi equipped vibrator to review any time soon.

Verdict? Save your cash and get the Cuddle. It is actually a nice vibe at a nice price even though, like the Nex 2, it isn’t waterproof. But there’s just no excuse for the Nex 2 not being waterproof, given the price. I really wasn’t all that impressed with the Nex 2’s hi-tech capabilities. I just want a vibe to get me off and I don’t want to spend a lot of time dicking around with it to make it work.

And lest you think that I am just technologically inept and that’s why I had a horrible experience with the Nex 2, this person had a shitty time too.

Fun Factory Patchy Paul G5

It’s a vibrator that looks like a chubby happy caterpillar, especially in the green. Dizzyguy said it was creepy. I told him to bite his tongue. True to their name, everything Fun Factory makes is well… fun. Their designs and colors tend to be unique and whimsical. I think even their vibrators feel different from most other vibes. It’s hard to explain but Fun Factory vibes have a signature vibration. You could blindfold me and put one of their vibrators in my hand and I could tell you that it’s Fun Factory.

I’ve reviewed two other Fun Factory toys and my opinions on them fall on each end of the spectrum. I didn’t much care for the Delight. It just didn’t work for me in any way. However, I was head over heels for the Stronic Eins. The Patchy Paul G5 falls somewhere in the middle of those two extremes.

On paper, I love everything about the Patchy Paul G5 but I can’t say I love it as much as the Stronic Eins (I don’t even know if it’s fair to compare a vibrator to a pulsator though). That said, I could easily see someone else being totally smitten with it. It has everything you expect from a luxury vibe:

  • Strong rumbly motor – check
  • Body safe silicone and plastic – check
  • Rechargeable – check
  • Waterproof – check
  • Travel lock – check

So, why don’t I like it more than I do? I’m honestly not sure. I do actually like it but I’m not over the moon for it. It really is a fabulous vibrator though. I guess you’d have to ask my vagina why we’re not a perfect match and unfortunately, I don’t speak its language. I can tell you that I might like it more if it was rigid. It has a fair amount of flex which makes it difficult to put a lot of pressure on my G-spot. But then, my G-spot is kind of freaky about how much pressure it likes. In any case, the flexibility might be a bonus for someone who doesn’t need the pressure that I do.

Then, there’s the silicone. I don’t know what’s up with Fun Factory silicone but it feels different from everything else. It’s matte but produces a shit load of drag. The other two Fun Factory toys I have feel the same way to me. Of course, that’s why lube was invented. But I tend to need a lot of it if I want to thrust with the Patchy Paul G5.

Patchy Paul buttons

Everything else about this vibe is great. I love the deep rumbly vibration and the controls are top-notch. I couldn’t care less about patterns but the Patchy Paul G5 has 6 of them and they are different from the same old tired patterns you find in other vibes. The steady vibration has 6 levels of intensity – way better than the obligatory 3 on cheaper vibes. Though I can’t compare, I have heard that the G5 is significantly more powerful than the preceding G4.

The finger hole in the handle is ergonomic genius. It allows me to hold it in a much more comfortable position than with other vibes. This vibe gives you about 7.25” to insert and the head/nose is 1.27” in diameter. From there the shaft grows to about 1.67” near the handle.

Patchy Paul G5 colors

There are three choices of color (Neon Orange, Fresh Green, Candy Rose) but if you ask me, green is where it’s at. There are not nearly enough sex toys in green. It doesn’t come with a storage pouch which is a beef I have with Fun Factory. I think for what these toys cost, they could throw in a pouch.

Care and feeding of this vibe is the same as for all silicone vibrators and for more on that go here. Copious amounts of water-based lube are recommend.

On the highest setting, this is not the quietest vibrator I have. You might have to keep the door closed and play some music or something. It’s not even close to Hitachi Magic Wand loud. It’s just not what I’d call discreet.

It is USB rechargeable and Fun Factory calls it Click ‘N’ Charge technology, which basically means that there are metal contacts where the magnetic charging cord connects. The stand-by charge seems to be lasting a very long time for me. I haven’t run the battery down to determine run time and Fun Factory doesn’t really specify.

With any Fun Factory toy, you’re getting exceptional German engineering and manufacturing. Fun Factory is quite proud of the quality they can offer. Their products are designed, produced, and packaged under one roof, giving them one of the smallest carbon footprints in manufacturing.

Need more reasons to love Fun Factory?

  • Manufactured in Germany in our clean, safe factory – not in a sweatshop
  • Made from non-toxic materials – safe for our workers & safe for your body
  • Factory employees receive fair wages and benefits
  • State of the art facilities are fully accessible
  • The only unionized factory in the adult industryPatchy Paul

If a strong and rumbly, flexible vibrator born of impeccable engineering and manufacturing sounds good then the Patchy Paul G5 would make you very happy. I can find no real faults with it. Just a couple of nit-picky personal preferences that aren’t met with this vibe but they’re pretty insignificant. Maybe I’m being too picky or, perhaps it’s my fickle vagina being fickle. Seriously though, if you don’t need strong pressure on your G-spot, I think you’ll love the Patchy Paul G5.

Pleasure Works Silky G

I wasn’t sure if I was going to like the Pleasure Works Silky G vibe. I mean, it has a pokey, pointy tip and runs on AAA batteries, which means it wasn’t going to be super powerful and it would probably be buzzy to boot. But I was talking to the folks over at (a retailer I am no longer affiliated with) and mentioned that I’d like to try some less expensive toys and hopefully, find some that don’t suck, which is tough to do, by the way. They said that they get a lot of good feedback on the Silky G so I said, “why not?” I wasn’t all that optimistic but then… I tried it.

I settled in with the Silky G, my waterproof sex blanket, a tube of my newest fave water-based lube and my beloved clit vibe, the Lust L2. First, I used the Silky G on my clit and it wasn’t bad but didn’t blow me away either. I probably could have gotten off with it if I’d really tried but I wanted to save the orgasm for when I paired it up with the L2. It had been a long time since I had a blended orgasm. Not that I’ve had trouble having them, I’ve just been lazy and only using clit vibes lately.

I lubed it up and pushed it into my vagina, honestly expecting the pointy tip to be uncomfortable but it wasn’t at all, not in the least. I do know that some folks hate pokey G-spot toys though and that’s something to consider. It hit my G-spot like it had laser guided precision. I started moving it around and thought, “oh, that’s nice I think I’ll turn on the vibration” and once I did, I instantly felt that sensation like I needed to urinate, which is common for a lot of folks when G-spotting. I had a strong hunch that the Silky G just might give me a lovely blended orgasm.

I couldn’t lube up my L2 fast enough and when I got everything in place and started moving each vibe around in the ways that usually lead to orgasm, the dual stim felt incredible. My PC muscles contracted hard and it felt like I was building up to a strong orgasm. Then, instead of thrusting with the Silky G, I started twisting it from side to side a little and it was like someone opened the flood gates. My orgasm exploded and I squirted all over my sex blanket. Good thing I decided to use it.

It’s true, the Silky G is pointy and will be irritating to some people and yes, it’s kind of buzzy at the highest speed and no, it’s probably not going to make power or girth1 fanatics very happy but it sure shocked the shit out of me. And at less than $20, I really didn’t expect that.

Silky G dial

The Silky G is about as simple as a vibrator gets – no bells and whistles. Just an old-school-like dial on the base that adjusts the speed from low to high. I actually kind of like how uncomplicated it is. Plus, you’re not stuck on 3 set speeds, you can adjust the speed incrementally to fine tune it to exactly where you like it. Another nice thing? It comes in colors other than pink and purple.

This vibe is made of hard plastic and has a nice silky finish – hence the name, I guess. It’s waterproof and fairly easy to clean but it does have an annoying seam on the shaft. It doesn’t bother me when I’m using it but I’m annoyed that it’s there because it can collect lube and vag gunk2. Since the Silky G is plastic, your lube choices are not limited at all. Use any kind you like. Silicone-based, water-based and hybrid lubes are all compatible with this vibe.

Silky G vibe

For under 20 bucks, I really can’t complain too much about the Pleasure Works Silky G. Sure, it’s all those things I mentioned – pointy, buzzy and not terribly powerful but you know what? It still gives me wonderful blended orgasms, despite all that. Obviously, this is not a MONA 2 caliber vibe but again… it’s less than 20 bucks!

I might not recommend the Silky G to someone who hasn’t perfected the art of finding their G-spot, simply because I believe that a toy with a larger, broader head makes it easier but once you’ve got the hang of stimulating your G-spot, I think you’ll zero right in on it with the Silky G. So, if you want something basic and cheap that doesn’t totally suck, give the Silky G a try.

L_amourose Rosa Rouge

Incredible, extraordinary, fantastic and wonderful – the Rosa Rouge is all of those things and more. It rocks my world, blows my mind, curls my toes and all that other stuff. To call the Rosa Rouge powerful is an understatement. This thing gave my G-spot some serious feels like it’s never had before and I don’t think it will ever be the same. In fact, it may have ruined all other vibes for me 1. The Rosa Rouge is no mere sex toy, this is a pleasure power tool.

First thing’s first, the Rosa Rouge is meant to be a dual stimulator with a motor in the shaft and one in the base that is supposed to stimulate the clit. It doesn’t work for me that way but neither do most dual stimulator vibrators. That’s OK though, I love it anyway but I think it could be made even better.

Everything about the Rosa Rouge2 is designed perfectly, except for how I have to use it. Since I can’t use it as a dual stimulator, that base both gets in my way and is difficult to hold onto at the same time. This might not be a problem for you if you can use it as intended but I’d really like to see L’amourose make a vibrator that is exactly like the Rosa Rouge but with a handle instead of that broad, short base. I’d even want them to keep the dual motors because with both motors running, the Rosa Rouge resonates beautifully. So my perfect vibe would be the Rosa Rouge turned into a typical G-spot vibe instead of a dual stimulator.

Even though I have trouble using it as intended, I still think it’s an absolutely incredible vibe. The power this thing has is phenomenal. With it turned up on high, I feel like I’m going to insta-squirt. I don’t but I feel that intense gotta-pee sensation that comes from powerful G-spot stimulation. And I mean, it is intense. I even get some G-spot stim without the vibration turned on at all due to the design of the shaft. That edge that’s sculpted into it scrapes at my G-spot – in a good way.

I use the Rosa Rouge like I use most G-spot vibes… pushing down on the handle, jamming the head up into my G-spot, while using a clit vibe at the same time. There is a slight amount of flex when I do this. That base makes it a little difficult to get another vibe (like the We-Vibe Touch) to fit but I can manage. The awkward configuration is so worth it though because the orgasms I get from it are nothing short of spectacular. I’m talking about arching my back so hard, I pull a muscle. Yep, that happened.

OK, back to this base (I know I’m being picky). Since it’s so short, it’s not hard to get lube all over it and that makes holding onto it even harder than it already is plus, it makes finding and pressing the buttons almost impossible. The buttons are nearly indiscernible to my fingers. I can’t tell when I’m on one or which one it is. I know L’amourose wanted to make the Rosa Rouge all sexy and streamlined but I wouldn’t mind if they’d made the buttons more prominent. Maybe when they make that version of the Rosa Rouge with a handle that I want them to make, they’ll give me better buttons… hint.

All of this awesomeness, a couple small complaints and I haven’t even gotten through all of the features. Besides two strong rumbly motors, the Rosa Rouge is also heated, and that’s what separates it from the Rosa. The heating is nice. Probably, the best heated vibe I’ve tried so far. I don’t think it takes too long to warm up and it is noticeable. I do like the way it feels on my clit and in my vagina. But ya know what? I could live without it. I’ve mentioned before how I’m just not a bells and whistles kind of girl and that’s most likely why I think I’d enjoy the Rosa just as much as the Rosa Rouge. But maybe heated vibrators are your thing. In that case, the Rosa Rouge is the vibe for you.

The manual explains how the buttons work very well so, I’m not going to go into all that but I’ll touch on the functions. This vibe has 9 functions: both motors running, one or the other running, or each vibrating in various patterns of pulses and escalation. Here again, these are features I don’t really need. Give me steady, variable vibration and I’m a happy girl. But I guess it is nice that you can run one motor with the other one off. Running together though, they create that wonderful resonating effect that I love so much and of course the overall vibration feels much more powerful.

The silicone is a soft silky dream and doesn’t collect a ton of lint. The Rosa Rouge is waterproof which makes it easy to clean and extends your playtime into the bath or shower. For more on how to care for and clean silicone vibrators go here. Water-based lube is recommended.

Rosa Rouge base

The Rosa Rouge proudly sits atop a regal charging base and flashes to let you know it is charging. It stops flashing when it reaches a full charge. This vibe is beautifully packaged and comes with a storage pouch, as anything at this price point should. There is an 18 month warranty and lifetime guarantee that gives you 50% off a new vibe.

L’amourose, you have one hell of a vibrator here. This vibe is like a finely tuned sports car and makes other vibrators look like sad old hoopties. There is no doubt, the Rosa Rouge is a luxury vibe with a price tag to match. I don’t know that I ever would have spent that much to get one, myself. And I think if the heating function isn’t important to you, going for the Rosa instead is a no-brainer. Even still, the price is more than what some folks can spend on a vibrator. I know that the saying “you get what you pay for” is true 99% of the time and most of my favorite toys are in the luxury category. I’m lucky to get such wonderful toys just for writing about them. I wish these vibes were priced lower so more people could experience them but then, there is a certain level of quality you’re getting here. If your budget can handle dropping over $200 for a sex toy then I can say with confidence, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed in the Rosa Rouge or the Rosa3.

Mona Wave

LELO isn’t a company that I promote anymore. I encourage you to read this before purchasing their products.

If the MONA 2 was just too powerful for you and you’ve always dreamed of slowly being fingered by a robot then the new MONA Wave was made just for you. The hype leading up to the release of this vibe was huge. Excitement amongst reviewers was palpable. Everyone had high hopes that it would be the greatest thing ever. But when you have such high expectations, there’s the chance for monumental disappointments. LELO earnestly tried to improve upon their already epic G-spot vibe by throwing some technology at it. And I’m sure it sounded like a good idea at the time.

I mean, what LELO tried to do here was promising. They attempted to simulate the classic “come hither” motion that is so well known as a G-spot stimulation technique. And the MONA Wave, sort of does that… sort of. It approximates the “come hither” motion but it’s in no hurry to do so. Seriously, the motion is painfully slow and it operates at one fixed speed. That’s just not going to get the job done for most folks with a G-spot. I think the wave motion really was a novel and inspired idea in theory, it just missed the mark in its execution.

There definitely needs to be a range of speed for the wave motion but I also think there needs to be more of a curl (a bit more like this), if they really want to stimulate the G-spot. Maybe, instead of trying to retrofit an existing vibe with new technology, they would have been better off creating an entirely new vibrator with a different shape that would better complement the wave motion.

Mona wave and 2

MONA Wave and the superior MONA 2

Probably worse than the disappointingly slow wave motion is the fact that the MONA Wave’s vibration is weaker than MONA 2. No kidding. Why in the world would LELO do that? I should be able to say that if the wave motion doesn’t impress you then at least you still have the awesomeness that is MONA, but I can’t. So, even though the MONA Wave is the latest and (arguably) greatest from LELO, I simply can’t recommend it over the MONA 2. If you don’t like the wave motion, there are modes where it’s off and then the Mona Wave operates like a weakling imposter of the MONA 2. But if that’s the way you end up using it most of the time then you’re much better off getting the MONA 2, which is more powerful and costs less.

So, the wave motion isn’t that great and it’s not as powerful as its predecessor. Could there possibly be anything else for me to complain about? As a matter of fact, yes. The noise – it’s so fucking loud. Imagine a generic robot movement sound effect from a 1980s sci-fi movie. Yep, that’s what it sounds like. I found it distracting and my vagina didn’t muffle it. It might be a little difficult to be discreet with this one.

Make sure you have your speakers turned on when you play this video.

Now, let’s talk about how I use most G-spot toys. I like to push town pretty hard on the handle to force the head of the toy firmly into my G-spot, that way I get maximum stimulation. When I tried that with the wave motion on, it sounded like the motor was straining. If I continued to use it that way, it wouldn’t surprise me if the motor eventually gave out.Mona Wave buttons

Is there anything I like about the MONA Wave? Well, yeah… the silicone is great – typical from LELO. It’s silky soft with minimum drag and it’s not a lint magnet. LELO also, moved away from their plastic handles and covered this one with the same silky silicone. You’d imagine this would eliminate the seam, that exists on the MONA 2, where the silicone shaft meets the plastic handle, but it doesn’t quite. There is still a seam where the colored silicone shaft meets the white silicone handle. But it’s better than it was.

You care for the MONA Wave like any other silicone vibrator.  For more on that go hereWater-based lube is recommended.

MONA Wave colors

I love that blue and the black option is nice too.

The takeaway here (as if I haven’t already made it clear)? Get the MONA 2 instead of the MONA Wave. I seriously think it’s a better choice. If you are intrigued by the wave motion and just have to have it, I can honestly say it is a pretty nice vibrator and if I’d never felt the MONA 2, I might not be as critical. Just know that the MONA Wave doesn’t quite live up to the infamous reputation of its predecessor. This is not the same vibe with a cult following that is loved far and wide by reviewers everywhere. In fact, most of the MONA Wave reviews I’ve read slant toward the negative with mostly the same complaints but as always, we’re all different and some people do really like it. That said, if I was helping my best friend choose a vibrator, I’d definitely tell her to get the MONA 2.

Svakom Lester Lisa Gaga

Sitting here, I just realized why it’s taken me so long to write reviews for these toys. It has been impossible for my mind to formulate interesting things to say about any of them because quite frankly, I’m bored. These three vibrators from Svakom don’t deserve my praise nor my wrath… only my, meh.

I’ll admit, I was geeked to get the Gaga because who doesn’t want to make videos of their vagina? Well, maybe not everyone but I really wanted to. Then, after you make the first video, it kind of loses its appeal. The Lester and Lisa are just OK. It’s that dreaded, “I don’t love them or hate them” scenario, which makes it hard for me to write about them. They just didn’t do much for me and I think they’re kind of expensive for what they ultimately are.

First off, the Gaga. I was thrilled to get this thing because I wanted to make a vagcam video in the worst way. But like I said, once you’ve done that, you’re pretty much finished with this toy. And it costs a whole hell of a lot of money to get like, one thrill out of it.

Svakom Gaga

As a camera, it’s marginal and don’t expect the best video quality. As a sex toy, it’s boring. The only way I can see someone being interested in using this more than once is if they have a fetish for making vagcam videos. But really, how many times can you look inside your vag and still be fascinated by it? I did some kegels during my video and it was pretty cool to see the internal contractions but I really have no interest in doing it again.

If you do want to get this thing for making vagcam videos, you’ll want to get a clear speculum as well otherwise, all you’re gonna see is a pink blur. These are relatively inexpensive but it kind of sucks that you have to buy something else separately to make the vagcam experience work.

You have to be connected to your computer to use Gaga’s camera, which is awkward but it would probably be necessary anyway because you really have to point it exactly right to get any kind of decent video out of it. It comes with a program that allows you to capture your video and save it to file. When you save it to file, it doesn’t add the file extension, which is strange so, you have to do that yourself.

The vibration is weak and buzzy so, it was of no use to me as a vibrator. If you’re sensitive and you like surface level vibration then you might like it but you can spend a lot less money for a vibe that feels like this. Granted, it won’t have a camera in it but do you really need that?

Also, this might be obvious to some but others may not realize that the Gaga is not safe for anal use. It doesn’t have a flared base to prevent it from getting lost in the rectum.

So, if I quickly got bored with the Gaga, with all its promise of endlessly entertaining vagina vids, then there wasn’t much hope for the Lester and Lisa. They seem well made and I have no complaints about quality. They both have features that set them apart but they just don’t excite me. Both are too weak and buzzy for my tastes and the Lester doesn’t fit me properly, which is just something that often happens with rabbit vibes. The shape of the Lisa kind of reminds me of the LELO Gigi but that’s where the similarities end. It’s a bit small, which was a con for me but might be a pro for others.

The Lester has a heating feature and I guess that’s kind of interesting but not enough to really hold my attention. I found the buttons to be infuriating both by their location and operation. I kept accidentally hitting a button and changing settings all the time. Plus the way they operate is just a little strange compared to most other vibes I’ve tried. You have to double click the buttons to change modes.

Svakom Lester

You can use the heating feature with or without vibration and I’d say it takes about 20 seconds to warm all the way up and it’s a very subtle warmth. I get more warmth out of my ceramic dildos filled with warm water.

The Lester didn’t fit me quite right but the clitoral arm does reach up higher than most other rabbit vibes I’ve tried.1  Since this vibe didn’t fit me very well, maybe I would have enjoyed the Leslie more.  It looks like the same vibe without the clit arm.

You can’t control the dual motors independently but there are modes where one or the other is on. The vibration in the shaft feels fair to middling and it’s the most powerful vibration of these three Svakom vibes. The motor in the clitoral arm is pretty buzzy and my clit didn’t much care for it. Plus, on top of all the other issues, the name “Lester” kind of creeps me out. I really don’t want anything going into my vagina that’s named, “Lester”.

The Lisa does have a somewhat interesting touch sense technology but I don’t really see the advantage of it in practice. To me, it’s more novelty than anything else. Maybe if you’re masturbating with it and someone knocked on the door, you could pull it out of your vag with lightening speed and it would stop vibrating… as long as you don’t touch the shaft of it. Other than that, what’s it really good for? It doesn’t work very well on the clit in the touch sense mode but you can switch modes and use it like a regular vibrator.

Svakom Lisa

This vibe is just too small for me.2 I can’t get good G-spot stimulation out of it because of its demure size and the vibration isn’t strong enough either. I do think the shape is nice. It just needs to have more meat on its bones. But maybe the size is appealing to you and you don’t need strong vibration. In that case, this vibe might work out for you but again, I have a hard time justifying the cost.

The instructions for all of these vibes are sparse and poorly translated with adorable lines like:

As long as her sensitive part touches your body slightly, the pleasant sensation will shake your nerve instantly.

There is at least one thing that I do like about these vibrators and that’s the silicone3 It feels really nice and silky with nearly nonexistent drag. The Gaga, Lester and Lisa are all very nicely packaged and come with storage pouches.

Unfortunately, none of these three Svakom vibes made much of an impression on me. Perhaps they’re just not right for me or maybe, despite all the bells and whistles, they really are just mediocre. But there’s nothing really glaringly wrong with them either. Just some things that annoyed me a little and the vibration wasn’t strong or rumbly enough. Maybe someone who doesn’t need powerful vibration would be happy with them but for the price, I expected a lot more. Can you tell I was bored with these toys? I feel like even this review is boring to read because I was so uninspired that I just couldn’t muster the will to be entertaining. It’s like they sucked the enthusiasm right out of me.
