Duke, Silk Small, Warm Up

** The Tantus Warm-up has been discontinued **

It’s like a dildo, only smaller. Seriously, this thing is downright diminutive. When the package arrived at my doorstep I swore SheVibe must have sent the wrong product. Wondering what in the world they could have sent instead of what I requested, I cut open the box and peered in at it. That was it alright.

I guess my half-functioning brain didn’t comprehend the measurements (plus the name should have been a clue) so, I was really caught off guard when I saw the size of the Tantus Warm Up in person. But small does not automatically mean bad. It has its uses. Will it please everyone? Of course not but no sex toy can. That’s why it’s nice that Tantus makes toys the size of the Warm Up all the way up to the beastly Hoss. They truly have something for everyone.

There are a couple of things to love about this cute little guy.  First, the price… under $30.  And Tantus’ somewhat new triangular base.  What’s the big deal about a triangular base?  Well, I have often gotten frustrated with dildos twisting while I’m thrusting with them.  Then the head misses the mark and you have to reorient and start over.  I thought it would be cool to have some kind of irregular shape, rather than round, that would allow you to keep the dildo pointed in the right direction.  And what do ya know?  Tantus did it with a triangle.  Perfect.  Just keep the point, pointed up.  I’ve also heard that the triangular base works really well in harnesses but I can’t speak to that directly.  I’ll explain why.

Tantus Warm Up Base

The triangular base is so simple yet, so smart.

When I saw how small it is, I knew it wasn’t something that I’d be really thrilled about using. I’m not a size queen by any means but the Warm Up is really too small for me, vaginally anyway. Then I started thinking… I had just been sent the Black Widow Harness from Tantus and was preparing to try pegging for the first time in the near future (if I could build up my nerve). Maybe the Warm Up would be good for that I thought, even though I had purchased the Silk Small to start out with. Then dizzyguy saw the Warm Up and he asked if it was the one we were going to use for pegging. He seemed confident that he could handle the Warm Up, even though he doesn’t often engage in anal play.

Well, I’m sorry to report that I’ve chickened out of trying pegging. I’m so frustrated with myself. It was something I REALLY thought I wanted to try and dizzyguy was always kind of on the fence about it. Then one day he said, “Sure, let’s try it.” Exuberantly, I requested the Black Widow Harness from Tantus and eagerly awaited its arrival. The ring that came with it was too big so I ordered the ring set. And now, I had everything I needed to fulfill this fantasy I thought I had.Warm Up strap on

Then, I don’t know what happened. Performance anxiety? Fear of being awful at it? Concern for hurting him? Maybe I’m afraid of looking dumb. Whatever the reason, I totally lost my nerve and suffice to say, Tantus is still awaiting my review of the Black Widow Harness. I’ve sincerely apologized for not being able to fulfill my promise.

I haven’t given up though. I’m hoping there will be that one day I throw caution to the wind and pop our pegging cherry. It could happen. The planets just need to be aligned perfectly, I think. And if/when it does happen, we’ll have the perfect dildo to play with.

Warm Up colors

So, coming of off that tangent, I can say that the Warm Up would be good for folks who need something small for vaginal use and I think it would be a reasonable size for newbie peggers. To test this out, I stuck it in my own ass, even though I haven’t felt much urge to stick things in my butt lately, but I had to do it for science. And ya know what? It was a nice easy fit and I’m an anal novice. I feel like if I can handle a butt thing then most people can probably handle that butt thing. My butt is nothing special. So, I definitely think the Warm Up has its place in one’s toy box. It’s just not going to do anything spectacular for my vagina but that’s OK. Tantus makes plenty of other toys that can do that.

OVO S2

This is a lay-on vibrator. I don’t lay face down to masturbate. So, why the hell did I get this thing to review? It’s a long story. Anyhow, I thought I’d give it a try before I automatically concluded that it’s just not made for me.

First off, it was difficult from the stock photos I saw, to tell the exact shape of the OVO S2. I thought with that almost pointed tip on one end, it could work for the way I masturbate but it doesn’t. Since it’s made to lie upon, all the vibration is concentrated in that large rounded hump, which doesn’t do a damn thing for my clit.

But what if masturbating lying down was my jam? Would it be any good then? I’m guessing, no. The vibrations are pretty weak and buzzy and you only get two settings of steady vibration. Of course, you don’t have to lie on it. You could hold it and rub it on your clit but that doesn’t work for me either.

I was kind of interested in the OVO line because they have lower cost rechargeable vibrators. They have battery operated vibes as well. But the S2 isn’t good for me and I’m not sure it’ll be good for anyone, even if you do lie face down to get off. I don’t know, maybe some of their other vibes are better. I would hope so.

No, there’s just really not much for me to like here. I mean, it is waterproof and made of body-safe materials. It’s USB rechargeable1. It comes with a rarely seen 15 year warranty. All of those points are positive but none of it really matters if the vibe can’t get you off.

Wish I could give you a suggestion for a better vibe but I know jack shit about lay-on vibes. I could tell you all about some good ones that you don’t necessarily lie down on though. Matter of fact, you can always visit my Toy Chest page to get a quick idea of which vibes I like and which ones I don’t.

OVO S2 bottom

So, operation… there are two buttons. There are no markings on them. You press and hold the one nearest the edge to turn it on. Keep pressing it to cycle through the two, yes two, steady vibrations and then into the patterns, of which there are five. Press the button above that one to step back down through the functions and press and hold the button that you turned in on with, to turn it off.

The underside, where the buttons are, is silicone and the top part is hard plastic that does carry the very buzzy vibrations pretty well.

You don’t get a storage pouch but the box is sturdy and suitable for storage.

This isn’t much of a review but really, there’s not much I can say about the OVO S2. It’s boring and just oh, so wrong for me. On the bright side, it looks like the next time I run a “take my sex toys for the price of shipping” deals, someone’s gonna get this one – if they want it. I think for OVO to improve, they really need to work on the vibrations. These are high-pitched whiny buzzy vibrations that numb you in seconds flat. If you’re into that, then you might like this vibe but I don’t and so, I’ll have to say pass on this one.

So, some folks think I may have gotten this all wrong.  They say that this is a “lay-on” vibrator meaning it lays on the vulva.  OK, maybe… could be.  They compare it to the Layaspot.  Well, the Layaspot is shaped to actually contour the vulva.  Plus, I know that women often lie on top of the Layaspot and grind on it to get off.  Now, look at the shape of this thing.  Does it look like it should be lying on top of the vulva?  It doesn’t look right to me for that.  It looks more like you’re meant to lie or squat down on it and grind on the hump – where the vibration is strongest.  In any case, it still sucks.  The vibrations leave a lot to be desired.

And it reminds me of one of these:

MyStim Tickling Truman

I woke up one morning with a vague sense that my life was missing something. But what was it? The feeling plagued me all day until I found myself perusing SheVibe’s newest products and like a bolt of lighting, it hit me… what I really needed was to zap my vag. And serendipitously, there it was – MyStim’s new line of e-stim vibrators. The Tickling Truman specifically calling out to me; promising that it could make my vag zapping dreams come true. I had to have one. So I begged and pleaded with SheVibe to send me one for review and they graciously made my dream a reality.

What is e-stim?

Was zapping my vag everything I thought it would be? Well, I’m not really sure what I thought it was going to feel like, since I was totally new to e-stim and nothing quite prepares you for feeling it the first time. It most certainly provides a kind of sensation that no other type of sex toy can. It’s like having something strange and alien up in your bits. It almost feels alive, in a tingly, prickly, muscle spasm inducing kind of way. My immediate impression was that e-stim must be an acquired taste and I wasn’t sure if my palate was sophisticated enough to fully appreciate it.  When I asked dizzyguy to feel the e-stim in his hand, he immediately recoiled and I asked if he’d like to have that anywhere near his genitals.  He answered with a resounding, “fuck no”. So, the sensation is definitely not for everyone.tickling-truman-chart

It’s not painful at all but I haven’t quite warmed up to the prickly sensation that all but one of the e-stim modes provides. After much experimentation and combinations of e-stim and vibration, I did land on one that I found pleasurable. There is an e-stim mode that’s a pulsating sensation and it involuntarily contracts and relaxes my muscles. It’s sort of like it’s forcing me to do kegels but my body is doing it with no effort on my part. I can let go of the Truman’s handle and watch it wiggle back and forth as my muscles spasm around it – very odd indeed but not unpleasant.

The first time I used the Tickling Truman without any clitoral stimulation, since I was less worried about reaching orgasm and really just wanted to get familiar with the toy. When I was ready to have an orgasm I quit using it and stimulated my clit with the Eroscillator. There was a lingering tingly sensation and everything felt more sensitive. When I did reach orgasm it was as strong as fuck. It’s as if the prior e-stim stimulated my nerves in a way that it made my orgasm better.

The next time I put it on the pulse e-stim mode with the vibration turned off plus a vibe on my clit and the orgasm I had was weird but… in a good way. I still don’t quite know what to think of the sensation but having the involuntary muscle contractions during my orgasm certainly added a new layer of sensation.

The Tickling Truman’s girth is challenging for me and my eyes may have been bigger than my vagina. Even without any e-stim or vibration turned on, thrusting with it is a little overwhelming because of the size (5.5” long and 1.7” in diameter) and the very pronounced coronal ridge, plus this vibe it totally rigid and has zero give. I think it might have been more comfortable for me if that ridge were more subtly rounded. It makes me wonder if I would enjoy the Electric Eric model more, since it’s smaller and more contoured. So, the size means I need a lot of lube and I don’t thrust with it. I just stick it in there and push down on the handle so the head puts pressure on my g-spot. This works surprisingly well.

The vibration seems like a secondary feature to me. The e-stim really is the star of the show and I think this toy would have been pretty cool with that alone. I don’t really use the vibration but it’s there if you want it. It’s fairly strong and there are two motors. I feel one right at the opening of my vagina and the other feels closer to the head. I’d really like to feel the vibration concentrated more in the head where it could stimulate my G-spot better but it’s not quite there. I look at it this way, if you don’t like the e-stim you still have a pretty decent vibrator, albeit an expensive one.

There are 8 vibration modes with 5 levels of intensity and 5 e-stim modes with 10 intensity levels plus a kegel training mode. I’m surprised that the e-stim goes up to level 10 intensity because level 4/5 feels like it’s as high as I want to go.

The vibration modes:

  • Vibration 1 – both motors vibrate together
  • Vibration 2 – only the tip vibrates
  • Vibration 3 – only the shaft vibrates
  • Vibration 4 – the tip and shaft alternate slowly
  • Vibration 5 – the tip and the shaft alternate quickly
  • Vibration 6 – the tip and shaft alternate very fast
  • Vibration 7 –  the vibration in the tip escalates and stops while the vibration in the shaft slows down
  • Vibration – 8 the vibration in the shaft vibrates in long intervals while the tip vibrates in fast bursts

The e-stim modes:

  • e-stim 1 – a constant prickly feeling
  • e-stim 2 – tingling feeling alternates in waves between gentle and intense
  • e-stim 3 – constant pulsating
  • e-stim 5 – pulsating alternates in waves between gentle and intense
  • mode 6 – kegel training program

The first 5 e-stim modes stimulate the nerve endings but the kegel training program excites the muscle fibers in the base of the pelvis.

I won’t get into how the buttons work because all of that is explained very well in the manual. Vibration and e-stim are independently controlled and if there’s one thing I’d change about the operation, I wish you could go directly to the e-stim mode that you like. To get to my favorite mode, I have to scroll through the other modes. Since you’re not supposed to operate the e-stim outside of your vag, that means I have to feel those other modes that I’m not as fond of. Maybe if there was memory for the settings that you prefer, it would take care of that issue.

Tickling Truman buttons

This e-stim vibe is USB rechargeable but it does not include an A/C wall adapter so if you need one, you can get it here. There isn’t any kind of low battery indicator on the vibe itself but when you connect the magnetic charging cable, it glows red then turns green when charging is complete.

The silicone feels OK. It’s not the nicest I’ve ever felt but it’s not super draggy either. One thing I do have to bitch about is the seam. There’s no way a toy this expensive should have a seam like this. It’s like they took lessons from Jimmyjane. It makes me wonder, if they couldn’t be bothered to make this toy seamless then should I really trust them to zap my vag?

The Tickling Truman is fully waterproof1 and easy to clean. Good ol’ soap and water works fine or, you could use a toy cleaner. To sanitize it, you can use a 10% bleach solution. Since it is made of silicone, your safest bet is to use water-based lube (and MyStim specifies it) but I and many other reviewers are finding that with today’s high quality silicone toys and silicone-based lube, it can be OK to mix them but always do a spot test first.

The packaging is really nice and you could store the toy away in the box itself but it does come with a great hard-sided case and this vibe is protected by a two year warranty.

Ticklikng Truman case

The  MyStim Tickling Truman is one of those toys that I wasn’t sure if I liked it the first time I used it. Even after a few tries, I still wasn’t quite sure how I felt about it. Honestly, I still have mixed feelings. I do really enjoy the pulse e-stim mode but the other prickly/tingly modes are a bit much for me. Then again, some people really like that sensation. My ambiguous feelings aside, I do think it’s a very well made (except the ugly seam) and innovative sex toy.

I probably wouldn’t recommend this vibe to beginners because of the price combined with the fact that it produces such unique sensations. If a beginner tried the e-stim and didn’t like it that might scare them off from sex toys altogether. But if you’re the really adventurous type or you have a lot of experience with sex toys and you’re bored with everything else, then I don’t think you’ll be disappointed by the Tickling Truman. You might be shocked by how much you like it (Shocked? See what I did there?).

shevibe bannerToday I’m writing a post about a sex toy shop that really needs no introduction – but I’m going to do it anyway. They are one of my best blog sponsors and have supported me anytime I’ve wanted to review something or requested a prize for a giveaway. Their name is SheVibe and quite simply, they’re awesome. They’ve been around since 2006 so, they have some street cred.

They’re a really great company for bloggers to work with but what does that have to do with buying from them? It has a lot to do with it. I’ve found that most of the time, the companies that treat the bloggers the best, treat their customers the best as well and SheVibe certainly has impeccable customer service. They run their business with integrity and will do everything they can to make a customer happy.

But great customer service isn’t the only reason to shop there. They are constantly having great sales on the stuff you really want. Their prices, even while not running a sale, are often the lowest around. The selection is great and they carry almost everything, in a range of prices. There’s free shipping on orders over $75. And if you have never seen their site, you need to go there RIGHT NOW. Go ahead, I’ll wait. Pretty freaking awesome, right? Their site doesn’t look like any other sex shop site out there. Their all-original artwork makes their site a feast for the eyes and they always have something new and fresh on the front page.

SheVibe swagAll of that is easily reason enough to give them your business but besides providing a superior sex toy shopping experience, they also have the coolest swag you’re ever gonna find. Don’t you want to sport a t-shirt featuring your favorite sex shop’s own original artwork? OK, maybe you’re a little too reserved for that… how about a coffee cup?

SheVibe’s selection is so huge that, if you don’t already know what you’re looking for, it could be a little overwhelming. So, I’m going to give you some of my own picks and hopefully help you find a sex toy you’ll love.

touch and tangoWe-Vibe Touch and Tango – These are both surprisingly powerful little vibes that are also deep and rumbly. I’m not sure how We-Vibe packed this kind of power into those little packages. Which one to choose? Tango if you want a bullet. Touch if you want a little something more to hold onto. The vibrations feel almost identical but the Touch’s silicone dampens the vibration ever so slightly. Read my review.

LELO Mona 2LELO Mona 2 – It’s one of the most well known and beloved G-spot vibrators available. I think it’s the best thing LELO makes. It works well for both internal (G-spot) stimulation and external (clitoral) stimulation. Read my review.

njoy Pure Wandnjoy Pure Wand – This is a legendary G-spot dildo and is the holy grail of squirting for many. I put it just a notch above the Key Comet (which is also awesome). It’s made of solid stainless steel and allows me to put incredible pressure on my G-spot, which is what it really likes. This dildo is simply perfection.

Jopen Key CometJopen Key Comet & Comet II – These G-spotting toys are another one of the holy grails for a lot of sex toy reviewers and it’s definitely one of mine. It’s right up there with the legendary njoy Pure Wand and some people have squirted for the first time ever using them. I think these are the best toys in the Jopen Key line. Get the original Comet if you don’t want vibration or the Comet II if you do. Read my review.

Sliquid Silkanything Sliquid – If it’s paraben and glycerine free lube you’re looking for I don’t think you can go wrong with anything Sliquid makes. A few of my faves are Sliquid Silk, Sliquid Sassy and Sliquid Swirl Blue Blue Raspberry.

Je Joue UmaJe Joue Uma – This is a deep rumbly vibrator that stole my heart the first time I used it. I absolutely love its vibrations – on my clit and in my vag. The silicone feels silky soft and wonderful and it’s contoured perfectly to hit the G-spot. Read my review.

NobEssence SeductionNobEssence Seduction – Yep, one of my favorite sex toys is made out of wood. Did you even know that was possible? Well it is, and it’s far too much to go into here but if you read my review, you’ll understand how and why it’s safe to make sex toys out of wood. The Seduction just has a natural warmth to it and it targets my G-spot like a heat seeking missile. There’s a large end and a small end to satisfy all types. Read my review.

VixSkin MustangVixen Vixskin Mustang – This dildo truly has to be felt to be believed. Seriously, nothing else out there feels like Vixen’s VixSkin dual density silicone. It’s made with a firm core surrounded by some of the plushest, squishiest silicone you’re ever gonna feel. No dildo really feels like the “real thing” but the Mustang comes close. I love the Tie Bright option and the size is going to be good for a lot of people. But if you want bigger, Vixen’s got that too. Read my review.

Fun Factory Stronic EinsStronic Eins – This is a truly innovative sex toy. I likened it to a carnival ride for my vagina. The Stronic Eins doesn’t vibrate or rotate or any of that been there done that stuff. It pulsates… like automatic thrusting. Kind of like a shake weight for your vagina. It bounces my G-spot around in such wonderful ways and there’s nothing else on the market that feels like it does.  Read my review.

njoy Pure PlugPure Plugs (medium) – Hands down, the most comfortable butt plug I’ve tried. You probably wouldn’t expect that from solid stainless steel but, it’s true. I can wear this plug for long periods of time and it stays in place perfectly. The shape of the base is genius; sitting between the cheeks just the way you’d want it to. I’m by no means an anal queen, pretty much an anal novice really… and the medium is just perfect for me. But it also comes in small and large so you should be able to find a size that suits you.

Liberator Wedge/Ramp comboLiberator Wedge/Ramp Combo – The Wedge has literally changed our sex life. I love lying on it so it lifts my hips up. This puts me at the PERFECT angle for dizzyguy to hit my AFE zone and I LOVE it! I never really experienced stimulation of this erogenous zone before I got the Wedge. If you can’t afford the Wedge/Ramp combo then definitely get the Wedge.

Tantus NeoTantus Neo – I don’t think you can really go wrong with anything Tantus makes. They are the best in the silicone sex toy biz. This is one of the most comfortable butt plugs I’ve tried, second to the Pure Plug. They totally nailed it on the way the base is shaped. It sits between the cheeks perfectly

Tantus VampTantus Vamp – This is a girthy, no-nonsense, satisfying dildo that’s just made for thrusting. The head is pronounced just enough for some mild G-spot stim and it’s nice and smooth for those who don’t like texture.

EroscillatorEroscillator Top Deluxe – The Eroscillator Top Deluxe with the Soft Finger attachment (I call it the marshmallow) is nothing short of heavenly. I adore it… so damn much. I have varying levels of success with the other attachments but the marshmallow is definitely where it’s at. This toy stimulates like no other. It’s not a vibrator. It oscillates, which means it moves the attachment back and forth really fast. The sensation is divine and I swear I have longer and stronger orgasms when I use it. It’s expensive but for the orgasms it gives me, it’s very much worth it.

I’ve given you a bunch of good reasons to give SheVibe your business but here’s one more. When you shop with them, you help support my blog because, when you clear your cookies, click through my affiliate links and make a purchase, I earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. That goes a long way toward paying for hosting and when you support my sponsors, they support me in return and I can continue to bring you more honest reviews and great giveaways.

Nobessence Seduction

There is one safe sex toy material that I haven’t had much of a chance to cover until now and that’s wood. Yes, sex toys can be made out of wood and please, don’t make me say it. Oh, alright… you won’t get splinters from a wooden sex toy. That’s usually someone’s first question.  But isn’t wood a porous material?  It is but when you buy from reputable manufacturers, your toy will be sealed with a nonporous, body-safe finish.1

With wooden sex toys it is so important to buy from a reputable company. There are some wooden toys being sold that have questionable finishes. You can even find wooden sex toys on Etsy but often the safety, porosity and durability of the finish are not known. Recently, another reviewer had a really bad experience with a toy made by Dee Lee Doo, where the finish broke down and degraded when exposed to water, which you should be able to do with a properly finished wooden sex toy.

Due to the prevalence of unreliable finishes there is, as of this writing, really only one wooden sex toy manufacturer that I trust and recommend and that’s NobEssence. They use a proprietary finish that they call Lubrosity and it has been tested for safety and durability. It is water resistant and compatible with all types of lubricant, which you’ll need very little of. They handcraft the most elegant, sensual wooden sculptures that are unbelievably smooth and virtually flawless. I’ve been so fortunate to have gotten my hands (and vagina) on one of their pieces, thanks to SheVibe, and it instantly became a favorite.

My NobEssence Seduction is pure perfection. I’m resisting the urge to tell you that it’s beyond incredible and you should just run to get your wallet and order one RIGHT NOW (or maybe I just did).  I think the Seduction is a must have for anyone with a G-spot2 and I could end the review right there because it really is that simple. I loved this dildo from the moment I opened the box and gazed upon its splendor then I used it for the first time and it was truly magical.  The Seduction appeals equally to both my inner sex geek and my inner nature geek.

Nobessence Seduction

The smaller ball-shaped end, which is 1.43″ in diameter, perfectly targets my G-spot and since the wood feels as hard as glass, I can get all the pressure I need, yet it’s so lightweight. It’s really nice that you can have that rigidity without all the weight of glass or steel. It makes for much easier thrusting plus, it doesn’t slip out when I let go of it to lube up my clit vibe because there’s not all that weight pulling down on it.

My first time with the Seduction, I paired it up with the Je Joue Uma on my clit and I had one of the absolute most intense blended orgasms I’ve ever had and I knew at that moment that this would be a dildo that I’d reach for time and time again. It’s one of those toys that I find myself daydreaming about and it makes me want to drop whatever I’m doing and go rub one out.

Nobessence Seduction

The smaller end totally rocks my G-spot but with the Seduction, you get a two for one. You can also use the large end and make no mistake… it is rather large. It was a bit of a challenge for me to get it inserted. The girth pushes my limits and since the end isn’t tapered, it was a little more difficult.  It wasn’t painful, there was just a lot of resistance as I tried to push it in. Once it did slide in, I felt completely full and stretched in a very pleasant way. It filled me up so much that there wasn’t a lot of room for thrusting so, I just sort of rocked the handle up and down, which is how I tend to use curved G-spot toys anyway.  This feels really nice but I definitely prefer the smaller end. The large end creates a broad, diffuse sensation whereas, the smaller end really concentrates the pressure, providing more intense stimulation.

NobEssence Seduction

The good news is, if you go for girth, the large end of the Seduction won’t let you down. Mine measures 1.8″  in diameter at the thickest point. Since these are handcrafted, each one will be unique and measurements can vary slightly but you will get something that is very close and because this is a rigid material, it feels all the more imposing.

Because of their Lubrosity sealant, NobEssence sex toys are easy to clean. You can use soap and water or a mild, 10% bleach solution. Just make sure not to use anything abrasive. If you accidentally drop the Seduction, look for damage to the finish.  If you’re unsure whether the finish has been damaged, you can soak it in water for a minute. If any dark spots develop then the finish has been compromised and you really shouldn’t use it anymore… and that would be tragic so, be careful.

NobEssence Seduction Wood Types

The Seduction comes to you in a really lovely, stylish box with two elastic bands to hold it in place.  NobEssence sculpts the Seduction from 7 different types of wood – Iron Wood, Yellow Heart (which is the one I have),  Padauk, Sirius, Wenge, Black Palm and Laurel.  When you order directly from them you can specify which wood you want. You don’t necessarily get a choice when ordering from SheVibe but they’ll do their best to accommodate requests. No matter which type of wood you receive, they are all stunning and SheVibe has a better price plus free shipping. As always, when you purchase from SheVibe through my affiliate links, you’re supporting my blog and that is very much appreciated.

NobEssence’s wooden sex toys are a bit pricey but what fine, handcrafted products aren’t? Anytime it takes great craftsmanship, patience and pride to create a product, you’re going to pay more for it. So, is the Seduction worth it? Absolutely, a million times YES.3 I adore this dildo. It’s so gorgeous that I like to leave it displayed as a fine piece of art (and you will too). It does an outstanding job of stimulating my G-spot and it has a natural warmth to it that you don’t get from steel or glass sex toys. I can’t quite put my finger on it but there’s just something uniquely sensual about masturbating with a toy that was lovingly made by hand.

The Dorcel Real Vibration M is an excellent specimen of mediocrity. It’s hard for me to get excited about this vibrator having just reviewed two exceptionally amazing sex toys, one of which has become my new favorite. But I really can’t compare the Real Vibration M to those toys, with their triple digit price tags. It’s just that, once you’ve experienced pure awesomeness, it’s really hard for anything else to measure up. To be fair, this vibe is not terrible for the price point. It’s just not nearly enough to wow me and I think it would bore experienced sex toy enthusiasts. However, it might not be a bad choice for a beginner who doesn’t want to spend a lot to find out if they like this kind of stimulation.

The Real Vibration M is a nice size and shape at 7.25” long (insertable) with a 1.5” diameter head and 1.4” diameter shaft. The size satisfies me pretty well enough but it’s the vibration that underwhelms me. The vibration isn’t the weakest I’ve felt but it certainly could be a lot stronger for my taste. Those who do not require such intense stimulation will likely be pleased with this vibrator. I think the fact that it takes 2 AA batteries rather than AAA’s gives it a little more oomph. SheVibe rates this vibrator’s strength at a 2 out of 4 and I agree with that assessment.

DorcelM

This vibrator has 3 levels of steady vibration and 3 patterns of pulsation. The lowest steady vibration is actually pretty rumbly but it’s just not intense enough for me. It feels somewhat buzzier as you increase to the medium then high steady vibration. The patterns are the same as those on two other vibes I’ve reviewed, the Pipedream LeReve Sweetie Butterfly and the Cal Ex Entice Lillian. The vibration is nicely concentrated in the head. There are two buttons. One to turn it on and off and the other steps through the 6 functions.

The best thing the Real Vibration M has going for it is that it’s body-safe, phthalates free and nonporous. It’s also waterproof and easy to clean. Soap and water is usually all that’s needed but you could also use a toy cleaner. If you need to sanitize it, you can bathe it in a 10% bleach solution. You’ll probably want to stick with water-based lube since some silicone lube can damage some silicone toys.

The silicone is rather nice and has a moderate amount of drag. There is a seam but it’s not something that you feel while you’re using it. There are 3 slightly raised ridges running along the shaft but I don’t notice these much. The head is subtly pronounced and the shaft has a bit of flex toward the middle. This vibrator is fairly quiet and I don’t think it would blow your cover. There is no storage pouch, the packaging is nothing special and you only have one color choice – “Dorcel pink”.

The Real Vibration M just didn’t have enough power to make me really like it but I don’t hate it either. In my book it’s pretty average and that might be what you’re looking for when you’re just getting started with sex toys. You could do a lot worse in this price range and it’s a much better choice than some crap made of jelly rubber or TPR. For battery operated vibrators, I like the Key Ceres G a lot better than this one but then it’s also nearly double the price. So, if you’re looking for something inexpensive and body-safe with mild vibration, the Real Vibration M just might fit the bill.

** The Pipedream Pure Aluminium line has been discontinued but you can find SheVibe’s selection of metal toys here. **

The Pure Aluminium Large Blue Vibrator is absolutely gorgeous. It has that retro-futuristic look to it that inspired the image above. It looks like it belongs in her hand, doesn’t it? And based on looks alone, I love it. Based on function, I want so badly to love it more than I do. If you put me on the spot about it, I’d say I strongly like this vibrator but I wish it had more power.

First of all, just look at it and take it all in – that stunning blue, the ribbing, the cool sleek aluminium. I really wanted this vibrator to be perfect so I could love it unconditionally. But sadly, it wasn’t meant to be. The first time I used it, I was overwhelmed by the ribs and underwhelmed by the vibration. Those ribs really mean business. I thought since I enjoy the Tantus Purr with its ribbing that I would also like the Large Blue’s but I found out real quick that there’s a difference between silicone ribs and aluminium ribs. It actually kind of hurts a little at first when I’m thrusting with it. It’s not bad enough that it makes me want to stop using it but it’s enough that I notice it and hope it’s just a matter of needing to warm up. However, it didn’t subside… until a curious thing happened. When I turned on the vibration, even on low, the discomfort from the ribs suddenly vanished. Weird right? I’m thinking the vibration is enough to relax my muscles to a point that it all starts to feel pretty good.

I say it feels pretty good and not out-of-this-world-great because this vibrator disappoints me in terms of power. It has three speeds (no patterns) and even the highest setting isn’t enough for me. Internally, I can feel the vibration fairly well, it’s just not powerful enough to really wow me. The oddest thing is that the vibration feels stronger inside me than it does when I use it on my clit, which is totally backwards for me. So, unfortunately it’s not strong enough to bring me to orgasm when I use it for clitoral stimulation. I really wanted to feel the vibration strongly concentrated in the very tip so I could rub my clit with it but it’s not there. You really feel the vibration strongest about half way in the ribbed portion. So, I thought of trying something else. Instead of the tip, I tried rubbing the ribs up and down my clit and while the ribs felt pretty good, the vibration still wasn’t enough to get me off.

IMG_1698

Don’t let me scare you away from this vibrator though. It is going to be strong enough for some, I just want power queens to be aware that this isn’t worth their time, unless you’re really intrigued by the ribs. I really should have known what to expect because SheVibe rates the vibration strength a two out of four. Meaning, it’s not terribly weak but not awesomely powerful either. And I have to agree with their assessment. That said, if you’re as enchanted by its looks as I am and you don’t need very powerful vibration, I think you could be pretty happy with the Large Blue.

As its name would imply, this particular vibrator only comes in one color, blue. It’s interesting what Pipedream has done with the Pure Aluminium line. For each color there are three sizes that are similarly shaped but not exactly so. Of course, I went for the large and even though it’s made of unyielding aluminium, it doesn’t feel overly large to me. It’s about 7” end to end and you could insert 6” until you reach the cap. It is 1.5” in diameter at the thickest point.

bluecompare

As mentioned before, it has three speeds and no patterns, which is fine by me. It’s rare that patterns really do much for me. Operation is simple with a small button located on the end. Push to turn it on. Push again to cycle from low to medium then to high. Push once more and it turns off. You don’t have a quick shut off on this vibrator. You have to cycle through to get there.

The Large Blue uses 2 AA batteries and the end cap unscrews to reveal the battery compartment. There is an O-ring that makes this vibrator waterproof when the cap is securely screwed shut. That not only means you can take it into the tub or shower but it makes cleaning a lot easier too. The anodized aluminium is a nonporous, body safe, phthalates free material. To clean it you can wash it with antibacterial soap and water, a toy cleaner or to sanitize, bathe it in a 10% bleach solution. Aluminium is nice because you can use any lube you prefer and it also holds temperature very well. You can cool this vibrator in the fridge or heat it up in warm water. When I use it at room temp it feels quite cold to me and is a bit of a shock until it warms to my body temperature.

The packaging is basic and similar to Pipedream’s packaging for their Icicles and Ceramix lines. You don’t get a storage pouch but there is a large chunk of foam that holds the vibrator securely. SheVibe rates this vibrator a 2 out of 4 on volume and I’d say that’s pretty fair.

The Pure Aluminium Large Blue Vibrator is certainly easy on the eyes but its power disappoints me. The ribs inflict their own brand of stimulation that is almost too much for me at times. This vibrator will be strong enough for some people, I just wish it had more. If you think the Pure Aluminium Large Blue Vibrator is right for you, please consider purchasing it from my sponsor and affiliate, SheVibe. I’ll earn a small commission on the sale at no extra cost to you and that helps me to continue blogging and reviewing.

** The Ceramix line has been discontinued but you can find SheVibe’s selection of ceramic sex toys here. **

If Dr. Seuss made dildos this is exactly what they would look like. I love the quirkiness of the Ceramix line by Pipedream. The shapes and colors are whimsical but that’s not all that’s special about these sex toys. As the name implies, Ceramix is made of, you guessed it, ceramic. Yes, pottery for your pu… nah, not gonna say it. They aren’t the first to make ceramic sex toys but it isn’t something you see everyday. And it’s not just the material that makes them unusual. Pipedream has made the dildos and butt plugs in this line uniquely suited for temperature play. These toys are hollow inside and have silicone plugs in the base. This allows you to fill them with hot or cold water and just as your ceramic cup keeps your coffee warm, these toys will retain the temperature of the water for quite a long time.

no51When SheVibe offered to let me review something from the Ceramix line I had a hard time choosing between the No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6. They all appeal to me in one way or another but something about the No. 5 stood out. I’m sure I’ll end up with the others eventually. There are also vibrators in the Ceramix line and I’m very curious about how the material will carry the vibration.

I think I had the No. 5 in my possession all of about 20 minutes before I gave in to temptation and took it for a spin. I filled it with hot water from the tap and let me tell you, the warmth felt amazing! It was nice not getting that initial shock from a cold dildo and I loved how it held onto that heat for my entire session. I was expecting a lot of sloshing sounds from the water inside as I thrust but there really wasn’t much. I was also pleased that the water didn’t leak during use.

The No. 5 is 1.75″  in diameter and since this is a rigid material with absolutely no give, you’re going to feel every bit of that girth. I’m not sure why I wasn’t expecting it but I was initially surprised by how large it felt. Nothing about it was uncomfortable. It just took a little finesse to get it in and get going but once I was warmed up, it was a really nice fit. That up-curved swollen head of the No. 5 found my G spot with ease and the ribs down the shaft added a bit of subtle texture that I mainly felt at my vaginal opening as I thrust. When paired up with one of my favorite clit vibes it delivers intense G spot involved orgasms. This dildo has all the length I need and then some with 7 insertable inches (7.75″ end to end). The base is 2.5″ across and makes the No. 5 safe for anal use and it’s harness compatible.

Ceramic is a nonporous, body safe and phthalates free material. You can wash this dildo in antibacterial soap and water or to sanitize, bathe it in a 10% bleach solution. Allow it to completely dry inside before you replace the silicone plug. Don’t boil this dildo or pour boiling hot water into it. The temperature you get from the tap is probably the hottest you want to use. You shouldn’t freeze this dildo either but you could chill it in the fridge, if cold is your thing. The finish on this dildo is sleek and smooth so, just a little lube goes a long way. And another great thing about ceramic is that you can use any lube you prefer.no5

The No. 5 doesn’t come with a storage pouch but the packaging is sturdy and there is a large chunk of foam that holds the dildo safely inside the box. I’m not certain about the durability of ceramic. I feel like this dildo is lot more delicate than one made of solid glass. I’m not saying that it will break during use but just handle with care when cleaning and storing. Make sure you inspect it for any cracks or chips before use.

Looking like something you might find in the Red Queen’s toy box, the No. 5 is as fun as it is functional. It sits atop my dresser along with the other sex toys I’ve deemed too pretty or unusual to hide away. The Ceramix toys are something that I’ll definitely end up with more of. Each one has its own unique personality. If you’re into temperature play, you really need one of these dildos. And even if you don’t care about warming it up or cooling it down, the No. 5 is still a really great G spotting dildo. If you’d like to get one of these pieces of pleasure pottery, SheVibe carries the whole Ceramix line and you’ll help support my blog if you click through one of my affiliate links to make your purchase.

The Tantus Duke vibrating dildo (some call it a vibrator but it’s really a dildo with the option to vibrate) is the largest I’ve tried so far and it’s definitely pushing the limit of how much girth my vagina will accept. Honestly, I was a little apprehensive to try it because of its size but I just couldn’t stop thinking about it and I finally gave in. I mean, it’s just so alluring with that big fat head and that ridge, I just couldn’t resist. It didn’t take long to learn that I need to romance my vagina a little before I go shoving the Duke in there.

It goes in a lot easier if I warm up with something a little smaller first. I have gone straight to the Duke without warming up and getting the head in can be kind of uncomfortable for me. But once it’s in and I proceed with some gentle thrusting, things get all kinds of better and before I know it, I’m thrusting with reckless abandon. And that’s when I really start appreciating that imposing head. It leaves absolutely nowhere for my G spot to hide. It barges in on my G spot and roughs it up a bit, to show it who’s boss. And then, just so I don’t question its authority, Duke’s ridge follows up with a one two punch.

If this sounds kind of aggressive that’s because for me, it’s exactly how the Duke feels. It doesn’t make sweet love to me, it takes me forcefully and fucks the hell out of me. And sometimes, that’s exactly what I’m looking for… but I really have to be in the mood for it. Otherwise, my vagina slams the door shut right in Duke’s face. And even after I’ve been nicely loosened up from all that action, removing the Duke can still be a little uncomfortable. Getting that head past the threshold of my vagina is the real challenge, going both ways. I’ve mentioned before that certain dildos have a popping sensation as I insert and withdraw them. This is often enjoyable for me but that’s mostly because the heads on those dildos aren’t nearly as impressive as Duke’s. But those couple quick moments of discomfort are totally worth it to me when I’m in the mood to really man handle my G spot.

tantus duke

Tip: Put some lube on the vibe before inserting and it will come out a lot easier.

All of this wonderfully aggressive G spot stimulation and I haven’t even gotten to best part. You can make Duke vibrate if you want to. It has a cavity in the base that will fit an RO-80 sized bullet vibrator. It does come with a very basic 3 speed vibe that feels OK if you like buzzier vibration. But if you really want some knock your socks off G spot stimulation, I highly suggest you get either a We-Vibe Salsa (If you can find one. They’ve been discontinued.) or the equally awesome Tango. Tantus vibrating dildos and We-Vibe bullet vibes go together like peanut butter and jelly or Siegfried and Roy (OK, maybe not exactly like that). The We-Vibe Salsa (or Tango) is deliciously rumbly and more intense than the bullet vibe that comes with the Duke. Plus you’ll have 4 patterns to play around with as well.  And I can’t really describe how perfectly the vibration travels through Tantus’ silicone. Many times when I’m using Duke (or the Tantus Purr, another vibrating dildo) internally, I just can’t stop myself from taking it out, sliding it up to my clitoris and rubbing the vibrating head against it. It feels incredible and I’ll want to keep going until I reach orgasm but then I’ll stop myself put the Duke back in and continue with a vibe like the We-Vibe Touch simultaneously on my clit. Once I finally do reach orgasm with both of those toys in tandem, it’s truly explosive.

Tantus toys are among the finest quality and safest sex toys you can get. They are so well made and will last you many years with proper care. Their platinum cure premium silicone is some of the best material you can stick in your body. It’s nonporous, body safe and hypoallergenic. It contains no latex or phthalates and it can be sanitized by boiling for a few minutes (remember to remove the vibrator) or bathing in a 10% bleach solution. For quick and easy cleanup, antibacterial soap and water will work or you could use a toy cleaner.  And yes, that’s lint you see in the photos.  Tantus toys tend to be lint magnets.

The hard and fast rule for silicone toys is that you should always use water based lube because some silicone lubes can damage some silicone toys. However, I’ve tested Sliquid Silk hybrid lube on Tantus toys and I haven’t run into any problems. If you decide to experiment with silicone or hybrid lube, spot test an area on the base first to make sure that they are compatible. Oil based lube can also be used with silicone toys. It is generally advisable to keep oil based lube out of the vagina but it can be a very good option for anal toys. If you find that water based lube dries out too fast for long term butt plug wear, you could try coconut oil. I haven’t done this yet but I plan to soon, with the Tantus Neo.

tantus duke

Bright and shiny with no lint. Pic must have been taken in a clean room.

Duke comes in two gorgeous colors: Midnight Purple and the new Peacock. That large head I’ve been going on about is 2 inches in diameter, then the shaft tapers down to 1 5/8 inches in diameter. It is 7 ¼ inches long from tip to base and 6 ½ inches of that is insertable. The base is 2 ¾ inches across, which makes it safe for anal use (if you can handle that girth) and it’s also harness compatible. The silicone has a matte finish up to the head, which has a glossy finish. There is some drag with this silicone, which is neither good nor bad, it just depends on what kind of sensation you prefer. Some women like grabby silicone pulling on their G spot. If you don’t, just make sure to use a lot of lube.

I hope I’ve made the Duke sound like an awesome vibrating dildo because it really is. The size is a bit of a challenge for me but for some, the girth will be just right. It’s versatile because you can use it as a basic dildo, or insert a bullet vibe and take the G spot stimulation to a whole new level. The Duke aggressively stimulates my G spot which isn’t always what I’m looking for but when I am in the mood for it, damn it’s good. I can absolutely recommend the Tantus Duke for anyone who thinks that the girth would not be problem for them. For those who know that it is too big, the Tantus Purr might be a good choice, if you enjoy texture.
