A ceramic vibrator? You just know I had to have one. I really liked Pipedream’s Ceramix No. 5 dildo so, I was curious about the vibrators from that line. The fact that this vibrator looks like something from Super Mario Bros. made me want it even more (and of course I had to photochop it). Sadly, the Ceramix No. 9 did not do one good thing for me and I don’t like a single thing about it, other than how it looks. OK, the cool sleek ceramic was kind of nice but the shape isn’t great and the vibration is weak… and I don’t know anyone who buys vibrators just to look at them.

The Ceramix No. 9 really just bored me to tears. There was just… nothingness. No stimulation whatsoever. The shape did nothing to stimulate me vaginally and the vibration is so weak that there’s no way it could arouse my G-spot or even bring me to clitoral orgasm. I would be seriously disappointed had I purchased this vibrator for myself, instead of receiving it in exchange for a review.

About the only thing I can say that’s sort of positive about it (depending on your preferences) is that it’s a touch girthy at 1.6″ in diameter (and 5.5″ long, insertable).  The gradually tapered tip, does make it easier to work the girth into you. So, if you struggle with larger toys and you want to try something that’s easier to insert, this might do it. The smooth glossy ceramic finish means it slides in with very little lube.  And if you don’t need very strong vibration then this might very well work for you but really, don’t expect much from the vibration.

It feels like Pipedream used the same vibrator in the No. 9 as they did in the Pure Aluminium Large Blue Vibrator (except the Large Blue has no patterns), which also underwhelmed me.  The No. 9 has 3 levels of steady vibration and 3 patterns.  The vibration isn’t really buzzy but it’s just too weak to do anything for me.

There is a single button and you have to cycle through all the functions to turn it off. It takes 4 AAA batteries and it’s waterproof. You would think that since it’s waterproof and made of nonporous body safe materials, it would be easy to clean and it would be if not for the gap between the ceramic body and the plastic base. It’s a good place for lube and body fluids to collect and get gross so, I use a toothbrush to clean it out. Antibacterial soap and water is all you really need for cleaning or you could use a toy cleaner. To sanitize it, you can submerge it in a 10% bleach solution. Any kind of lube you want to use with it should be fine.

The No. 9 isn’t whisper quiet but it’s also not unusually loud. It does not come with a storage pouch but the box is sturdy and there is a large chunk of foam that holds the vibrator securely in the box. There is no warranty with this vibrator.

I appreciate the No. 9’s whimsy and the sensation of the glossy ceramic but beyond that, there’s just nothing else I like about it. I am happy I had the opportunity to review it but I’m glad I didn’t purchase it myself and I really can’t recommend it. However, if you want to try something from the Cermaix line that doesn’t suck, I do highly recommend the No. 5. It has a nice G-spot seeking head and it’s hollow, which allows you to fill it with warm or cold water for some really unique temperature play.

The Wahl Massager is no longer available at any of my affiliated retailers. In fact, Wahl really doesn’t want their massager sold or used as a sex toy. Shame. It’s so good at being one.

It looks kind of like a glue gun, sounds like a power tool and you’d never suspect that it’s a sex toy and that’s probably because it isn’t. The Wahl is a body massager that’s been defiled in much the same way as the legendary Hitachi Magic Wand. But the Wahl isn’t nearly as well known as the Hitachi and that’s really too bad because in my opinion, the Wahl beats the Hitachi, hands down. The first time I used the Wahl, I had my second squirting orgasm, ever… and that was from clitoral stimulation alone with no G spot involvement whatsoever.

I just have to say, the Wahl Massager absolutely blew my mind. This thing means business. It has the kind of deep rumbling vibration that reaches down and grabs hold of your internal clitoris and takes it on the ride of its life. This isn’t hyperbole. My experience with it has been that good. The rumbling vibration is why I think the Wahl is better than the Hitachi. The Hitachi is buzzy compared to the Wahl and when I use it, if I don’t come fast, I just get numb and then I can forget about having orgasms until the feeling comes back to my vulva. The Wahl didn’t numb me, granted it didn’t take long for it to give me an explosive, wet orgasm. Another thing I prefer about the Wahl, is that you can achieve more directed, somewhat pin-point stimulation. The Hitachi gives broad stimulation and it vibrates the entire vulva.

When I received the Wahl, I was kind of disappointed. I wasn’t sure what the various attachments were made of until I had them in my hands and saw “PVC” stamped onto the backs of them. One of my goals for this blog is to only ever recommend sex toys made of nonporous, body safe materials. PVC meets neither of those requirements. It can sometimes be made without the use of phthalates but most commonly they are used as a plastic softening agent. So, I contacted Wahl to ask them if they were using phthalate free PVC and the engineer replied that he didn’t know. That’s comforting… they don’t know what their products are being made of. Given that the attachments don’t meet my body safe requirement, I wondered how I could review it. Then I had an idea. I asked dizzyguy to swipe some nitrile gloves from work. I cut the index finger off of the glove and stretched it over the Wahl’s Spot Applicator and voilà! I had a safe way to use the Wahl and I could recommend it to my readers after all.

From the moment I touched the Wahl to my clitoris, I felt like I was coming. It’s intense and I had to very lightly touch the Spot Applicator to my clit. My legs began to shake uncontrollably and I wasn’t sure if I could handle it but I kept going. And that’s when something amazing happened. The pressure that builds just prior to orgasm started much sooner and lasted longer than usual. It allowed me to stay in that state and really appreciate the feeling. It felt like the release was going to be powerful and amazing and when the dam finally broke, I had one of the strongest orgasms I’ve ever had and I squirted all over my bed for only the second time in my life.

I laid there in astonishment. I couldn’t believe that this thing made me squirt with no internal stimulation at all. That had only happened to me once before with the We-Vibe Salsa but that orgasm wasn’t even close to as powerful and only a small amount was expelled from me. After my session with the Wahl, I ended up with a large wet spot that soaked all the way down through my quilt and sheets, to the (thankfully) waterproof mattress protector. I got so excited over what had just happened that I wanted to share it with the world so I wrote a post about it. I felt like people needed to know about this thing. I would be doing my readers a disservice if I didn’t educate them about the wonders of the Wahl Massager. Imagine my surprise when a reader commented that it makes her squirt too.

This thing is loud and it’s ugly but when it can produce such powerful, explosive orgasms, who cares? And since it’s A/C powered, it will never leave you frustrated over mid-session dead batteries. It comes with 8 attachments but in my opinion only the Spot Applicator is suitable for clitoral stimulation. You are, of course, free to give the other attachments a try but I just can’t see the nitrile glove trick working with them. Wahl really doesn’t want you using their massager on your genitals and they warn against it in the operating instructions. But then, rules are made to be broken. There are a couple more interesting warnings like: Do not operate where oxygen is being administered. And, it shouldn’t be used within six inches of an implantable cardiac device.

The Wahl is about 7 1/2 inches from the top of the unit to the bottom of its handle and it has a  9ft cord.  It’s kind of awkward and a little heavy. I felt more comfortable holding it at the top rather than the handle. Holding it that way quieted it down a little too. This isn’t something you’re going to be able to use without anyone knowing but you could always just say you were using it on sore muscles. As for the heat attachment, I don’t know that it’s necessary unless you really do want to use it on sore muscles. It’s made of some kind of metal. I’m guessing aluminum. It’s a big round flat shape so it really wouldn’t provide the pin point stimulation that I prefer. The heat function and the vibration both have two settings, high and low. Low vibrates at 120 Hz and high at 60 Hz, which seems counter intuitive but it really feels like the intensity increases at the lower frequency.

The Wahl is a real bargain and it’s because of the price plus the immense pleasure it provides, I can enthusiastically recommend it. I’d even go so far as to call it a toy box must have. No other sex toy on the market is going to feel like this thing feels. Even if it turns out that it’s not your thing (which I personally can’t imagine but we are all different), you haven’t wasted a lot of money and you can still use it on aching muscles. For its potential to induce powerful, squirting orgasms I think it’s definitely worth checking out.

The California Exotic Novelties Tantric Aura Massager is my first encounter with internal vibration. Since successfully finding and stimulating my G spot with the Key Comet G Wand, I’ve wondered how it would feel to target my G spot with vibration. So I was excited when I got the chance to review this vibrator.

The Tantric Aura Massager is made of silicone and plastic with a PU cote. The insertable silicone portion is decorated with a raised scroll design and heart shapes on each side. It has a matte finish and doesn’t seem to attract a lot of lint. The plastic handle is adorned with pretty heart shaped cutouts and more scrolling. This vibrator comes in two colors, pink and purple. It is 6 1/2” long with about 4 1/4” insertable and 1 1/4” in diameter at the widest with a very slightly up-curved bulbous end. The push button is very large and makes up the entire base of the toy. Each push of the button takes you to the next vibration function and holding it for a few seconds turns it off. When you turn the vibrator back on, it will start in the mode that comes after the one you were in when you shut it off. This vibrator requires two AAA batteries. It is fairly quiet. With it under a thick blanket, I could still hear it in the same room but not outside the closed door.

The vibrations are moderately strong and are rather buzzy. I would have preferred more intensity. My fingers do get a little numb from holding it.There are 10 functions, 3 levels of steady vibration and 7 patterns. Cal Exotics has named the patterns: Gradient Burst, Intermittent, Surge, Inta-Surge, Even Step, Roller Coaster Spurt and Pulsate. Out of the patterns, I like the Gradient Burst the most. All the others are pulses of varying duration.

The packaging warns against submersing the vibrator in water so, you can’t take this into the tub. I am assuming that it is splash proof and I haven’t yet had any problem getting it wet enough to clean. The cutout heart design on the handle, while pretty, makes cleaning a little more involved. Body fluids and lube can get down in it and you’ll need an old toothbrush to thoroughly clean it out. You can use antibacterial soap, a 10% bleach solution or toy cleaner. Cal Exotics recommends the use of water based lube.

I was looking forward to trying internal vibrations for the first time. However, using the Tantric Aura Massager didn’t knock my socks off. I can have fun with this toy but it’s not something I see myself reaching for on a regular basis. My main complaints are the buzzy vibrations and the raised scroll design on the sides, which I found very uncomfortable when thrusting. Since thrusting wasn’t comfortable, I could really only insert the vibrator and push it against my G spot, not moving it in and out. If you’re not overly sensitive to textures, the design on the sides of this vibe might not bother you but I would have preferred it to be completely smooth.

I couldn’t reach orgasm vaginally with this vibe but I don’t blame it for that. I have yet to climax from any kind of internal stimulation alone. Even with the incredible G spot stimulation from the Key Comet Wand, it still takes the Salsa on my clit to bring me to orgasm and the same is true for this toy. When I pair it up with clitoral stimulation I do climax easily and I think the internal vibrations from the Tantric Aura Massager do enhance the orgasm. This vibrator can also give me orgasms if I rub it against my clit.

So like I said before, I can enjoy myself with this vibe. It’s just not something that I’d put on my must have toys list but if you can enjoy buzzier vibrations and you don’t think that the scroll design would irritate you then this could be right for you. It was hard for me to write this review because I neither loved nor hated this vibrator. It didn’t wow me but that doesn’t mean it wouldn’t work great for someone else. I do think that for the price point, Cal Exotics could have made this vibe waterproof. For internal vibration and G spot stimulation I have my eye on the Lelo Mona 2 but admittedly, that vibrator is in a completely different price range.

When it comes to water-based lubes there are two things I look for. I want them to be free of glycerin and parabens. Wet Naturals Sensual Strawberry contains neither. For reasons why we should avoid lubes that contain these ingredients, see this post. I’m usually not looking for flavored lube but just because it’s flavored doesn’t mean it won’t work well for lubing up my sex toys. Plus there are times when, probably due to medication, my mouth is really dry and I can’t give the wet sloppy blow jobs I’d like to. Flavored lube can come in handy on those occasions.

Wet Naturals Sensual Strawberry has more of a scent than a taste and it does smell quite nice. I actually, don’t mind that it doesn’t have a strong flavor. It tastes very slightly of strawberry with a light sweetness. It is a somewhat thinner lube, meaning that it’s kind of runny and watery, which can be a good thing depending on what you’re looking for. If you don’t like the feeling of a thick gloppy lube (most of the time, I don’t) then the consistency of this lube should work well for you.

However, if you’re looking for a water-based lube to use for anal play then this probably wouldn’t be the best choice. Generally, when it comes to anal play, you want a lube that has more substance and staying power; something that will provide more cushioning for the delicate tissues. That said, for lubing up dildos for vaginal insertion or for my clit vibes, it works just fine. It doesn’t get sticky or dry up too soon and since it’s water based, cleanup is very easy. Its flavoring is subtle and the fragrance is nice. If you’re looking for a flavored lube or just want something water based for your toys then I don’t think you can go wrong with this.

Update: Since I reviewed this lube, I’ve had the opportunity to learn a lot more about lube and which ingredients/brands are compatible with the body.  I’m not sure if I’d still recommend this lube.  Wet lubricants are generally hyper-osmotic but this is from their “Naturals” line and I don’t see the ingredients that would make this particular lube hyper-osmotic.  That doesn’t mean it isn’t though.
