Mona Wave

LELO isn’t a company that I promote anymore. I encourage you to read this before purchasing their products.

If the MONA 2 was just too powerful for you and you’ve always dreamed of slowly being fingered by a robot then the new MONA Wave was made just for you. The hype leading up to the release of this vibe was huge. Excitement amongst reviewers was palpable. Everyone had high hopes that it would be the greatest thing ever. But when you have such high expectations, there’s the chance for monumental disappointments. LELO earnestly tried to improve upon their already epic G-spot vibe by throwing some technology at it. And I’m sure it sounded like a good idea at the time.

I mean, what LELO tried to do here was promising. They attempted to simulate the classic “come hither” motion that is so well known as a G-spot stimulation technique. And the MONA Wave, sort of does that… sort of. It approximates the “come hither” motion but it’s in no hurry to do so. Seriously, the motion is painfully slow and it operates at one fixed speed. That’s just not going to get the job done for most folks with a G-spot. I think the wave motion really was a novel and inspired idea in theory, it just missed the mark in its execution.

There definitely needs to be a range of speed for the wave motion but I also think there needs to be more of a curl (a bit more like this), if they really want to stimulate the G-spot. Maybe, instead of trying to retrofit an existing vibe with new technology, they would have been better off creating an entirely new vibrator with a different shape that would better complement the wave motion.

Mona wave and 2

MONA Wave and the superior MONA 2

Probably worse than the disappointingly slow wave motion is the fact that the MONA Wave’s vibration is weaker than MONA 2. No kidding. Why in the world would LELO do that? I should be able to say that if the wave motion doesn’t impress you then at least you still have the awesomeness that is MONA, but I can’t. So, even though the MONA Wave is the latest and (arguably) greatest from LELO, I simply can’t recommend it over the MONA 2. If you don’t like the wave motion, there are modes where it’s off and then the Mona Wave operates like a weakling imposter of the MONA 2. But if that’s the way you end up using it most of the time then you’re much better off getting the MONA 2, which is more powerful and costs less.

So, the wave motion isn’t that great and it’s not as powerful as its predecessor. Could there possibly be anything else for me to complain about? As a matter of fact, yes. The noise – it’s so fucking loud. Imagine a generic robot movement sound effect from a 1980s sci-fi movie. Yep, that’s what it sounds like. I found it distracting and my vagina didn’t muffle it. It might be a little difficult to be discreet with this one.

Make sure you have your speakers turned on when you play this video.

Now, let’s talk about how I use most G-spot toys. I like to push town pretty hard on the handle to force the head of the toy firmly into my G-spot, that way I get maximum stimulation. When I tried that with the wave motion on, it sounded like the motor was straining. If I continued to use it that way, it wouldn’t surprise me if the motor eventually gave out.Mona Wave buttons

Is there anything I like about the MONA Wave? Well, yeah… the silicone is great – typical from LELO. It’s silky soft with minimum drag and it’s not a lint magnet. LELO also, moved away from their plastic handles and covered this one with the same silky silicone. You’d imagine this would eliminate the seam, that exists on the MONA 2, where the silicone shaft meets the plastic handle, but it doesn’t quite. There is still a seam where the colored silicone shaft meets the white silicone handle. But it’s better than it was.

You care for the MONA Wave like any other silicone vibrator.  For more on that go hereWater-based lube is recommended.

MONA Wave colors

I love that blue and the black option is nice too.

The takeaway here (as if I haven’t already made it clear)? Get the MONA 2 instead of the MONA Wave. I seriously think it’s a better choice. If you are intrigued by the wave motion and just have to have it, I can honestly say it is a pretty nice vibrator and if I’d never felt the MONA 2, I might not be as critical. Just know that the MONA Wave doesn’t quite live up to the infamous reputation of its predecessor. This is not the same vibe with a cult following that is loved far and wide by reviewers everywhere. In fact, most of the MONA Wave reviews I’ve read slant toward the negative with mostly the same complaints but as always, we’re all different and some people do really like it. That said, if I was helping my best friend choose a vibrator, I’d definitely tell her to get the MONA 2.

LELO SIRI 2

LELO isn’t a company that I promote anymore. I encourage you to read this before purchasing their products.

I really like the SIRI 2. There, I said it. It’s a nice little clit vibe. Gets the job done. There’s not much to complain about, really. Does it take the place of one of my favorite clit vibes, the We-Vibe Touch? Uhm, no. But if I’d never tried the Touch, the SIRI 2 might come close to winning one of those exclusive spots in my night stand drawer.

I was instantly impressed with SIRI 2’s power the very first time I turned it on. I immediately had the thought that this vibe was probably gonna float my boat. And when the time came to introduce it to my clit, I was not disappointed. Orgasms were had and everyone went home happy.

Now, I shall step upon my soapbox. This sound responsive mode – I don’t need it. It’s just not necessary. I like this vibe well enough and not one bit of my appreciation was earned by the sound responsive mode. I know that it’s LELO’s big whiz-bang feature but I couldn’t care less about it. It was fun for like five minutes but it’s not going to get me off and I’ll likely never put it in that mode ever again. This would have been a solid little clit vibe without the sound responsive mode, which only serves to drive up the price, at least that’s how I see it. You might very well think it’s better than sliced bread and use it in that mode all the time. But for me, all I need is steady vibration with variable intensity and I’m happier than this guy.

LELO SIRI bottom

That tiny hole is where it picks up sound. I do wonder how they waterproofed that. Another reviewer had hers malfunction and it’s not clear if she just received a faulty one or if water did get in there. So far, I’ve had no problems but I’ve never submerged mine.

In addition to steady vibration and the sound responsive mode, there are 8 patterns. I guess they’re OK if patterns are your thing but I don’t use them.

I do have one other complaint about this vibe. The buttons aren’t the easiest to push while I’m using it, without having to take a momentary break in the action. I try to push down on the buttons while I still have it on my clit and most of the time, I just cant. This gets even more difficult if you’ve got some lube on your fingers, which is likely to happen. I usually have to stop, hold the SIRI 2 in one hand and press down on the buttons with the other. And who likes having to stop what they’re doing to adjust the intensity? I guess the good part is, you won’t be accidentally hitting the buttons and changing settings but I really wish they were a bit more sensitive.

LELO makes a few claims about how much better the SIRI 2 is than the original SIRI and I can’t tell you if it’s all true because I don’t have the SIRI. But I do know one HUGE improvement is that the SIRI 2 is waterproof. The original SIRI was not and that’s largely why I wasn’t all that interested in it.

The SIRI 2’s vibration feels remarkably like that of the We-Vibe Touch in terms of power. It’s very subtle, almost imperceptible but the SIRI 2 feels slightly buzzier than the Touch. Where the Touch wins for me is that it’s easier to hold onto, easier to press the button and my clit prefers the Touch’s pointed tip over SIRI 2’s rounded tip. Other than that, the two are very comparable.

You take care of the SIRI 2 just like any other silicone vibe. For more on that, go here. Water-based lube is recommended. It takes two hours to fully charge and LELO claims that will give you two hours of run time. It’s nicely packaged, comes with a storage pouch and has a one year warranty.

SIRI 2 colors

The SIRI 2 is a good clit vibe but I wish they would have forgotten about the sound responsive mode and just lowered the price. Then again, I’m a simple kind of gal and I don’t really need anything beyond strong rumbly steady vibration, which the SIRI 2 has plenty of. Maybe some folks will have fun with the sound responsive mode but I have no use for it. It’s like LELO thought they had to add some fancy bells and whistles to make the SIRI 2 special but it still would have been a great vibe with just the basics.

LELO LUNA Smart Bead

LELO isn’t a company that I promote anymore. I encourage you to read this before purchasing their products.

I am totally bewildered by the LELO LUNA Smart Bead. It’s like, I don’t want to believe that LELO released something this lame. But I have to believe it because there’s been a slew of what-the-fuck products from LELO lately. Most notably, the Ida and Ora – the Ora having been so bad that they immediately released the Ora 2, which apparently still sucks. I’ve tried neither of those toys but I’ve read enough reviews to know they’re a train wreck and it’s looking like the LUNA Smart Bead is another disaster.

The LUNA Smart Bead is supposed to be a pelvic floor muscle exerciser. It’s supposed to somehow sense how strong your muscles are and it’s supposed to progress you through 5 levels depending on your performance. You’re also supposed to be able to feel the vibration, as that’s the whole point. You squeeze your muscles when it vibrates and release when it stops. Except, I can barely feel it vibrating at all. I’m laying there like: Is it vibrating? Did it finish? What’s going on down there? Hello? Is this thing on? And yes, I used a fresh battery.

So, maybe since I can’t feel the vibration very well, I’m not flexing when I’m supposed to or for long enough and that must make the LUNA Smart Bead think I have some weak-ass PC muscles. It’s possible that I’ve been lied to but I’ve been told by more than one fella that I have incredible control of my PC muscles. So according to penises my vag can tighten like vice grip but according to the Smart Bead, it’s all weak and flabby and needs to pump some iron. Maybe it just hurts my pride but I really did expect the Smart Bead to start me out on at least level 3. Another reviewer suspects that it’s not sensing anything at all and just starts out on level one regardless of how toned your PC muscles are and that might very well be true.

So OK, it starts me out on level one… big deal. I could still use it to exercise my muscles except that whole thing about not feeling it. This thing needs to have a MUCH stronger motor. Maybe I just have a numb vagina because I don’t feel regular kegel balls bouncing around either. But I really thought I’d be able to feel the Smart Bead better than this.

Also making me question LELO’s sanity, is the fact that they made the Smart Bead battery operated. Very odd for a company known for its high quality rechargeable vibrators. Apparently, they opted to make it battery operated to keep the price reasonable but I don’t think it is. I think the price is too high for what this thing does… or, what it doesn’t do.

As much as I’d like to skip it, I’ll briefly cover some of the details of the Smart Bead. It’s silicone. It runs on one AAA battery (one is included). It supposedly remembers your training history even when you change the battery. It’s supposed to be waterproof but other reviewers have found that gunk seeped in at the seam where it opens. I noticed a small trace amount of something when I opened it up. It comes in two colors: pink and pinker.

It has one button. Press to turn it on. The light will blink the number of times for the level you’re on. Three blinks means you’re on level 3. Press and hold to turn it off. You can also put it into continuous vibration mode for, as LELO hilariously says, pleasure. But if this thing fails at its intended purpose as a kegel exerciser, I highly doubt it’s going to be strong enough to bring anyone any pleasure.

I think I’ve liked everything I’ve tried from LELO up to this point. This is my first real disappointment and I’m certain I would have also been disappointed by the other flops they’ve released this year. I’m really hoping LELO is on an upward swing with the recently released Mona Wave (which I should have soon) and another vibrator that I can’t talk about yet (but stay tuned).

Smart Bead sucksBottom line? I gotta say skip this one. Maybe get the original LUNA Beads instead. I haven’t tried them yet but several reliable reviewers have great things to say about them and they cost a lot less. And if you’re not necessarily looking for a kegel exerciser but you want something from LELO that kicks ass then get yourself a MONA 2. It is the absolute best vibe LELO makes and I highly recommend it.

I should probably be ranting and raving about how much the Smart Bead sucks but I don’t even care that much. It’s not even worth getting snarky about it. It’s such a let down that I just want to forget it and move on – like it never happened. What else can I really say about the LUNA Smart Bead? It just doesn’t work for me and I can’t imagine it working well for anyone else either.

LELO Hula Beads

LELO isn’t a company that I promote anymore. I encourage you to read this before purchasing their products.

I have to admit, the idea of sticking a radio controlled electromechanical device in my vagina and leaving it there while I go about my business seemed kind of strange at first but now that I’ve tried it, I think I kind of like it. LELO’s Hula Beads are vaginal pleasure beads with a twist, literally… because they rotate while they vibrate. The SenseMotion technology makes using the remote control a lot of fun. They’re very comfortable and wearing them makes mundane tasks a little less boring.

Let’s get one thing straight right away, the Hula Beads are never going to give me orgasms but to be fair, I require clitoral stimulation for that to happen. If I use a vibrator on my clit while wearing them, it does enhance the orgasm but that’s not really how I like using them. I actually enjoy just wearing them while I do other things… like, watching TV or surfing the internet. Cooking, laundry, whatever – it’s all more entertaining with the Hula Beads all up in me.

My first thought when I saw the Hula Beads was that they’d be really great for couples to use secretly out in public. The idea of going out in public with a sex toy inserted that can be controlled by a partner appeals to many. I think the Hula Beads are discreet enough for that, especially in an environment with some background noise. The remote vibrates and I assume that’s to give the operator some feedback but I think it might be loud enough to blow your cover. Luckily LELO thought of everything. You can turn off the remote’s vibration in all three modes by pressing and holding the middle button. You just won’t have that feedback that tells you what your partner is feeling.

Hula Beads frame

The Hula Beads’ vibrations aren’t the strongest you’re ever gonna feel but for remote controlled vaginal beads, it’s not bad. LELO says that the rotations stimulate the G-spot but it’s not quite working out that way for me. The rotations do provide a little bit of a pleasant squirmy sensation but really, my G-spot couldn’t care less. I need a lot stronger stimulation and pressure to please my G-spot. They are comfortable to wear for extended periods, they stay in place while I move around and I don’t notice the retrieval cord at all.

To begin, you first press and hold the button on the beads until the light comes on. If you want to use them without the remote you press the button again. This mode isn’t the most practical because the vibration intensity is fixed but more importantly, you can’t cycle through the functions without removing the beads, obviously. After you have turned the Hula Beads on (by pressing the button only once) you can turn the remote on by pressing and holding the (+) button. It can take 5-10 seconds for the beads to detect the remote.

Hula Beads remote

The remote control has three modes of operation. When you press and hold the (+) button to turn it on, it starts in Sensmotion 1. In this mode, steady vibration and rotation speed can be varied by how you hold the remote. Hold it horizontally and the Hula Beads vibrate at 10% intensity. Hold the remote vertically and they vibrate at 100% intensity. Any angle between those two positions gives varying vibration speed and intensity. I really enjoy playing with them in this mode. It’s fun to control the intensity this way.

From Sensmotion 1 mode, press the center button and the remote is now in Sensmotion 2 mode. In this mode you shake the remote back and forth and the faster you do it, the higher the intensity. I’m not a big fan of this mode. It’s just doesn’t work out too well if you’re trying to go about your business with these inserted while shaking the remote around all the time. This mode might be better suited for couple’s play.

Press the center button one more time and the remote is in pre-programmed mode. In this mode the Hula Beads operate like other LELO vibrators where intensity can be changed with the (+) and (-) buttons. This mode also has 5 familiar LELO patterns and you repeatedly press the center button to scroll through them. When you get to the last pattern and press the center button one more time, the remote goes back to Sensmotion 1 mode. I think it would have been nice to cycle back to the steady vibration in the pre-programmed mode instead. Because if you want to get back to that function, you have to press the center button two more times. In all three modes, if you want to turn the remote’s vibration off, press and hold the center button.

In any mode, on any function the rotation and vibration speeds are synchronized. They can’t be independently controlled and you can’t turn one off and not the other. I think that would have been a nice feature to have. While in any operation mode, you press and hold the (-) button to turn off the remote then the Hula Beads go into stand-by for one hour; remaining receptive to the signal from the remote.

The Hula Beads are nonporous and body-safe as are all LELO products. They’re made of silicone and plastic. I wasn’t sure what the retrieval cord was made of so I asked LELO and they told me that it was ABS plastic. This confused me because I had no idea that ABS could be flexible like this but indeed it can. It is commonly sold in filament form on spools for 3D printing. They can be washed with soap and water or you could use a toy cleaner. Wash them in a 10% bleach solution if you need to sanitize them.

The beads are fully water-proof so it is safe to submerge them. LELO says that the charging socket is sealed from the internal workings of the beads. It still makes me feel a little uneasy that water can get into the charging socket and obviously, you want to make sure it’s completely dry in there when you plug it in to charge. Also, this open socket is a place for lube and body fluids to collect in a location that’s difficult to clean. I would really like to see LELO move toward either inductive charging or magnetic contacts to eliminate this problem. LELO claims the remote is waterproof but I had my doubts. However, after thoroughly submerging it for a couple of minutes, it continued to work with no problems and the battery compartment appeared to be dry.

A full charge is reached in about 2 hours and that is supposed to provide 1.5 hours of run time. The light on the beads blinks while it is charging and glows steady when complete. Standby is 90 days. The remote requires 2 AAA batteries and a set is included. LELO says the remote should run up to 10 hours on a set of batteries.

Hula Beads colors

The Hula Beads come in 3 colors – Ocean Blue, Deep Rose and Black. They are 4.25 inches long and 1.5 inches in diameter at the widest point. LELO recommends water-based lube and that’s a safe bet since some silicone-based lube can damage some silicone sex toys. The packaging is LELO’s standard and it’s a nice presentation. The beads come with a storage pouch and a key for opening the remote. You don’t necessarily need the key to open it but it makes it easier.LELO Hula Beads

I had mentioned to another reviewer that the Hula Beads made mundane tasks (like cooking) more fun, and she suggested that the LELO Luna Beads could also make mundane tasks more fun and they cost a lot less. That is a good point. The Hula Beads are expensive… maybe even a touch too expensive. I don’t have the Luna Beads so I can’t make that comparison but they don’t do all of the nifty things the Hula Beads do (like vibrate and rotate and operate via remote control). Still, they’re going to be in more people’s price range and they are highly recommended by reviewers. Despite the high price tag, I still think the Hula Beads are pretty cool but they probably aren’t going to be orgasm inducing for anyone but maybe – and that’s a big maybe – the most uber-sensitive.

LELO isn’t a company that I promote anymore. I encourage you to read this before purchasing their products.

“I want my Salsa.” That’s what I kept repeating in my head as I used the LELO Mia 2 for the first time. I actually longed for it… yearned for it but I was determined to finish the session with the Mia 2 and eventually, I did get there but the journey wasn’t nearly as much fun and reaching my destination wasn’t as satisfying as when I use my beloved Salsa.

I guess I was expecting something with more rumble and power, since this is LELO we’re talking about here. The Mia 2 feels buzzier than the Salsa, though nowhere nearly as buzzy as some other clit vibes I’ve tried (like the Pyxis) and slightly less powerful than the Salsa. I mean, it feels alright and all but I’d never choose it over the Salsa, unless maybe when traveling. I guess the advantages that the Mia 2 does have are its travel lock and USB charging. Now, normally I hate USB charging but in this case, with the small (but bigger than the Salsa/Tango) discreet Mia 2, I can see how it would work well for travel, as long as you were bringing your laptop along. If not, you’d need one of those USB to A/C adapters that I’m always recommending for USB rechargeable sex toys.

So far, I’ve been pretty satisfied with the LELO vibrators I’ve tried. They do make the epic Mona 2 that I am head over heels for. The Mia 2? I don’t love it but I do like it. Had I never felt the Salsa on my clit, I’d probably have a different opinion. I still think it’s well worth the money and if I were recommending clit vibes to a friend, the Mia 2 would make the list.

Maybe my obsession with the Salsa clouds my judgment when assessing other small clit vibes but none have quite measured up in terms of strength and rumble. There are some folks out there who really love their Mia 2s and yes, some of them even have Salsas/Tangos of their own. It’s OK to really like a sex toy though, right? I mean, you can’t fall madly in love with all of them. It’s still really great to have toys that you like a lot but don’t quite love because variety is the spice of life. And if I found my Salsa dead at an inconvenient time, then I’d be happy that I could reach over and grab the Mia 2 to finish the job.

So, the Mia 2 is a solid, well made clit vibe and I really like it but it would have to be a bit stronger and rumblier to make me love it. That said, I don’t think you can really go wrong if you decide to buy it because it is LELO and with that comes quality. They’ve come a long way since the original Mia, which I’ve heard was rather weak and not waterproof. Now the Mia 2 is fully waterproof, is more powerful than before and has a couple of additional patterns. The patterns don’t do a lot for me. They’re the same patterns that can be found on other LELO vibrators and are combinations of pulsation and escalation with the 5th pattern feeling kind of random and all over the place, which is nice if you want to keep your clit guessing. For me though, it’s all about the steady vibration cranked all the way up and with that, it is strong enough to get me off so, maybe I shouldn’t judge it too harshly.

mia2.2

There are two buttons (+ and -). You press and hold the + button to turn it on and continue to hold to increase the intensity, which is continuously adjustable, rather than preset levels. I like that kind of control and it’s pretty standard for LELO vibes. From the highest steady vibration you press and hold the + button and that will take you into the patterns, of which there are 5. Press the + button repeatedly to cycle through. To get back out of the patterns, you press the – button and to turn it off, press and hold the – button. The Mia 2 does have a travel lock and it’s activated by pressing both buttons at the same time for a few seconds and it unlocks the same way.

The Mia 2 is made almost entirely of glossy hard plastic but the buttons are silicone. These materials are nonporous, phthalates free and easy to clean. You can simply wash the Mia 2 in antibacterial soap and water or you can use a toy cleaner. If you need to sanitize it, you can bathe it in a 10% bleach solution. I bet you could get away with using silicone-based lube if you wanted to. I would have no reservations about doing so but if you’re worried about the silicone buttons then water-based lube is always a safe bet.

mia2.1

Charging takes about 1 hour and a full charge should give you 1.5 hours of run time. Standby mia-2time is 90 days. The light flashes while charging and glows steady when complete. The Mia 2 is a pretty quiet vibrator and you can’t hear it behind closed doors. It comes in three colors – black, petal pink and deep rose. Packaging is fairly nice and pretty standard for LELO. You get a black satiny storage pouch and LELO covers the Mia 2 with a one year warranty.

By no means would I banish the Mia 2 off to the drawer relegated to sex toy failures (which I’m running out of room in). Most of the time, it’s not going to be the first clit vibe I reach for but it will definitely stay in rotation and I think it’s a good back up for my Salsa. I would probably prefer to travel with the Mia 2 rather than the Salsa though, because I feel it’s more discreet, has a travel lock and is USB rechargeable. The Mia 2 is a solid little clit vibe. It’s not the most powerful I have but it’s certainly not the weakest and it gives me orgasms with relative ease. Given all that, I feel confident recommending the Mia 2 to anyone who’s looking for a quality clit vibe that’s great for travel.

LELO isn’t a company that I promote anymore. I encourage you to read this before purchasing their products.

I’ve recently reviewed the LELO GIGI 2 and Liv 2 and I really like them both… then I tried the Mona 2 and wow, it’s on a whole different level. Now that I have Mona 2, I really don’t see myself reaching for either one of the others. All the good things you might have heard about the Mona 2 are true. This is one amazing G spot vibrator.

The Mona 2 is another one of LELO’s redesigned second generation vibrators, like the GIGI 2 and Liv 2. They’ve made Mona 2 waterproof and LELO claims that it is 100% more powerful than the original Mona. I don’t have the original Mona so, I can’t tell you for certain that it’s more powerful but I can say that the strength of Mona 2’s vibration absolutely blows my mind. The first time I used it on the highest setting, it was almost too much for me. It vibrates my entire vulva from within.

That familiar feeling of needing to urinate from G spot stimulation was more intense than I’ve ever felt. I actually did stop and get up to use the bathroom, which is strange because I urinated right before I began my session with it and I thought I was empty. I think the Mona 2 is so powerful that it stimulated my bladder to empty again. Maybe I would have squirted if I hadn’t stopped but the sensation was so strong that I had to. After I urinated I went back and continued using the Mona 2 and I started to really enjoy the powerful vibration.

mona25

GIGI 2, Liv 2, Mona 2

This thing does stuff to me that no other vibrator I’ve tried can do. The shape is perfect for hitting my G spot and it has more girth than the GIGI 2 or Liv 2 so, it’s more satisfying. And I think that the substantial girth easily channels the vibrations right into my G spot. It’s like the vibration radiates out so much that it’s impossible to miss it. I still can’t have an orgasm from internal stimulation alone but using one of my favorite clit vibes with the Mona 2, I come so incredibly hard. I mean, they’re the kind of orgasms where it’s impossible for me to keep quiet. My body’s response is completely involuntary… and awesome! And don’t forget, just because it’s a kick ass G spot vibe, that doesn’t mean you can’t use it on your clit, if you feel like it.

I just love the Mona 2. I really do. I am at a loss for words to tell you just how much I adore it. LELO has gotten everything right with this vibrator. I honestly could not tell you one thing I’d change. It’s perfect just the way it is. If you get just one vibrator from LELO, get this one!

The Mona 2 operates the same as GIGI 2 and Liv2 except it has four individual buttons instead of a central dial. To turn it on you press and hold the plus (+)mona23 button. To increase the intensity you continue to hold the + button. To turn it off, press and hold the minus (-) button and as you continuously hold it, the intensity decreases. The button with the arrow pointing up cycles up through the 6 modes (consisting of steady vibration and five patterns of escalation and pulsation) and the arrow pointing down cycles back through to steady vibration. It is possible that the Mona 2 on high might be too much for very sensitive types so it’s nice that you can adjust the intensity of the patterns as well.

I love LELO’s silicone. It’s so silky soft and has very little drag. This vibrator, along with everything else LELO makes, is safe for your body because it’s nonporous, hypoallergenic and latex and phthalates free. It’s a good idea to use water based lube with the Mona 2 since some silicone lubes can damage some silicone toys. If you want to experiment with a silicone lube, spot test a very small area as close to the handle as possible. Keep in mind that if the lube is incompatible, it will damage the silicone in that spot. The finish will become gummy and sticky. If that happens, scrape the area off and wash it really well with soap and water.

mona22Speaking of washing it, cleaning the Mona 2 is simple. Usually, antibacterial soap and water are all you’ll need but if you have to sanitize it, a 10% bleach solution can be used. Since it’s fully waterproof you can use it in the tub or shower. It takes 2 hours to fully charge and that should get you around 2 hours of playtime. While it’s charging the buttons flash and when it’s finished, the buttons glow steady. The Mona 2 is quiet enough that it can’t be heard outside a room with the door closed. You, on the other hand, might make a lot of noise. It comes in 3 colors: Cerise, Purple and Red. This vibrator is 8 ½ inches along the outside curve with 5 ¼ insertable  inches. It is about 1 3/8 inches at the thickest point and it tapers down to about an inch just before the handle. The Mona 2 comes with a storage pouch and is covered by a one year warranty.

The LELO Mona 2 is everything a G spot vibrator should be. The shape is perfect for targeting my G spot and I love the girth. The controls are easy to navigate and it’s waterproof. The silicone is exceptionally soft and silky. Oh and did I mention, it’s so damn powerful that it rocks my world? Well it is and it does. Of the vibrators I’ve tested so far from LELO, the Mona 2 is hands down the absolute best. Sure the GIGI 2 and Liv 2 are nice and I enjoy them but the Mona 2 is just light years beyond that. I can easily recommend all three of these vibrators but the Mona 2 is a must have!

I received the Mona 2 from LELO in exchange for my unbiased opinion.

LELO isn’t a company that I promote anymore. I encourage you to read this before purchasing their products.

If you’ve read my recent review of the LELO GIGI 2 then you know how much I really like that vibrator. Now that I’ve had the chance to take the Liv 2 for a test drive, I’m thinking I like it more. The Liv 2 is another redesigned second generation vibrator by LELO. They’ve taken several of their popular vibrators and improved them with more powerful motors (so, they claim) and made them fully waterproof. I haven’t tried any of those first generation toys so I can’t say for certain that the new ones are more powerful but subjectively, they feel moderately powerful to me. Many of the things I love about the GIGI 2 also apply to Liv 2 but I find myself reaching for the Liv 2 more often.

Why do I like it more? Oddly enough, I feel like I get more G spot stimulation from Liv 2 than I do from GIGI 2. It’s kind of surprising to me because GIGI 2 is supposed to be optimally designed to target the G spot and while it does a good job of it, the Liv 2 seems to be even more compatible with my anatomy. It’s probably all going to boil down to personal preferences when choosing between the two. The Liv 2 fills me up a bit more than GIGI 2. It feels more substantial and Liv 2 targets my G spot best with more of a thrusting motion whereas, GIGI 2 worked better with stationary rocking. So, with the Liv 2 I get to enjoy more sensation while its thicker form works itself into and against my G spot as I thrust. I can still push the handle toward my butt and force the head of it into my G spot, just like I do with GIGI 2 but Liv 2 feels like it covers more ground. I guess what I’m trying to say is that GIGI 2 feels more directed and focused while Liv 2’s stimulation is more diffuse. I thoroughly enjoy the sensations achieved with both vibrators but I like the feeling of Liv 2 just a little bit more. I don’t think you can go wrong with either of these vibrators though. And just like GIGI 2 it feels incredible when I use Liv 2 on my clitoris.

The Liv 2 operates the same as GIGI 2 and will have the same functions. The intensity of the vibrations feel the same to me as well. It really is the form that sets these two apart. My opinion is that the vibration from both of these toys is moderately strong. I could always ask for more power but as it stands the Liv 2 is strong enough for me to enjoy. I’ve read several other reviews of these vibrators that claim that they aren’t powerful enough or the intensity is not impressive. Many of those reviewers recommend the Mona 2 for more powerful vibration so, if you’re a power queen, I just want to warn you that you might be disappointed with the Liv 2. But if you don’t need super powerful vibration then I think the Liv 2 could serve you quite well.

I like the controls on the Liv 2. They’re intuitive and despite the location, I’m not inadvertently hitting them. The single dial controller has liv3on (+) and off (-) at the east and west locations and up and down arrows north to south. To turn it on, you press and hold the on (+) button and the intensity increases as you continue to hold it. To turn it off you press and hold the off (-) button which decreases intensity as it is held. The arrow pointing toward the embossed “LELO” will scroll up through the various modes and the arrow pointing away, scrolls back down. A nice feature of these vibrators is that you have the ability to vary the intensity of the 7 patterns which is an option you don’t often find. The Liv 2 is also travel friendly because you can lock the controls by pushing the center of the dial for a few seconds. The dial flashes while charging and glows steady when fully charged. LELO claims that 2 hours of playtime can be achieved on a full charge.  Since LELO has made the new Liv 2 waterproof you can take it into the tub or shower and it makes cleaning it a lot easier. I still feel kind of uneasy about that charging port getting water into it but so far, I’ve had no problems. Just make sure it’s completely dried out before you connect the charger. I would prefer it if LELO used a magnetic charging connection like so many other manufacturers are doing with their rechargeables. Cleaning the Liv 2 is pretty simple. Antibacterial soap and water is usually all that’s needed but if you want to sanitize it, a 10% bleach solution can be used.

I love LELO’s silky soft, minimally draggy silicone. I really do wish some of my other favorite silicone sex toys were made of the same material. The FDA approved silicone is a safe and hygienic material because it’s nonporous and free of latex and phthalates (as is the ABS plastic handle). The silicone portion of the vibrator is not solid silicone. It’s layered over a rigid plastic core so, there won’t be the kind of squish that you get with other silicone toys. I actually appreciate this characteristic because it allows me to apply firm pressure against my G spot. You can get Liv 2 in four colors: Cerise, Lime Green, Blue and Plum. It is about 7 inches total with 4 1/8 inches insertable and it’s about 1 inch in diameter at the widest point.  LELO includes a storage pouch and one year warranty.

liv22The difference in form really is the only thing that has me choosing the Liv 2 over the GIGI 2 because all other specs are the same. And while Liv 2 is more filling, I still find myself wanting more girth and like I said, I could always use more power. That’s where I think the Mona 2 likely comes out ahead. So if you need a larger vibrator with more power, go with the Mona 2. If on the other hand, Liv 2’s proportions are suitable and you are satisfied with moderately strong vibration then I think it’s a vibrator you’ll be happy with. If you’re thinking of getting the Liv 2, or any other LELO toy please consider purchasing it from my affiliate, SheVibe.

LELO isn’t a company that I promote anymore. I encourage you to read this before purchasing their products.

The Swedish company, LELO makes some incredible sex toys, uhm… I mean, pleasure objects. Not the least of which is ELLA. She’s easily overlooked though because she has none of the whiz-bangs and do-dads that their other products have. But don’t dismiss her so easily. Sometimes, simplicity is exactly what’s needed. I know she’s stolen my heart and the first time I used her, I squirted for the third time in my life.

ELLA is a G spot targeting dildo and wow, does it ever target. It looks a lot like the LELO GIGI 2 that I recently reviewed but of course ELLA doesn’t vibrate. Despite the fact that it doesn’t vibrate, it still gave me one of the most powerful squirting orgasms I’ve ever had. Well, I should clarify that ELLA didn’t do that all by herself. I haven’t been able to have pure G spot orgasms so, I need simultaneous clitoral stimulation to reach orgasm. My We-Vibe Touch fills that position nicely.lelo ella dildo gigi vibrator

I absolutely adore the GIGI 2 and I wasn’t sure what I would think about ELLA but she’s definitely turned out to be a sleeper. I use ELLA in much the same way that I use GIGI 2. I get the most stimulation, the kind that leads to crazy strong orgasms, by inserting it rather deeply and pushing the handle toward my rear. That forces the head up into my G spot and gives me the pressure against it that I need. Sometimes I’ll give it a slight rocking motion from this position and sometimes, I’ll just hold it there, pressing against my G spot. Thrusting the ELLA straight in and out feels OK but it’s not exactly the stimulation I need to have orgasms with it.

The first time I used ELLA ended up being the second day in a row that I squirted all over my bed (and just the third time I’ve ever squirted). You’d best believe I’ve got a Liberator Throe on its way to me right now. Because apparently, this squirting thing is going to happen a lot more often now that I have amazing toys like the ELLA. The orgasms I have with this dildo in conjunction with a clit vibe are hard to describe. It feels so different from my purely clitoral orgasms. The pressure I feel as I’m nearing orgasm is stronger and a lot more enjoyable. And then the release is explosive… and wet.

I like the ELLA because it is so simple. There’s really nothing to worry about as far as care and maintenance. The one stipulation is that water based lube should be used. If you want to experiment with a silicone lube please test a spot on the handle with just a tiny amount. I’ve experimented this way with many of my silicone toys and have yet to encounter a problem and I’ve had great success with Sliquid Silk hybrid lube.  If it turns out that the silicone toy and the silicone lube are incompatible, the surface of the test spot will become tacky. If this happens, scrape the area off and wash well. With the ELLA however, you might not want to risk it because the shape of the handle is also perfect for insertion. I haven’t used it this way but other reviewers have and it sounds as though they enjoy it. The ELLA is 7 ¼ inches along the outside curve. The flattened upturned head is 4 ½ inches around. The thinnest part of the shaft is 2 ½ inches around and the widest part of the handle is 4 inches around.

Cleaning couldn’t be more simple. Antibacterial soap and water always works as does a toy cleaner. If you need to sanitize it you can do so by boiling for a few minutes or bathing in a 10% bleach solution. It’s thanks to the nonporous nature of LELO’s FDA approved silicone, that it can be completely sterilized. The other great thing about silicone is that it’s phthalates free and hypoallergenic. The feel of it is luscious and silky against the skin and there’s practically no drag which means the lube tends to last longer. And even though ELLA is made of pure silicone, it’s not squishy at all. It’s very solid and rigid and I think it’s just perfect for applying pressure to the G spot. You can get this dildo in three colors: black, white and rose. I think the black looks elegant. As with all LELO toys, it comes with its own satiny storage pouch. And while there’s not a lot that can go wrong with this toy, LELO still provides a one year warranty.

The ELLA is one of those toys that makes me glad that I got into reviewing sex toys. It’s taught me things about my body that I’ve gone my whole life not knowing. I’ll admit, at first I wasn’t overly excited about this dildo. I thought for sure that I needed vibration, like that of GIGI 2, to have an orgasm but this is delightfully not true. I think ELLA is a workhorse of a sex toy. It’s durable, simplistic in design and gets the job done. If internal vibration does nothing for you then the ELLA is an even better choice because you’ll get the same G spotting shape of the GIGI 2 but for a lot less money. And even if you enjoy internal vibration, you might just be surprised by the ELLA, like I was. If you’re interested in learning how to squirt I wholeheartedly recommend this dildo but remember, just because it makes me squirt that doesn’t mean it will for every woman. But I’ve read a few other reviews about the ELLA which claim that it led to squirting for the first time. So, for the price and performance of this dildo I can enthusiastically say, it’s a must have.

sensualintelligence

Sensual Intelligence graciously sent me the ELLA in exchange for my honest opinion. I encourage you to stop by their site and take a look around. Their philosophy is definitely one that I can support. When you shop there you can be confident that the sex toys are safe and environmentally friendly because every item on their site meets their eco-friendly and body-safe criteria. The toys are phthalates-free and latex-free so they are body-safe. All vibrators on their site are rechargeable and most of them are even RoHS certified, meaning none of their components contain metals that will further down the line contaminate our landfills.

lelo gigi 2 g spot vibrator

LELO isn’t a company that I promote anymore. I encourage you to read this before purchasing their products.

LELO is a Swedish luxury sex toy company that is well known for the quality of their products. Their sex toys, or pleasure objects as they like to call them, are widely well received so, it might come as a bit of surprise that they would go back to the drawing board to improve the products that so many have already been satisfied with. Several of their very popular vibrators have been redesigned into second generation models, like the GIGI 2. The original GIGI was already a best seller but LELO thought they could improve on the original design by making it completely waterproof and equipping it with a more powerful motor. I’ve had the opportunity to try the GIGI 2 and I am loving this G spot stimulating vibrator.

I don’t have the original GIGI so I can’t say for certain that GIGI 2 is 100% more powerful, as LELO claims but I am impressed with the strength of its vibrations. This is probably the most powerful G spot vibrator that I’ve tried so far with the somewhat similar PicoBong Moka a very close second. The main difference I notice between the GIGI 2 and the Moka’s vibrations is the quality. By that I mean, how the vibrations feel. Is it rumbly, where you feel it deep down into the internal clitoris or, is it buzzy and mainly felt on the surface? While I wouldn’t classify either of these vibrators as buzzy, I do feel as though GIGI 2’s vibrations are a touch more rumbly and I feel it deeper.

lelo gigi 2 g spot vibratorI like the controls on this vibrator. I thought that their location, right where your thumb naturally rests while gripping the handle, would have me inadvertently hitting them but that hasn’t been the case. The controls are in the form of a dial with – and + functions east to west and up and down arrows north to south. To turn GIGI 2 on you press and hold the + side of the dial. As you continue to hold down the +, the vibration increases in intensity. To turn it off you can press and hold the – or, press straight down on the center of the circle. To scroll through the 7 patterns you press the arrow that points toward the embossed “LELO” on the handle. To scroll back down through the patterns and return to steady vibration, you press the arrow that points away from the embossed “LELO”. One thing that I really like about the controls, that you don’t normally find on many vibrators but is standard for most LELO toys, is that you can vary the intensity of the patterns. I always prefer the strongest vibration I can get so, I crank it to high and leave it there but if you’re more sensitive than I am or, you like a slow build up, it’s great to have the ability to lower the intensity of the patterns. The controls can be locked by pressing down on the center of the dial for five seconds and to unlock, do the same.

LELO improved on the original GIGI by making the GIGI 2 fully waterproof. I don’t know how they’ve done it because the socket where you connect the charger is exposed. It’s not charged though a magnetic connection like many other rechargeable waterproof vibrators. But I have gotten water in there and have had no problems with this vibe. I do however, like to let it thoroughly dry out before I plug the charger back in. I’ve been getting all the run time I could want out of the GIGI 2 and LELO states that it should run for 2 hours on a single charge. When you plug in the charger, the control dial illuminates around the outside edge and it blinks while it is in the process of charging. When charging is complete, it glows steadily.

I absolutely adore GIGI 2’s silky soft FDA approved matte silicone. It makes me wish that all my silicone sex toys could feel as good. It just glides over my skin with minimal drag. I always have to use lube for any vaginal toy but the fact that there is hardly any drag means that I don’t have to reapply as often. The ABS plastic and silicone construction of this vibrator means that it is latex and phthalates free. It also means that this vibrator can be sanitized in a 10% bleach solution or for routine cleaning, a thorough wash in antibacterial soap and water will do.

lelo gigi 2 g spot vibratorYou can get the GIGI 2 in one of four colors: Cool Gray, Pink, Turquoise Blue and Deep Rose. It’s the silicone portion of the vibrator that will be in one of those colors. They all have a white handle and a metallic silver colored band between the handle and the silicone. GIGI 2 is about 6 ¾ inches along the outside curve with 4 ¼ inches insertable. The oval shaped head is 4 inches around and the shaft is 3 inches. The packaging is fairly nice and sturdy enough for storage, though it will take up more room than storing the vibrator in the included satin pouch.  This vibrator is very quiet.  Under a thick blanket it could barely be heard.  You can have confidence in your purchase because LELO covers the GIGI 2 with a one year warranty.

So, do I like it? Absolutely. The vibrations are powerful enough to satisfy me. I’ve heard other reviewers say that LELO’s MONA 2 is more powerful. So if you’re a power queen the MONA 2 might be a better choice. Personally though, GIGI 2 has all the power I need to feel it resonate within me. The shape of this G spot targeting vibrator is perfect. Its upturned flattened head finds my G spot effortlessly. I like to thrust this vibrator with a simultaneous rocking motion but I also enjoy holding it steady while pushing the handle toward my rear. This forces the head up against my G spot and I can achieve the pressure that I require. I have yet to experience an orgasm from G spot stimulation alone but when I use the GIGI 2 in conjunction with one of my favorite clit vibes, the orgasms are amazing. The GIGI 2 isn’t just great for G spotting, it also makes a fabulous clitoral vibrator. That flat head of silky silicone is perfect for stroking across my clit. I can easily have orgasms from using it this way as well.

I am really enjoying myself with this vibrator and I have to look really hard to find anything I would change but there is one thing. It would be great if the GIGI 2 was a bit longer. To reach my G spot I need it inserted all the way to the handle. This doesn’t leave a lot to hold onto. I suppose I have average length arms and it’s a stretch for me to reach that handle. If LELO ever decides to make a GIGI 3 I would love to see it made longer. That would give me more to grip and I could get more leverage to force the head up into my G spot. Not only that but a little more length would make it compatible for those whose G spot is located deeper. Other than that one little complaint, I think the GIGI 2 is nearly perfect and I am very happy with it. Its strength and shape together work amazingly well to stimulate my G spot and I have no hesitation in recommending this vibrator. Those with a short reach, deep G spot or power queens might be better off choosing the MONA 2 but whichever one you choose, you’ll be getting LELO’s superb engineering and quality.

Thanks to LELO for sending me the GIGI 2 in exchange for my honest opinion.
