If you follow me on Twitter then you probably already know about the little side project I’ve got going on. Or maybe you’ve noticed the banner in the right sidebar. But for those of you who do not know, I have created a new blog – That’s Not a Vagina.
Why? Because I was sick to death of hearing people call the vulva, a vagina. Actually, it all started out from some joking between sex bloggers on Twitter. You see, many sex bloggers get irritated when people misidentify the vulva.
Lunabelle from Ninja Sexology, who is a contributing author on the site, posted this tweet and it got the ball rolling.
How To Spot a Sex Blogger: Talk about vulvas, but call them vaginas. Sex bloggers’ eyes will turn red and smoke will pour from their ears.

I started throwing out possible domain names for a site about teaching the difference between vulva and vagina. ThatsNotaVagina.com seemed to stick. It’s easy to remember and has the word “vagina” in it so… people would probably notice it. But at this point it was all still just a joke. I had no real intentions of creating a brand new website.
Then I woke up the next morning and my very first thought was, I must buy the domain, ThatsNotaVagina.com. I announced on Twitter that I’d purchased it and got tons of positive feedback from other sex bloggers. They really all seemed supportive and excited to see what this website would turn out to be.
In three days I had the site up and running with the first post published on 10/19. That posts explains it all – the reason I created the site and what a vulva is, complete with a labeled anatomical diagram. So give that a read if you’re at all interested in this little side project of mine.
If this doesn’t interest you in any way, that’s cool. I’ll still be here testing sex toys and writing reviews.
Ah, the power of Twitter *grins* I’ll be sure to check it out!
