I did a little research and learned that PVC can sometimes be made without phthalates but most often they are present. I contacted Wahl and asked them if the attachments contained phthalates and the engineer replied that he didn’t know. Great, you don’t know what you’re making your products out of?
So, being the resourceful creature I am, I asked dizzyguy to swipe some nitrile gloves from work. I cut the index finger off of the glove and stretched it over the Wahl’s Spot Applicator… perfect! I now have a safe way to use the Wahl and I can recommend using it this way to my readers.
Today I decided to get down to business. I figured I’d make the most of my session and test more than one toy so I took the Tantus Purr, We-Vibe Salsa and Wahl Massager, along with some water based lube, to my bed. I started with the Purr and at first I didn’t use a vibrator inside it. The prominent ridges definitely got my attention. I mainly felt them rippling past my vaginal entrance as I thrust in and out. Love the idea with the gloves! I don’t know if you tried this but you should turn the glove inside out before you cover the Wahl with it, I figured this out when looking into nitrile gloves for safer sex play, the interior is MUCH softer than the exterior and feels great on the skin.

The only thing I’m worry about is my clit becoming desensitized. I’ve heard that can happen with really powerful toys like the Hitachi and Wahl. As I understand it, hard PVC shouldn’t contain phthalates. They’re added to soften plastics. At least on mine, the attachments are really rigid.

Good to know that they might not contain phthalates. The attachments for mine are rigid but not quite as much as hard plastic. There’s a slight bit of flex. Even still, I think they would still be porous but that’s fine because my finger condom trick works.
