Je Joue MiMi

I know, I know… I sound like a broken record but I love the Je Joue Uma. When I got the Uma, all I could think about was having two of them so I could use them both for dual stimulation. But since I’d already reviewed the Uma, I figured I should try something new so, the next logical step seemed to be getting the MiMi. I was hoping the MiMi’s vibrations would feel the same as Uma’s and I could use it on my clit while I used the Uma internally. Unfortunately, the MiMi didn’t quite live up to my expectations. It’s a great clit vibe but it’s no substitute for the Uma.

The MiMi’s vibrations do feel a lot like the Uma’s, only they’re not quite as intense and they’re focused differently. Plus, I don’t think the shape is the best for me. I can have orgasms with it but it’s not as easy as with other vibes. I actually had to change my style a little to get the MiMi to work for me. Ordinarily, I prefer to lightly stroke my clit with a vibrator. I’m not normally one to go for a lot of pressure. However, this is exactly what I have to do with the MiMi. At first, I thought that using the thin edge of it to lightly stroke my clit would be the way to go. But the vibration isn’t concentrated as strongly on the edges. The vibration is strongest on the broad flat surface so, if you like that sort of stimulation then the MiMi would be great and it does work well when applying pressure.

So, even though I have to masturbate with it differently than I normally do, it does get the job done and I do think it is a good vibrator for those who like broad stimulation and pressure. It just wasn’t as Uma-like as I’d hoped it would be. The vibration is very deep and rumbly and they don’t dampen a lot under pressure. And this is the perfect combination for a lot of people, it’s just not exactly what I was hoping for with the MiMi. I wouldn’t say I’m totally disappointed with the MiMi, I was just looking for a very specific kind of stimulation. But all is not lost, I was actually able to achieve the dual stimulation I was looking for with the combination of the Uma and the G-Kii. So far, all of the Je Joue products I’ve tried are high quality vibrators with a rumbly kind of vibration that I haven’t felt from other vibrators. It’s that unique rumble that made me fall in love with the brand – and I am quite fond of their uncommonly silky soft silicone as well.

The MiMi fits nicely in the hand. You are going to feel the vibration in your hand but it wasn’t something that bothered me. There is absolutely no squish to the MiMi, it has a silicone skin over hard plastic. Je Joue has recently released the MiMi Soft and the tip on that one is squishy.

The controls and functions are pretty much the same as the Uma. You have three buttons. Press and hold the (+) button to turn it on and repeatedly press it to step through 5 levels of intensity. Repeatedly press the (-) button to step the intensity back down. Press and hold to turn it off. The middle button steps through 6 patterns of pulsating vibration. You can control the intensity of the patterns with the (+) and (-) buttons.

Je Joue MiMi Buttons

Like the other Je Joue vibrators, the MiMi charges through a magnetic connection to the buttons, which are also the charging contacts. It takes 2 hours to fully charge and that is supposed to yield 2 hours of run time. A small red light flashes while it’s charging and stays on when complete.

Je Joue’s silicone is some of my favorite of any brand. It’s so soft and silky.  It attracts a small amount of lint, as evidenced in my photos (as well as the water spots). The entire vibrator is body-safe and phthalates free. It’s waterproof, which makes it easy to clean with soap and water or you could use a toy cleaner. You can sanitize it with a 10% bleach solution and rinse well with water. I always say it’s the safest bet to use water-based lube with silicone toys because some silicone-based lube can damage the finish of some silicone toys. However, it’s not always the case and I have even successfully mixed the two. If you want to experiment with a silicone-based or hybrid lube, make sure to spot test first.

The MiMi is 3.25 inches long and about 2 inches across at the widest point. It comes in four colors – lilac, purple, black and fuchsia. Mine came in a nice box but with no storage pouch which is really inexcusable for a luxury brand. The new ones come with a blind fold, which is just silly. Hey, Je Joue… Storage. Pouch. The MiMi is covered by a one year warranty.

Je Joue MiMi Box

So, the MiMi wasn’t the clit vibe of my dreams. To be fair, I was hoping for it to be something other than what it is – an Uma in a smaller package. That doesn’t mean it deserves a negative rating. Not at all. If I judge it objectively, it really is a great little clit vibe that’s probably best suited for those who like broad stimulation and pressure. The vibrations are nice and rumbly, though could be stronger for my taste. It’s nice compact size makes it great for use during sex too. If those are the kinds of things that you look for in a clit vibe then I think the Je Joue MiMi is a solid choice and I feel totally comfortable recommending it.

Je Joue G-Kii

Dear Je Joue, I don’t know how you do it but it seems like you make vibrators meant just for me. I fell instantly in love with the Uma and it’s one of the few sex toys that made me wish I had another one just like it. Why in the world would I want 2 of the same vibrator? As a backup, maybe? Well, that’s part of it but the Uma’s vibrations are so deep and rumbly and I love how it feels for G-spot stimulation as well as clitoral stimulation.

I could think of nothing more toe curling-ly good than to wield the power of two Umas (Umi?) at the same time. But since I’ve already reviewed it, I thought I should try something new and it seemed like the next logical step was to procure a MiMi. I thought that it might have the same deep rumbly vibrations as the Uma but in a compact clitoral vibe size. While the MiMi is a great vibe (a review of it should be coming soon), it wasn’t quite the clitoral Uma substitute I hoped it would be. And that’s what led me to the Je Joue G-Kii. Would it be similar enough to the Uma to allow me to achieve my masturbatory dream?

The G-Kii is an intriguing vibrator that’s unlike any other that I’ve seen. It has an adjustable G-spotting curve. It really is a pretty ingenious design. Initially, I thought there must be some kind of bendable wire inside that gave it the adjustability. Instead, it has two joints that lock into place at various angles to achieve either an extended subtle curve or a very tight curl. When tightly curled, it’s meant to be used as a dual stimulator, where the tip would be stimulating the G-spot while the handle end curves around to rest on the clitoris. Consistent with some of my other experiences with dual stimulating vibrators, this didn’t work out very well for me but that’s really more a matter of my particular anatomy and how I prefer to masturbate. It’s very possible that this vibrator could work out well as a dual stimulator for others though.

So, if it didn’t work as a dual stimulator then why do I still love it? Because it’s an amazing G-spotting vibrator with vibrations that are very much like the Uma’s… but not quite. The G-Kii has dual motors, one near the tip and one near the handle (for the dual stim application). You might think that since I can’t use it as a dual stimulating vibrator that the dual motors don’t matter but they do. They matter a lot. I’ve noticed that there’s an effect that happens with vibrators having more than one motor. Often, the vibrations harmonize together creating a unique resonating frequency that my body really responds to. And it responds to the G-Kii in a big way. It’s not that the vibrations are super powerful (they aren’t wimpy either) but it’s just something about the resonating vibration that really does it for me.

The first time I tried the G-Kii, I used it internally, while using the Uma on my clit and it was everything I imagined it would be. I used the G-Kii the way I normally do with G-spotting vibes. I pushed the handle down, forcing the tip up into my G-spot. From there I would rock it a little or even just hold it still, applying steady pressure. In addition to creating that resonating vibration that I love so much, the motor near the handle gives me strong vibration closer to my vaginal entrance which is oh, so nice.

With the combination of these two vibrators, I was able to achieve a mind blowing blended orgasm in an uncharacteristically short amount of time. I still deal with some of the anorgasmia caused by the medications I take, even though it’s been partially reversed. So, it’s still very common that I struggle to reach orgasm. Because of this, when I find a toy or, combination of toys, that makes the orgasms come easily, it makes me all kinds of happy. I really can’t find the words to describe just how good the orgasms feel from using these two toys. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea but it seems to be exactly what my body needs.

After my first spectacular orgasm with the Uma/G-Kii duo, I lay there catching my breath on a thoroughly soaked Liberator Throe. I look over at these two amazing toys that just gave me one of the best orgasms ever and I wondered – if it felt this good using the G-Kii internally and the Uma externally, what would it feel like the other way around? So, I tried it and even though I just had a really powerful orgasm, the duo easily gave me another one. As good as that resonating vibration of the G-Kii feels on my G-spot, I think it might feel even better on my clit. So yeah, HUGE success with the Uma/G-Kii combo.

Having thoroughly rambled on about my use of and adoration for the G-Kii, you probably want to know how it works and stuff. Well first of all, let’s talk about that adjustable curve. Some have had a lot of difficulty with the curve adjustment mechanism. It felt pretty intuitive to me but the manual doesn’t say anything about how the mechanism works. At times, it might feel like the button is stuck. I mostly notice this in the 1 and 5 positions. All you have to do is, in the 1 position, apply gentle pressure to the tip, pushing it down toward the handle and you’ll feel the button loosen up. In the 5 position you do the opposite and slightly pull the tip away from the handle. You should also keep the button pressed until you reach the position you want and then release it and let the mechanism gently click into place. In other words, don’t just briefly press the button to unlock the mechanism, then release the button and forcibly push or pull the shaft into place.

Maybe it seemed familiar to me because I vaguely remember some toy I had as a kid that worked the same way but I’m not sure exactly what it was. I even handed it off to dizzyguy, saying nothing, to see if it tripped him up at all and it didn’t. The operation of this mechanism really doesn’t lower my opinion of the vibrator at all.

The G-Kii has three buttons, not counting the one that adjusts the curve. Press and hold the (+) button to turn it on. Repeatedly press it to step up through 5 levels of intensity. Repeatedly press the (-) to step the intensity back down. Press and hold it to turn it off.

With the middle button, you step through 6 different modes. Press it once and the motor near the handle is on but the one in the tip is off. Press it again and the motor in the tip is on and the one in the handle is off. The 3rd and 4th clicks give you pulsating patterns and on the 5th click, the motors alternate back and fourth. On the 6th click you get another pulsating pattern. Press it one more time and you are back in steady vibration mode. You can adjust the intensity while in any mode by pressing the (+) and (-) buttons. You cannot independently control the intensity of each motor.

Je Joue G-Kii buttons

The G-Kii charges through a magnetic connection and the buttons are also the charging contacts. A full charge is reached in 2 hours and that is supposed to give you 2 hours of run time. While charging, the small red light will flash and will stay on when complete.

This vibrator is made of silicone and plastic, which are nonporous, body-safe materials. I think Je Joue has some of the nicest silicone out there. It’s similar to LELO’s silicone but softer and silkier. It doesn’t attract a lot of lint and has very little drag. The manual states that it is waterproof but warns against submerging it for long periods of time (I have no idea what Je Joue considers a long time). It is easily cleaned with soap and water or you could use a toy cleaner. To sanitize it you can use a 10% bleach solution and rinse thoroughly with water. As always, it’s safest to use water-based lube with silicone sex toys. If you decide to experiment with silicone or hybrid lube, make sure to spot test first.

When fully extended, the G-Kii is 8.5 inches long and about 5 inches are insertable. The tip is 1.35 inches in diameter and tapers to 1 inch along the shaft, then it begins to flare back out into the handle. It comes in 4 colors: black, fuchsia, purple and lavender. The packaging is fairly nice but you don’t get a storage pouch. I think the box is meant for storage but at this price point, you really ought to get a storage pouch. Je Joue covers the G-Kii with a one year warranty.

SexnCare made my dreams come true when they sent me the G-Kii. I might not be able to use it as a dual stimulator but as a G-spotting vibrator, it is fantastic. I love it for both internal and external stimulation and will definitely experiment by pairing it up with some of my other vibes and dildos but something tells me my favorite way to use it is always going to be with the Uma. There’s just something about the combination of those two toys that gives me exactly what I need for orgasms that I don’t have to work very hard for. I’m not saying you have to get both of them because the G-Kii is a great vibe that can certainly stand on its own but I’m just really glad I did.

Je Joue Uma

What I’m about to say borders on the blasphemous. I never expected the Je Joue Uma to virtually usurp two of my favorite vibrators. In fact, I’m still trying to come to terms with it but I think I love the Uma more than my We-Vibe Tango and LELO Mona 2. I’ll wait and give you a moment for that to sink in.

How in the world could the Uma earn my adoration over a top notch G-spot vibe and an equally amazing clitoral vibe? It’s all in that rumble. The Uma vibrates at a frequency that I’ve not felt in other vibes. This baby purrs like a 1960’s muscle car. It resonates perfectly with my body for internal and external stimulation. It’s so good, I wish I had two of them so I could use them simultaneously… which would undoubtedly be many levels of epic.

The Uma simply doesn’t mess around. The vibration is powerful and deeply penetrating. From within, I can feel it radiating all through me, even all the way up into my chest. This thing rumbles me from the inside out. I’m nearly at a loss for words to describe just how much I adore it for G-spot stimulation and yet, I think my clit loves it even more.

Completely effortless orgasms… that’s what Uma does for me. And that says a lot when you consider that it wasn’t all that long ago that I was damn near totally anorgasmic. How could I not fall head over heels for a vibrator that makes it so easy for me to feel so good? I can even get off with it on the lowest setting which is a deep slow rumble. Yet, the highest setting works equally well and doesn’t numb me at all. I truly enjoy this vibrator on all intensities, which is unusual. Time after time, I can attain multiple orgasms with the Uma. This vibrator has earned its spot in the top drawer of my nightstand and only the best of the best go in there.

Most G-spot vibrators and dildos are more rocking toys than thrusting toys for me but the Uma is amazing for thrusting. The angle at which it’s bent is just perfect and as I thrust, it pushes against my G-spot and then pulls at it on the backstroke. It’s just a glorious sensation. It’s perfectly cantilevered so, I don’t have to push down on the handle as hard as I do with most other G-spot toys. I can simply thrust with it at my leisure and allow it to work its magic.

I even love the way the handle is shaped and where the buttons are located. It fits perfectly in my hand and allows me to hold it in a position that doesn’t strain my arm so, it doesn’t cramp up while I’m thrusting, which is what often happens with other toys.

Most of the time, I use my toys solo but I love the Uma so much that I couldn’t resist using it with dizzyguy and it works really well. It has a low profile and it’s slim enough that I can easily use it on my clit while we have sex.

There is truly not one thing about the Uma that I would change. The only problem I have is deciding if I want to use it internally or externally and I just can’t help but switch back and forth. Oh, what I wouldn’t give for a second one. Seriously, just thinking about it while I’m writing this is getting me aroused. It makes me want to take a break and go rub one out. How awesome is a sex toy when it can do that?

Je Joue Uma

The Uma is absolutely perfect for me in every way. It’s exceedingly difficult for me to find anything to complain about but I suppose it might not be large enough for some and I even wonder what it would feel like with a bit more girth. So, if you really need size the Uma might leave you wanting but then, I think it’s possible that the vibration is powerful enough to overcome that.

OK, there is something that annoys me. I might be nitpicking and it has nothing at all to do with the vibrator itself but for the price you pay for the Uma, it really sticks in my craw that Je Joue didn’t include a storage pouch. I mean really, I shouldn’t have to store my beloved, luxurious Uma in a ziplock bag. Come on Je Joue… what’s up with that?

There is just one other thing that I think Je Joue could improve upon but it doesn’t really bother me because I don’t use it. The middle button, that cycles through the patterns, is incredibly hard to press. I have to push on it so hard to get it to actuate that it actually hurts my finger a bit. Since I don’t normally get a lot of enjoyment from patterns this doesn’t matter too much to me but some folks might find it irritating. I guess on the other hand, it does ensure that you aren’t going to accidentally switch modes by bumping the button.

The Uma has 5 levels of steady vibration and as I said before, they all feel fantastic. The lowest steady vibration is one of the rumbliest I’ve felt. There are 6 patterns of escalation and pulsation. Oddly, the manual states that there are 7 levels of intensity and 7 patterns but the company’s website says 5 levels of intensity and I definitely count 6 patterns so maybe they are considering the steady vibration mode as a pattern when they claim there are 7.

There are 3 buttons and operation is pretty straightforward. Press and hold the + button to turn it on. Press it repeatedly to step through the 5 levels of steady vibration. Repeatedly press the – button to step the intensity back down. Press and hold to turn it off. In the middle, there is a ~ button. Press it repeatedly to cycle through the patterns. While on a pattern, you can vary its intensity with the + and – buttons. The + and – buttons take a fair amount of pressure to actuate. You aren’t going to feel or hear much of a click. The ~ button is , as mentioned, ridiculously hard to push. The upside is that you aren’t going to inadvertently change intensity or patterns and it’s highly unlikely that this vibrator will get accidentally activated (which is good since it doesn’t have a travel lock).

The + and – buttons also serve as the charging contacts and the charging cord connects via a nice strong magnet. While it’s charging, the small red light on the handle of the Uma will flash. When fully charged the light will stay on. It takes 2 hours to fully charge and that is supposed to give you 2 hours of run time.

The Uma isn’t what I’d call whisper quiet but it’s not going to get the attention of everyone in the house either. On the lower intensities it’s OK but on the higher ones, it does get a bit noisy.

Just like everything else about the Uma, the silicone is wonderful. It feels incredible… so soft, velvety and yes, luxurious. It doesn’t attract lint much at all and glides sensuously against my skin. Even with minimal drag, I still require lubricant and I use water-based lube, which is suggested in the manual. The Uma is, of course, body safe, nonporous and phthalates free. I wouldn’t be reviewing it if it weren’t. It’s completely waterproof so, feel free to take it into the bath. Cleaning is simple with antibacterial soap and water or, you could use a toy cleaner. If you need to sanitize it, you can bathe it in a 10% bleach solution.

umacolors

Uma comes in four colors – purple, fuchsia, lilac and black (which I think looks very elegant). It measures about 7.5” end to end and roughly 4.5” is insertable. It is 1.4” in diameter. So, not great for size queens (however, I think power queens will be quite pleased) but it’s a manageable girth for most. The box is sturdy and it’s obvious by its construction that it’s intended for storage but I still think a pouch should have been included, especially for travel. Je Joue covers the Uma with a one year warranty.

Je Joue calls the Uma an “all-rounder” and I totally agree that it’s equally great for G-spot stimulation as well as clitoral stimulation. I can’t decide which way I like using it more and you might end up yearning for two of them, just like I do. It’s not often that I am completely satisfied with something. I am a bit of a jaded pessimist and I can find fault in damn near anything. Yet, I am absolutely delighted with the Uma. The shape, the power, the rumble, the silicone… it’s all simply perfection. Not only do I recommend the Je Joue Uma, I say it’s a must have and I implore you to get one. If my experience with the Uma is any kind of predictor then I’m really eager to try more from Je Joue.

The Je Joue Uma was provided by a retailer I am no longer affiliated with, in exchange for an unbiased review.
